But will I even have an account? I did add all my sons details and his are clearly stated on all letters so surely there not that daft! Xx

It was me this happened to. I have never applied for DLA for myself and this is my first time claiming for my son. It had been put under my NI number on the system as I was told to put that on the extra evidence with my son’s details. At the time I hadn’t received the letter with his reference number on. I hope yours gets sorted.

They tried to fob me off with this as well. Even though I said it’s been 4 weeks since you received it!

Thankyou did you have a claim
opem in your name or anything? I am struggling to understand how our national insurance numbers would make a difference but I am definitely going to be phoning tomorrow to ask them to check I’m waiting on this so dm can finish my claim x

No nothing. Apart from child benefit we don’t receive any other benefits so I was surprised how they scanned it onto my file which I didn’t know I even had! My SD is 26/10 so I have a long wait ahead. Just sending in extra evidence as I receive it.

Yeah this is exactly me although I do get universal credit but no nothing on my journal I’ll chase tomorrow and see what they say if all else fails I’ll send again without my national insurance number on this time x

Thankyou ladies I wouldn’t have never known without you both. Let’s see what they make up tomorrow 🤞🤞

Rags2Richards · 15/12/2024 12:32

It’s strange isn’t it. When you phone DLA they ask for you NI number when you have not got your child ref number hand. So you would think they couldn’t possibly cock it up on the paperwork u send in. Especially if paperwork refers to child. I hope they find yours @Chels2020

JJR2024 · 15/12/2024 13:26

Hi SD 05/08 NC I received a text to say my child qualifies today, would have been 19 weeks tomorrow waiting time. Does anyone know roughly when back pay is paid once text has been received?

Don’t really know much on renewals however I’ve seen people having them come back about a month ahead if that makes sense, but give up until renewal date if not before

She swapped it over on mine. I’m going to double check when I call to see if the new lot of evidence I sent has been scanned on!

Ah that’s good then fingers crossed did you just explain and ask them to check your file? Never been in this situation so not sure what To say x

It was the lady who I spoke to who suggested that was what could have happened. I wouldn’t have even thought they could scan it on to my file by mistake. She checked under my NI number and saw it was there so said she would swap it onto my son’s application.

Does anyone know what happens when I have left a message on uc journal asking for disability payment and carer element back dated it says need to verify child's details even though child already on claim what does that mean

I did the same on Friday, 2 kids on my claim, one just been awarded in the last week. Yesterday I had a message on my journal saying both kids had been verified (don’t know why they needed to reverify both kids as I only made a change for one but maybe they do it as standard). I assume it just means that they’ve confirmed that the kid whose been awarded has been confirmed as being in receipt of DLA and so now I hope that they’ll respond to my message asking for back pay
