Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Got our letter confirming MRC today for a new claim. Scan date 14/10

Hi our SD is 19/11 new claim, just sent off some more evidence today first class does anyone have an idea roughly how long until our decision? Hoping it reaches DM in time x

About 4 weeks, they’re currently making decisions for mid October

Nc sd 21/10 does anyone reckon it's worth ringing this week or next? Sick with the worry of it all

I'm gonna be calling next week. My SD is 24.10 so 18 weeks tomorrow. I see most people are getting decisions around the 18-19 week mark on here and on the Facebook groups

We are the same date also.. I tried to speak to someone one Monday, but they wouldn't update me.

Mines same as yours. I rang few days ago. Wasn't even looked at. 😫

Yes that's what got me wondering if I should call because of the 18/19 weeks thing. I think I'll leave it tomorrow then call Friday morning, don't think I can get through another weekend not knowing! 😆

Nope. Lady just said I had plenty of time to send extra evidence in if i wanted. I never asked that, I simply asked for an update. She then ended the call before I could speak

Awful! They're paid to do that job so what's her issue??!
Really makes u scared to call though doesn't it 😔

I'm going to call again tomorrow for an update, if it's the same lady (quite distinct accent) I'll end the call and keep trying until I get someone different.

Yep good idea. Do let us know how you get on especially as we are the same date.

hiya, I have 2 new claims for both of my daughters, scan dates 21/10, when I rang Monday about extra evidence we sent in, I was told at least another two weeks 😬 I’m tempted to ring this Friday, but going to try and get it to next Friday so I’ll be at 19w5d mark…. Really hoping we all here some positive news going forward x

@Newnee I'm 29/10 NC and I was told on the phone yesterday 6 weeks.

Yeah when I’ve rang at 15 weeks and 17 about evidence I was told repeatedly about the 25 week wait now, when I phoned Monday about them receiving it, I was told it’s taken up to 25 weeks but I should hopefully hear in the next 2 - I asked if it was with a decision maker and he said not yet no - but going off of here and Facebook, a lot of claims are being awarded/or backpay received between 18/19 weeks… so I’m hoping to here back soon, I’m going to try hold off calling until next Friday x

Hi, ah a few of us now all for the 21/10 date.
The wait is awful, the not knowing, it would be so much better if we could track our claims online. Keep us posted please when u do ring them, i hope we all get what is needed to support our children :)

I did think theirs quite a few of us with the same scan date while reading up dates 😂 the wait is honestly so long, the further along it goes I panic more about evidence,declines ect because I’m doing two claims too it’s double the stress and worry, they should definitely make a portal or even add a little section to the HMRC app so we can see the outcome and leave the lines alone 😂 really hoping it’s our turn next .. good luck x

My scan date is 23/10 nothing so far going to wait a month if I can then ring back .

Good morning. Just a quick post from me to say i have a back payment coming into my account tomorrow for £1834.

Scan date 5/11 called for forms on 21/10

Doing the maths I think it’s MRC LRM if it’s from 21/10?

Congrats . It will be pack payed to the date you requested the forms . So my SD is 28/10 but I requested the forms on the 25th September so it gets back paid to then, if the claim is awarded .

As long as you sent the forms back by a certain date . I think it's either 4 or 6 weeks

Thank you, yes that’s what makes me think it’s MRC LRM as for 18 weeks it works out £101 ish a week. It’s 18 weeks since I requested the forms but 16 weeks since my scan date. She will be 16 in June 2026 so I’m happy we have this now to be able to understand the PIP process for next year for her :)

@Poppycooo I'm glad your wait is over and your daughter has received the support through DLA that she needs.

Did DLA ring you to confirm anything ? I take it you didn't get a text from them ?

Nope not a sausage, I called last week and all they told me was that it might take 25 weeks and to call back at beginning of April, so I assumed it wasn’t close. I didn’t ask for anymore as couldn’t face being told it was in a queue so just left it and told myself I would not ring until 25 weeks

Does anyone know if the payments will now be every 4 weeks from the back pay date?

I’m also feeling a bit terrible that our got done at 16 weeks as so many others are waiting much longer. I did send about 80 pages of professional evidence (was a hefty envelope) so thinking that it maybe helped?
