positive vibes going into the week ahead🤞🏽🤞🏽

We got this at some point this week!! From what I have seen your son sounds exactly the same as mine.
3 hours sleep last night so could get snappy on today's phonecall 😂

Scc1991 · 16/12/2024 07:09

Going off topic here slightly but seems things are a lot better in England than they are in Wales regarding diagnosis for autism. My son has been on the waiting list for nearly 3 years and was told in the week that he has at least another 2-3 years wait. It's so frustrating

Kc1999x · 16/12/2024 08:32

How canny I’ve had around 3 hours sleep too😂 just had to tell the school my son won’t be in because he didn’t go sleep till around 5:30/6🙃🙃 I’m not in a good mood at all to say the least😂

VSLBIRae · 16/12/2024 08:37

It’s weird cause I was told it would take years for a diagnosis for my son but from his first paediatrician appointment it took around a year to get fully diagnosed🤷🏽‍♀️
hopefully the back logs will soon die down nd all this waiting around will chill out

I think expect to hear soon if it’s a new claim as they have just begun beginning of August

Most odd my son was dressed and ready to go without being chased. He’s aware it’s the last week today he wasn’t the happiest but being dressed of his own accord was nice to see and such a change to his usual daily routine. He always struggles around Christmas he finds all the build up and activities school do hard to cope with even though he loves Christmas

yes I can imagine it’s very overwhelming with all the Christmas stuff going on. But that’s a win today well done to your son!
I only hope in the future my son knows what Christmas is, he still hasn’t got a clue or any excitement towards it☹️ the win im hoping for this year is that maybe he will unwrap one present. Never has before so fingers crossed for this year

Kc1999x · 16/12/2024 08:50

10 minutes to go guys, straight on the phone at 9 today🤞🏽🤞🏽😂

SKB12 · 16/12/2024 08:50

Not everyone with multiple children getting dla are playing the system.
I've 2 on dla and one who gets pip.
The peadatritian told me to apply for dla.

Absolutely not. I have 2 children who receive DLA. It was my daughter’s nurse who asked us if we were in receipt of DLA. She’s missed out for years as I didn’t think she could get it. It’s shocking how genuinely cases have to fight and made to feel like they don’t deserve it while others are openly admitting their child doesn’t need it but if they can get it why not.

That's really good that you got him diagnosed so quick. I'm very lucky that my son's pre schools picked up on things very quickly and he is now in a special needs school with all of his learning plans and everything in place that he needs

I'm in england (Yorkshire) and we've been waiting 3 years already for my son and been told another year or two wait for his autism diagnosis.

It was very quick tbf. For his actual diagnosis appointment we walked in and the paediatrician was basically like we’ve knew from the initial appointment your child does have ASD so today he is officially diagnosed. But the way I describe my son is he’s very “textbook” autistic. So it’s very clear to see once you meet him. Isn’t no masking with my boy😂 we are currently fighting for specialist setting for him, they are few and far between for places near us🤦🏽‍♀️

I’m West Midlands. The wait times are supposed to be years I was told the same when the referral for assessment was first put in but by this time he had every single support in place that you could think of and that he was entitled to
