DLA WAIT TIME THREAD 62

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.
DLA contact number is 121 4600 0800 121 4600

When is the last time you call for an update?
I would see if it had made progress. It seems like DMs are calling people with MRs.

Spoke to them on Friday, I was going to add evidence as was going to see if doctor would prescribe melatonin for my daughter (bedtime is 2-3 hours of whirlwind behaviour sometimes with lots of dangerous behaviour/violence) but they said no she needs an adhd diagnosis and pediatrician needs to do that, but we now have a right to choose referral being done which i suppose is good only taken over a year for someone to do it x

tyravoss · 20/01/2025 10:26

Just called up and they just said it's been passed over to a case manager does that mean the Dm? I'm so nervous can't take the wait anymore😳

GraceS25 · 20/01/2025 10:28

@CGBJ was your little one awarded? This wait is terrible

Jmam · 20/01/2025 10:28

I'd ring back and ask for the decision I'm so impatient lol. Option 4 is the best or so I've seen on here 🤞🤞

Angibarr11 · 20/01/2025 10:48

NC SD 20/09
son has ASD diagnosis and is currently being assessed for dyspraxia.
I'm too scared to call for an update as I've convinced myself it will be a decline 😓 it seems like the closer to the end of the 20 weeks the harder the wait is and the less confident I feel about the outcome. So glad I found this thread though! It's keeping me sane. Thank you 🖤

tyravoss · 20/01/2025 10:51

GraceS25 · 20/01/2025 10:55

This wait is so bad 😢
Currently still on hold every time they say thank you for waiting I think they have answered 🤦🏻‍♀️
