My child's claim is with a case manager. I've sent in extra evidence that was requested on 6th which was 6 days before my decision should of been made (20 weeks) they only told me over the phone last week when I called to see if any decision had been made and asked to see if any notes. I've now been told it could take upto 25 weeks. I never got a call from a case manager. Does anyone know how long it takes them to look at additional evidence? Thankyou x

The decision maker only wanted to speak to my sons school because he’s just started this September so it may be a case they don’t request to speak to your sons school. And with any luck they don’t the way they are going on

I’ve seen so many on here asking to speak to schools so I won’t rule it out although they already know where he attends. Unless his class teacher comes through for us when she speaks to them, I don’t know but having had a chat we’ve decided he’s better off not being there. Plan co will get a call tomorrow. I’m not willing to work with the school anymore. 3 requests I’ve made this whole year and they’ve been unhelpful each time. The receptionist is nice and even she said to me she knows when to say good morning to him or not depending how he’s presenting when he’s met at his taxi! Even she was able to make that observation yet she’s never taught him.

I don’t even know what to say that’s absolutely ridiculous. What are they playing at🤦🏽‍♀️ if anything make a SAR request I think it’s called. They have to release all information they hold on your child. So all this about intervention plans should be in there and what not.
im in disbelief wtf

I’ve made the request. Don’t know if I’ve done it right seemed to be an online system. 1 calendar month to respond can use for tribunal if nothing else 😴

I think it varies to be honest. @Chels2020 has been waiting for a week but her additional evidence did get attached to her national insurance number rather than her sons claim.

It really sounds to me like these just can’t be bothered. Sounds like they are in the wrong job if I’m honest, the receptionist sounds more helpful at this point. She should take the call from them if needs be😂

Well it’s something and could come through quicker than the 1 month

Thankyou @SKB12 I called them this afternoon as sent it by special delivery and it arrived this morning. Luckily it has been uploaded to the right place as I did read what Chels2020 had done to hers, which kind of worrier me a bit.. just thought it was odd how they are now saying it can take upto the 25 weeks when this was just additional evidence requested and already with a DM x

RainyDreams · 17/12/2024 15:35

The thing is it costs them thousands to go to tribunal. They waste so much money.
My husband’s PIP claim, he received no award, went to tribunal and he got high rate of both. I’d understand if MR’s or tribunals just moved a few points but they’re so far off some of them that they really need to do better originally. Not to mention the stress it causes people who really don’t need/can’t manage it. It’s such a long and difficult process I’m surprised people can be bothered to fraudulently try it!
sorry off on a tangent slightly there!

Yes I’ve heard this too it’ll cost them thousands to go to tribunal. I’m doing a MR for my PIP. I was awarded but they have missed out some evidence as my doctor didn’t have it which I’ve now chased and submitted to them. It may or may not change the award, but it should’ve been factored in. I only found out after my award that my GP had no records on it.

It’s just general speech from them it doesn’t mean it will really take them 25 weeks. I’ve seen consistently on here how they will say it’s not with a DM and even an hour later an award has been issued. I hope they make your decision very soon x

You got this!!! You’ve fought so well and hard for your boy. Your school have been supportive as well and I really think it’ll help you. I’m constantly checking on here for an update from you. Good luck xx

True. I’ve given my email and phone number in case they get in touch. It asked for specific info on what I’m requesting, I said everything held on him 😂

She’s lovely and happens to be the attendance officer. I was impressed that she could read my son when to approach and when to leave him be. I don’t think she’s got the authority to speak to anyone or write a letter or I would’ve asked. I’ve still asked senco to ask teacher for a letter but I know how they’ve been in actually doing what they agree to

This is what they tried to tell me today aswell 25 weeks I interpreted her and told her to read the notes it’s already with a dm and she said after taking me through dpa she then said it should be looked at soon so Christ knows! Hope you hear soon z

Well his teacher has said that she’s given information from worst case scenario, but I have no clue what has been asked😂 hopefully tomorrow is the day for a decision😭🙏

It’s a shame because they probably see the most but can’t speak on it in situations like this. There’s this amazing receptionist at my son’s school. She’s seen my boy in full run mode, how I have to handle him getting in and out the car stuff like that

Kc1999x · 17/12/2024 16:59

Thankyou @Chels2020 and @SKB12 🙂 just thought with it being with a DM already surely it should be looked at sooner than this.. but yeah I think it's just what they are saying over the phone. Hope you both hear soon to x

This was what I was hoping my dm has had it for two weeks a week is partially my fault for adding my national insurance number along with all my sons details but partially there’s cos I’m an adult I don’t get dla 🙈🙈 never the less was hoping it would be today but never mind onto tomorrow I hope we don’t have to wait 25 weeks that would be very annoying when a dm already has our cases 🤞🤞
