Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Omg just tried to ring 45 mins on the phone to say all syastems are down ring back in 2 hours mr 18/09 been with dm for over 3 weeks now

well least were getting closer 😂

Feel like screaming just want to know now it’s been with a dm for over 3 weeks am on week 23 these mr are really slow if it’s with a dm do they look at loads of other claims or just deal with yours does anyone know

It's really frustrating cuz seems like October being done were September and still waiting I rang and pressed 3 instead of 4 for the mr bit got straight through told still with dm and got the 25 weeks talk good luck

Had no idea about the wait time been 25 weeks until I came across these threads I already feel like I’ve been waiting ages (I’m an impatient person in general)😂😩
The waiting and unknown is so nerve wracking I hope everyone gets the outcome they deserve for their children. I’ve got my fingers and toes crossed!

Child dla rang me today to ask more questions she said I should hear in 7 to 10 days is this a good sighn or not I was so nervous I couldn't get my words out our scan date was 18/9 mr

Same here sick of hearing this 25 week it’s with dms they need to be a bit quicker just want to know now my first claim was made 14/03/2024 said no due to going off just the booklet and didn’t use anythink I sent it an then they lost it all so had to do mr 18/09 it’s so stupid the child deserve it or we wouldn’t be going though all this

Am scan date 18/09 and been with dm for over 3 weeks an still not heard anythink then you ring an all they give you is the 25 week speech

The phone lines were down this morning when I tried to call. Took me 4 tries to get through so their systems must be having an off day. It's a nightmare 🤣

I called and was advised if I called again before the 25 weeks I would be logged as a nuisance caller 😂 you'd think I called on the daily as if I had the time

It really is but hopefully fingers crossed I might get my phone call tomorrow now as am the same scan date as you

I just rang up they said a decision has to be made on it by the end of the day today but did say they work into the night so to ring back tomorrow

My coc is 23/9 I'm only applying for mobility as I already get hrc and I rang up to see if they had my extra information. She said yes.. I said any more information and could I get an update and she said nothing yet... really helpful! I'm hoping they ll change my renewal date as I only had 2 years and it ends in August so I filled in the whole form again knowing it would take a long time but this is ridiculous. When I rang 2 weeks ago I was told should hear " very very soon" if this is their version of very soon I'd hate to be told a few weeks yet!

I had a 16th and a 17th both awarded today so dont think you’ll wait long now

mines COC sd 7th October, i rang last week and was told it had to have a decision by Tuesday so rang back today and they said decision has to be made today but can go into tonight so I have no clue that’s all I have been told x

I’m confused is the carers element on UC the same as carers allowance? Do I need to apply for the carers element if I already get carers allowance? Thanks.

Been quietly watching these threads for a while. We have MR with scan date 09.08. Still waiting! They asked for a report from the school and because they still haven’t received it they haven’t made a decision. Don’t know why school are taking so long as they have actually been really supportive and helpful. Guess their workload is just too big.
When I phoned yesterday, he was telling me I need to chase the school and it’s up to me. Told them I have chased the school as much as I have chased them! He said he doesn’t understand why they haven’t responded and it’s poor. Couldn’t help myself and said - maybe they don’t see you as a priority.
Truth is- school are very supporting but she’s in year 7 so only been there since sept. They’ve already referred her to asd assessment and cahms. I had included individual support plans from primary school, diagnosis letters (adhd diagnosed age 6 now age 12) melatonin and adhd meds info, recent asd and cahms referrals and a long diary highlighting daughters needs.
Still they want a 3rd party report from school and school just haven’t done it yet. I got put through to disputes yesterday as now 28 weeks, he said I can ask them to make a decision without the school report but it might not be in my best interests without a 3rd party report. Argghh! Told them to use her medical records and if they penalise me for school not giving them a report I shall take them to a tribunal. He replied I would need MR first. I corrected him that it is already at MR. Feel like I’m banging my head against the wall! Good luck to you all- so frustrating!
