Update on mine which I’ve wrote about on this thread. Renewal. Due to run out 28/12/2024. Scan date 20/11/2024. My daughter who’s 4 years old with ASD has been awarded HRC & HRM until 2032. (Previously received just HRC no mobility) Wasn’t expecting the mobility (she meets criteria but it seems hard to get) so very happy for her. Fingers crossed for you all. Keep going. Xx

Congrats and thanks for confirming for the thread. Was there any evidence you submitted for your renewal? It’s very unheard of for a child under 5. Absolutely made up for you xx

I know this wasn’t directed at me, however going forward I would have all contact with them strictly email/messages so there’s a paper trail x

That’s my preference too but when he was attending more than he does now, their practice is to call on a Friday to update how the week went. When k missed their calls they would then send an email. I’ve got a couple but not much. I emailed them each time I’ve asked them for something which gets largely ignored or we will do it and then nothing

Stillwaiting2 · 17/12/2024 20:57

I think they will call my daughter’s school. As she’s new in year 7. I done the claim July in year 6 before she left the school. Think they are gonna want an update with her new school. But they are useless, promised my daughter would have so much put in place when she started and they havnt . All she has is a hub pass 3 times a day for 5 mins each time, she can use it when she needs it to calm
herself or feels frustrated. She’s in the naughty room every day (isolation) then she fails that so she gets suspended. She rings me sobbing each day. Friday they lowered her hub to twice a week without telling her.. so Yesterday when she tried using it for the third time of the day they told her it’s only twice now.. why wasn’t this explained to her before. It sent her to have a melt down! It caused her to have isolation all day again today’ sent her this morning and she couldn’t cope, ringing me sobbing saying how much she’s struggling, (she’s constantly telling the school she’s struggling and cannot cope!! (They do nothing) I stormed into the school and removed her, told the school she’s not returning untill the rite support is put into place for her. They said she had a melt down this morning to and was hard to calm her, They also agreed it’s all routine with her and doesn’t like changes but won’t help!! There saying untill she’s been in the school for 2 terms they cannot comment on send needs or apply for a ehcp!! Im worried they will let my daughter down if DLA contacts them. With her old school they were amazing and had so much put into place and support and they referred my daughter to a paediatrician. I’ve sent a lot of evidence from her old school (year 6) and they filled the part out in the forms but high school are useless. So for the time being I’ve pulled her out until they sort the shite out

I’m very sorry. Your daughter shouldn’t be allowed to get to a stage where she is distressed and having to call you while she’s at school they have a duty of care. Why reduce her passes to two? If 3 was going well and they’ve recognised she likes routine surely it would’ve made sense to stick to it but you can use this an an example of how she struggles to adjust? I don’t blame you for pulling her out. I wouldn’t be able to leave my child upset like that either. My son never cries his emotion is anger so if for example they do something he isn’t happy with he will let them know he isn’t happy or he will point blank refuse to engage. Have your daughters school not got the information from the previous school? This could be something that might help?

Stillwaiting2 · 17/12/2024 21:14

Yes see that is how my autistic son is aswell. Everything is anger with him. Where as my daughter is really emotional. They have everything sent to them, (they still do nothing) she had extra transition days upto the school for extra support aswell. They were fully aware. They have no care about my daughter’s needs. Honestly every day she rings sobbing and they pressure her more instead of supporting her. To the point she’s recorded teachers in her pocket gor proof of how there treating her. The hub pass’s were helping so they thought they would reduce it but not tell her! Think I’m gonna have to go higher and speak to the school governors because it’s wrong how they are treating her x

Reading your previous post above about your daughter
that’s is exactly the same as my daughter I was shocked when I read it
secondary school got passed all information from her juniors
they were told to reapply for her additional funding this month from local council ( they refused to ) she has it in place let 3 years but have to reapply yearly
in isolation everyday because she couldn’t do the work ( she’s dyslexic and unfortunately she does struggle ) some dyslexic children do fantastic but she struggles
when she tells them she can’t do the work - that’s refusing so she gets suspended
SENCO refused to contact me, reply to emails , refused assessments !
i de- registered her last Friday !!!!
luckily in our area a parents can contact SEN D IASS and do a parents request for a EHCP they are making the decision on Thursday

Exactly like my girl with the work. Struggles with that so gets put into isolation!! They frustrate me so much. Ah really we have access to sendiass aswell. I may give them a call x

Mumof1J · 17/12/2024 21:30

We also have send & inclusion they are the ones who deal with it and something called local offer I’m not to sure what that is but I am looking into it
we’re just trying to find a way in how home schooling is going to work as I work full time
so it’s all down to my husband but he says he’s no teacher 😂😂

It would be classed as a COC. So probably a 20-25 week wait

I think unless school are willing to reinstate the 3rd pass which she needs to regulate then there’s little point in her being there. My daughter is out of education she couldn’t cope so we withdrew her, mental health matters more than education. I would take it higher too, I’m going to SENDAR with my issues with sons school. It’s more of a support aspect with them. My son would cause a riot if his school attempted to remove things from him that he was happy with

Wow. My son refuses to do any work whoever he goes in. He won’t get punished for it they are more surprised if he does any work at all. They would be dealing with me if he was ever punished. They’ve even said he can sit on the floor if he prefers to try and coax him to do some work but punish, never! Maybe they aren’t as bad as I think

Oh no, I only mentioned it to them last week then called them today. I’m not finding them particularly supportive. Ours is a MR. I could argue that he isn’t in regularly at all so a lot of his difficulties are more evident at home. They have no positive updates for when he is there so that’s something. I do believe he tries to mask but they’ve witnessed him assaulting a TA for example leading to a suspension. We’ve tried it all with him, mornings, afternoons, morning with 30 minutes of an afternoon and so on. I do think due to lack of support it’s time to explore options of a different setting even if that doesn’t happen right away, might give them a kick up the you know what too 😂 thank you for your input. I think we are in for a long fight, hope I’m wrong though!

Did you write all that info in your original claim, the attendance percentage, a copy of the suspension and what it was for, that timetables have been reduced ect ect, have you sent in anything that the actual school have provided you like a supporting letter or did the school fill in the section about knowing the child? Was in you who's just sent in more evidence? Did they request it or did you just send it and what was it.. Also which part of the award are you asking them to relook at and reconsider? Sorry 5000 questions 😅

I got banned from the school because my daughter got beat up in the toilets for being different she’s got ADHD and Dyslexia then the week after the girl made threats the kill
the head of year defended the girl saying she didn’t say it but 15 other children said she did even the class teacher, nothing happened
I did tell the teacher I was going to rip his head off but my husband kindly reminded me that as I’m a nurse It would go against me
so I put a complaint in to the academy trust and I got banned
terrible school so she’s now home schooled
another teacher said she’s naughty she’s not one bit naughty
she struggles and displays behaviour and lashes out because she needs help

No I’ve only included it for the MR. At the time of the original claim he was at primary school and his attendance although not great was better than what it is now. They didn’t request the evidence, I just sent it. I’m asking them to look at the mobility part. The yellow form is what his class teacher from his current school wrote and the letter is from his other class teacher. They could’ve written much more but I take it they get a lot of requests.

Kids can be so awful. I always tell my kids everyone is treated the same no matter what. We have 2 children classed as disabled, one being a hidden disability. I would be heartbroken if anyone treated either differently
