Hello everybody, I have made a new thread please put in your scan date, hopefully we hear some good news this month. please be kind and feel free to share scan date, entitlement award and what child is diagnosed with as others in similar position can feel uplifted in these stressful times. 💐
New claims (NC) are taking ‘around’ 20 weeks.
Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) & Change Of Circumstances (COC) between 20-25 weeks approx.
Renewals between 15-20 weeks approx
tribunals: when you disagree with MR and are considered by a court
scan date (SD) date form was scanned on the system and counting weeks for decision
original claim date: date you called up for the forms and you will be backdated
UC : universal credit
DWP: department of work and pensions
DM: decision maker; the person who assesses each claim and awards/decline a case
number for an update 121-4600 0800 121-4600
currently we are in July/August for decisions! xx

I asked to be backdated and said about child needs verified we was awarded on Wednesday for dla. Left message asking and they just came back saying he in touch by 25th Dec

Yeah, they just said the DLA would need to be verified by someone who deals with that and then it would go to someone who can make a decision on the back pay. The verification has happened so I guess it just now gets checked for back pay. Hopefully they’ll make decision and back pay soon but I’ve seen varying amounts of time on here, from a couple of weeks to much longer so no timeframe apparently

Had my phone on loud all day in case a DM rang😂 was half asleep and my phone rang was likeee yayyyy, looked and it said “dad” but for that split second I thought it said DLA😂 and yes I have DLA saved in my phone on my favourites list😂😂😂

Even if a request is put in it doesn’t mean they will text. And not everyone receives one. Don’t think the worst! They are only just starting beginning of August claims, there is still people with new claims waiting for the end of July! Your time is coming🙏

My very first claim for my son I didn’t request a text but got one anyways. Think it depends on each decision maker tbh. But pls don’t think the worst🙏
tbh im not expecting to hear back till the full 25 weeks so that’ll be next year😂 im surviving over here lol😂

Thanks! No I didn’t put any request in for text, I was quite stressed rang a couple of times, last was on Friday when they said a decision hadn’t been made so I presumed I wouldn’t hear till after Xmas. Hopefully you will hear soon as looks like they are starting August now 🤞🏻🤞🏻

God they really make no sense do they. I wish they understood how excruciating the wait is and have a bit more compassion when we need to call up. Almost 6 months to be potentially told no is awful, and then almost another 6 for MR! It’s only been the past couple of days I’ve been getting twitchy.

This is what I said to them on the phone it’s messing badly with my anxiety and making it 1000000x worse that people beyond my date are hearing back and yet I’m no further forward🤦🏽‍♀️ can only hope for something this week as I get closer to 22weeks!
I really think you’ll be hearing soon, new claims are getting done a bit quicker recently which is brilliant!

I become obsessed during the weekdays, knowing I can call just takes over me😂 my little one has finished nursery for Christmas therefore I have from 9:30-2:30 to call for updates while my son is at school😂 it’s very unhealthy at this point🤦🏽‍♀️😂

id love to be a decision maker for DLA tbh, there’s people out there that I know that are falsely trying to claim for their child, and then there’s people who have for example autistic children but their child doesn’t actually require extra care than the average child if you get what I mean but they still get awarded. Then there’s people who have children requiring a substantial amount of extra care but are being declined left right and centre. I feel that if you don’t have the heart in helping those that have children with additional needs and disabilities you aren’t going to take the time to read evidence to award fairly.

I totally agree with you on that, I know someone who plays the system and lives a fantastic life all 6 on DLA nothing wrong with them and she says if the government are that daft then she’s going to take the money,
angers me when I have to work 60 hours a week as a nurse.
but yeah people like you should work for DLA as you would understand what us honest parents are going through as you’ve been there and done that !!!
