DLA WAITING TIMES THREAD 65

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 21/02/2025 20:01

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

I applied for both of my sons and 1 of them has just been awarded 🙂
My other sons who has got a diagnosis is should be must longer as they both had same scan date

Great news! Seems they're getting through the awards quicker now half term is over. Good luck to all waiting! X

AnotherDayanotherNameChangeX · 27/02/2025 14:26

Thank you so much @Frankadoodle ❤️ it's really really hard to financially keep going isn't it :( looking at ur date I'm thinking end of next week possibly for a decision, I wish you nothing but the best and I'll hang around on here for a while ok x
No text, I just rang and they told me this morning, no calls from dm or anything - which I was worried about as I'm nervous on phone calls in general 😬

Thank you @Newnee ❤️ I see you had your positive news today too, well done! :)

Sorry for a delayed reply everyone, after the good news I then had bad news (family related) so today has been up and down x

Yes phone calls make me nervous also. Especially calls from the DWP you feel like your on trial 😂 il update when I hear any news of my claim

Glitzxx · 27/02/2025 15:08

I know the feeling. 25/10 here and not rang yet but I'm getting more impatient 😅. What S/D?

I was advised I would be logged as a nuisance caller if I called again

crb12345 · 27/02/2025 15:30

@Glitzz my sc is 21/10 and I called yesterday they said the same, still with the case worker and hadn't been picked up by decision maker yet but she said it's looks like I've sent plenty evidence so hopefully hear something in the next couple weeks🙈

candywoo · 27/02/2025 16:09

@SunnyPinkUser omg! That's why I haven't called 😆

AutumnAir82 · 27/02/2025 18:29

It really is the hardest thing not knowing, everything moving forward for our children hangs on that decision.
I wasn't going to call today, but I saw a couple from my date getting their decisions today that made me call. I'm glad I did, I couldn't bare another night/day of the 'unknown'
But those still waiting, look at the dates, I got my decision yesterday at some point (nc sd 21/10) so anyone say 28/10 for example, give a call a week from today.
Best wishes xx

Violetswan · 27/02/2025 19:01

Does anyone know how long it takes uc to sort out the payments for backdating roughly ?

Peaches10 · 27/02/2025 19:16

Hi

I was just wondering if anyone knew how long it takes to get a decision after your case had been put down as urgent.

Just called both my daughters claims have been accepted with in a day of each other both SD 21/10 🥳

Daughter 4 - awarded 25th for ASD&ADHD pathway with many other issues awarded MRC until August (5th birthday) then will automatically change to MRC + LRM

Daughter 8 - awarded 26th for ADHD and GDD award is HRC + LRM

I’ve always put off claiming for my oldest because she wasn’t diagnosed adhd until last year, but finally did it and I’m so glad I did!
my girls can finally get the help they need and can finally buy my youngest a new pram!

good luck to everyone waiting on decisions! This group has been so helpful! ❤️

What evidence did you give for your 4 yo daughter? My son is on the pathway for adhd and we have put that in our claim aswell as his drs notes and supporting letter from dr and school.

My daughter is 9 and has been on the asd assessment pathway for 2 years, I wish I'd sent her case in earlier it would of saved a tonne of debt.
I sent - old schools senco statement on the form, her sen booklet, cahms acknowledgement of asd referral, their email responses to me reaching out for help x2, camhs email saying what the school are saying is wrong (bullet point email), nutritionist report (which was shite btw 🙄) new school senco saying daughter is on sen register now with iep/support being planned.
I hope this helps x
