I totally agree with you on that, I know someone who plays the system and lives a fantastic life all 6 on DLA nothing wrong with them and she says if the government are that daft then she’s going to take the money,
angers me when I have to work 60 hours a week as a nurse.
but yeah people like you should work for DLA as you would understand what us honest parents are going through as you’ve been there and done that !!!
my fingers are crossed that your a happy lady next week

That’s awful, are they not questioning it yet some of us are having to fight for the award we believe our kids should get and no guarantee it’ll be accepted

It’s ridiculous, too many are playing the system with both PIP and DLA and then there’s children who genuinely need it to support their daily needs🤦🏽‍♀️
honestly I’ve tried looking into it before believe it or not😂 learnt the most from these threads and Facebook, the people here are amazing, it’s nice to have a little chat now and then with people who understand!
I hope for some positive news and if worst case scenario I just hope for an outcome just to get onto the next fight. The long wait times are a killer!

Kc1999x · 15/12/2024 20:58

SKB12 · 15/12/2024 20:51

I really think you’ll get a good outcome and hopefully this week. I’m not too sure on our outcome and know it won’t be before they break up

I wouldn’t say never because look how they are working, I genuinely think you’ll have an outcome before me😂

4 kids on DLA parents on pip
no she started it years ago because of the benefits cap she said if she claims all these benefits she is exempt
her claims were all done during Covid time as well so they were just literally putting them through asking questions apparently,
she honestly boasts about how easy it is to do, I said to my husband the other week I bet our daughter gets declined when there is actual disabilities where her kids have nothing wrong

🙌 couldn't agree more . . . Work untold hours as an SEN teacher. Balancing work and my little one who finds everything difficult is exhausting. 🍀🤞 Have everything crossed for everyone next week ❤

SEN teacher amazing!!! Nurse amazing!!! Smashing life guys, go use!!!

This is whats frustrating though . . . You have a little human that needs so much support and care with every aspect of their day. Someone is reading a piece of paper and it's down to them. They don't see the struggles or how exhausting daily life can be.

This! My son is nearly 5 and he can’t even put on a pair of crocs/sliders or a coat, can’t hold a pen to paper and can’t even feed himself with cutlery. He doesn’t even know how to tell me when he’s hungry and would go with out food. I have a strict set routine for food and drinks so he is fed and hydrated properly🤦🏽‍♀️ I can’t remember the last time I got a full nights sleep because I swear my child is nocturnal😂 it’s crazy cause children that seem very similar to my child are getting turned down all the time. I feel for everyone that has to fight for everything for their child. It’s heart wrenching

KaiMary · 15/12/2024 21:21

Kc1999x as frustrating as it is . . . Just remember no one will ever care or fight for your child as much as you. You keep going till you get what they deserve 🙏 On those hard days just remember who this is all for x

our children’s future is basically in their hands

Have you got no award in place at all ?
so you was declined on original claim ?
i honestly thought you was getting a low award and needed it higher because of his needs hence the MR
no wonder your fuming

Hi SD 05/08 NC I received a text to say my child qualifies today, would have been 19 weeks tomorrow waiting time. Does anyone know roughly when back pay is paid once text has been received?

Congratulations! 🎉

I had the same text on Thursday. 🙌🏼Expecting back payment maybe Tuesday, up to Thursday.

we have the care award. Trying to evidence SMI for my son currently. HRM were going for- he was refused at 3 because no diagnosis, he’s had a diagnosis since November 2023- re applied march this year, declined in July, MR July and still waiting. I have no doubts about my son’s care award he’s fully entitled to that hence why I’ll take it all the way. Sorry for the confusion guys

He has HRC. Sorry for the confusion. Evidencing HRM under SMI- obviously my child wouldn’t sit through an IQ test so there’s other ways to evidence it and things like being non verbal, not being able to do certain things evidences severe mental impairment if that makes sense.
if your child is similar to mine I have no doubt you’ll be awarded

Well you know your child better than anyone so you keep fighting lovely
thats good that he gets HRC at least they acknowledged something
Surely they should match it the HRM too

Not everyone with multiple children getting dla are playing the system.
I've 2 on dla and one who gets pip.
The peadatritian told me to apply for dla.

I wasn’t saying that. I know a few people personally playing the system to the max. No extra care needs for their children but still applying for DLA or already getting DLA when it’s not needed. I’ve been around said people and they’ve fed off of things my child does and then said their child does it too. Stuff like that. The point was making is that some people who genuinely need it for their children aren’t getting it when others who don’t need it for their children are getting it.
I really hope you don’t think it was aimed at you or others in your situation who have a genuine need. This was just off of experience with some people! And same with the other person posting about the friend claiming for 6 children who has openly admitted to not even needing it

Kc1999x · 15/12/2024 23:34

Didn’t say everyone was
I personally put my neighbours brags about not needing
her words are “ just blag it on the forms and they are dumb enough to give it you “
” I can’t be bothered to work so I’m just going to say I’ve got a bad back “
people like that don’t deserve it when there are children out there who have extra needs and are getting refused

Ive not doubt that some people are playing the system to their advantage.
Hopefully they get caught out eventually.

Fingers crossed. I’ve convinced myself I’ve not heard because we’re being declined lol. I almost feel guilty being so bothered because our youngest gets HRC. He’s 3 and was born with a number of difficulties and has a permanent feeding tube. I never claimed for our eldest who is 14 but we were advised to, ironically by the professionals looking after our youngest!! He has ASD and needs a lot of additional support and care. We have to shower him, Brush his teeth etc, make sure he eats, he doesn’t sleep well so we’re usually up all hours. He struggles if we go anywhere with over stimulation and he needs a lot of extra help at school. I know that that is over and above a neurotypical teenager but I still have a bad feeling about being successful!
