Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

I called last week for update but got told till
my child old claim not finish they won’t make any decision. It’s End on 8.4.2025 . So hoping maybe end of this month.i am getting so stressed now .

I've had another stroppy email from DS' teacher about his timekeeping and punctuality. Apparently he's showing up late for lessons and disrupting the class.

I replied to the teacher's email and at the same time cc'd in the School SenCo. The SenCo has just emailed back saying that she wants to apply for an EHCP for DS (13) due to his recently diagnosed ADHD plus other SPLD difficulties and am I happy for her to do this?

I don't know much about what an EHCP offers but if it means more help for DS then I'd be very grateful. But now I'm wondering if I should let DLA know that the SenCo at school now wants to apply for an EHCP for DS? Would this help his application? And if so, how should I update them? Should I just write a letter to DLA telling them that the SENco has emailed or would she need to write a letter to DLA herself? Sorry, new to all this and it's a lot!
I'm on week 13 waiting to hear and DS' behaviour is just getting worse and worse as the weeks go by.

Finally our turn- MR 09/08! Just had a phone call this evening and lady told me she has overturned the decision. She said I had provided plenty of evidence so she couldn’t work out why it had been declined. They were waiting for school input which she said basically said “nothing wrong” even though she has diagnosis, sen plan camhs and school interventions. She said she ignored school questions in the end as she felt they rushed it and were inaccurate. Thank goodness for some sense! Awarded HRC and LRM. It will make such a difference. I could cry! X

@Caramelbear1985 I seem to remember payments are usually Tuesdays, but the back pay may not be. I'm sure someone can confirm if I'm remembering correctly.
My back pay was pending on my account Monday afternoon and was paid on the Tuesday.

Anyone had a phone call to confirm bank details?
I received a call on Friday and they said they are confirming the bank details for the money to be paid into. I called on Monday and they said they couldn't tell me anything and to wait on a letter , called back today and they said it's being looked at and I should hear soon🙈

@Kizzy0204 have you heard any updates or anything on yours? I wasn't anxious about mine until I was called on Friday to confirm bank details but I still haven't received any letter or been given an update when calling just told to wait on a letter. Hopefully we hear by the end of the week🤞🏽 feel like I've been saying that for the past couple weeks now😬

Based on them asking for bank details, I would expect a payment, but please don't take this as gospel, good luck

@AutumnAir82 that's what I was thinking🤞🏽 it was with a decision maker on 4th of March and thought wouldn't the bank details be at the end of the form for them to question it X

I’m so happy for you! You must be relieved x can’t believe you have had to wait so long! My MR went in 24wks ago and I’m so so stressed out! Might call them tomorrow as my fridge freezer broke today!

personally I would let them know. I heard yesterday that my son has been accepted for the Ehcp assessment and was wondering whether I had time to send new evidence. SD 19/11. The call handler asked me what evidence I had and said it was definitely worth sending. I have a letter confirming the LEA have agreed to the assessment but it’s taken about a month for them to agree it so you may have time to send similar but in the mean time I would ask the school Senco to put something in writing for you x

Thank you Misty, that’s really useful to hear what they said to you 🙏. I’ll definitely contact his SenCo tomorrow then and see if she would mind putting something down on paper that I can send to them. And that’s good news that your son has been accepted for assessment. i just rang to make sure I’ve still got time to send evidence in!
it’s with a case manager but won’t be looked at by a decision maker until nearer the 25wk mark! I’m on week 16.
she also said that evidence can take up to 6 weeks to be scanned on!
she made a note of the evidence I’ll be sending in next week.
i spoke to a lovely lady xx

Woke up today to backpack of £984.75 which i make 13 weeks back pay of high rate mobility from 7th December to now.

26 weeks and 3 days
