DLA WAITING TIMES THREAD 65

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 21/02/2025 20:01

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

I'm 2 days after you and I'm just about to hit 18 weeks🤣. It's getting rather disheartening though seeing all these awards before and after our dates

This is what i said yesterday seeing awards been given after our dates is pretty annoying i wont lie 🤣

Glitzxx · 04/03/2025 09:50

Frankadoodle · 04/03/2025 09:49

@Glitzxx this is why we can't pay attention to what they say on the phone 😂

I agree i let it go in one ear and out tne other she was lovely tho bless her im hoping i hear this week tbh 🤣

Frankadoodle · 04/03/2025 09:52

I'd probably say I'm pretty sure we would have heard by end of March I'd presume .

I remember ages ago ringing and they said to me middle of march was mostly likely when I would hear. So fingers crossed

candywoo · 04/03/2025 10:07

25/10 - just called for the first time and still no decision, I'll just wait now.

Frankadoodle · 04/03/2025 10:09

It's just a pain isn't it . If we knew we would 100% receive a text saying "your child has been awarded " or "your application has been declined" then we would know where we stand.

But it's not a reliable system so we feel like we have no choice but to ring for updates as the letters take weeks to arrive once a decision is made .

candywoo · 04/03/2025 10:12

I'm sure in Scotland they have an online system, I think that would be much better.

I've not received a text in the past so doubt I will this time.

I don't think I ever received a text with my older son.

Woman on the phone said the other day I'd receive a text when a decision is made for this claim . But I think that's just a generic response . Doesn't mean il actually receive one 😂

la077 · 04/03/2025 10:43

@Glitzxx I ended up phoning this morning. Half the system is down so couldn't tell me if it was with anyone or had been seen but did say most claims are taking 18-20 weeks so hopefully we should both hear in the next week or two!

GreyDreamer25 · 04/03/2025 10:48

Nc s/d 08/11/24 fingers crossed not much longer waiting hopefully everyone gets positive outcomes whoever waiting 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hi all, long time lurker. Nc SD 16/10/24 still no news. Rang to check extra evidence I sent in February was received last week and was told its still in queue, 25 weeks blah blah.. But I can see they have moved on to November dates now so I'm a bit concerned. Is it bad we haven't heard? I don't really have another excuse to call and check.

Daughter is 4 in May and has a ASD diagnosis (very lucky to get it so early, she has been involved with services since 12 months old). Sent her diagnosis letter, report from the nursery which was used to apply for EHCP along with evidence they sent for that, Salt reports and portage report. I'm worried I didn't explain her needs well enough on the booklet though. Her sleep is really disturbed and she has meltdowns through out the day and night but not sure that came across well enough.

Worried that as later claims are starting to be awarded its likely a no. Keep hoping to see a payment or a text come through everymorning, but nothing.

I am the same, SD NC 15.10.24

I just keep seeing so many getting awarded. I don't want to ring as I don't like hearing bad news. I had expected a wait of 18-20 weeks going off what people are writing but we are on 20 weeks today and nothing. It would be good if we knew they would definitely send a text awarded or not.

My daughter is 6. School referred for ASD she is still waiting for her first app and it has been almost 2 years! We referred for ADHD, she had her appointment after I sent the DLA form off and she is waiting for the ADOS assessment now.

Sent a letter we received from the headteacher about if her behaviour continues she will be excluded.
Sent 1 EP report highlighting her needs that I had stated (she has had 3 EP reports in 2 years from 2 different educational psychologists)
School Pastoral and SENCO filled in 'about her' section

Still waiting on a COC from 16/9 🫠

Surely you have to hear something by Monday will that be 25 weeks? Its getting ridiculous!

crb12345 · 04/03/2025 11:33

I'm in scotland, ours is online to apply or over the phone and I'm sure you can upload documents. I've just received a text this morning that they are reviewing my application and they will send a letter when they've made the decision! My NC SD is 21/10 so hopefully everyone else hears an update soon🤞🏽

MistandFog2024 · 04/03/2025 12:08

My SD is 19/11 for a new claim, will have some extra evidence to send tomorrow from speech therapist, was wondering if I will have enough time to send it before my son’s claim is seen but seeing as there’s lots of people still waiting from October I think I should have plenty of time. Hope everyone from October hears soon xx

Yes will be enough time. Im the 22/11 and i am sending more evidence today also. If possible send next day recorded if you can. They will have received and uploaded it on to your claim by the end of the week that way.

witchesbrew3110 · 04/03/2025 13:25

I rang up DLA on the 17th September for the forms and it was sent back on 20th October. I’m not sure of my scan date but it will be not far from there. I’ve heard absolutely nothing from them apart from asking to see my son’s birth certificate until I just checked my bank account and have seen I’ve been paid by them! I think I’ve been awarded mid rate care for my 3 year old son!

I hope they got my sons letter for cahms yesterday so wanted to check thats when the lady said i should hear soon but the wait is killing me 😫

Whatalongwait · 04/03/2025 13:59

Just joined to post. N/C scan date 29/10. Called this morning with some new info and was given the standard 25 week wait message. Apparently not even with the decision maker yet. FFS. Hang in there and thanks for sharing progress; you're keeping me sane.

Sent mine back on the 11th October my scan date is 29th October . So yours was probably just after my scan date . So I'm hopefully to hear about mine soon . Congratulations on the award

I'm desperate to call but I get so panicky that they're going to be rude, I don't think I could take it if | had a rude call handler 😭 The wait is soul destroying, especially when we're right at the end of the wait.

I actually got my SD wrong, I thought it was from when we rang for forms (2.10) but it's actually 29.10. There's a few other 29.10s here so hopefully we won't be much longer 😭

I'm 29/10 . Haven't heard anything. I've never had someone on the phone be horrible and I've rang a few times . Maybe I've just been lucky because I've seen people have some not very nice experiences with the call handlers
