It's another decline unfortunately 😔 The gentleman was every so lovely and explained that they still stick to the same reasons, which I do not understand, as my son needs are so much more than a child his age. I think because he is 11 years old and we did not do it sooner went against us also, but we never knew we could get this to help him. I am requesting new forms and will start again, as it will be quicker than tribunal.
Congratulations to everyone who got what they deserved so far and good luck to everyone waiting and going throughout MR. I will probably be back here again soon 🫠 xx

Oh I am so so sorry. I claim for my 2nd child and she was 11 when she got accepted. What were their reasons? I really hope you get what you deserve in the end x

Oh I'm so sorry. I truly think it depends on who's pile it lands on.
My son is also 11, 12 next month.
I'm gutted for you but keep fighting xx

Apparently my son doesn't need care over a hour day or night 😮‍💨 I really don't understand how they came to that conclusion, when he needs help with most of his day to day and night living, inside the house and out. He don't ever sleep through the night and not to add the sensory issues that cause him to flee in panic or meltdown and more 😔
It's baffled us it really has how they came to that conclusion.

awarded on fri (4/10) would I expect payment tomorrow or next tuesday? Theyve confirmed that it will be backdated but unsure of if they only do payments on Tuesday? Id really appreciate if someone has any info, thank you xx

3-5 working days for back pay then what day you get paid it will be every 4 weeks either a Tuesday or Wednesday going forward

I will most definitely keep fighting for him, he deserves this. It gives me hope to hear of children the same age as my son aswell. I was nearly in tears on the phone, trying to stay calm, but also putting across the point of how unbelievable this really was.
But I did say I will just keep applying and applying until we are listened to 😔

Sorry to hear. What was your MR scan date? You should defo appeal. You will be entitled to your backpay. And can collect evidence. X

puglover93 · 07/10/2024 17:54

Hi, I’ve got a new claim for my son who’s 2 and who has GDD and suspected autism (awaiting assessment) scan date was the 31st May. I’m so so nervous because I don’t think I completed the form with enough detail but I did send in his health visitor 24 month check questionnaire which shows just how behind he is (he scored 30 out of 185 so he’s quite severely delayed) will they look at that and be able to see that do you think? I called today and they said we’re top of the pile so should receive a decision soon but I’m really stressing about it all!

bolopast · 07/10/2024 18:45

Its really disappointing 😔
I was 21 weeks MR, the gentleman said next step is tribunal, but that can take longer than the combined time we have waited already, which I couldn't bear, so I'm going to go in with a fresh claim. I have requested new forms and we have new evidence, so we're see if we have better luck this time 🤞

HangryLimeBeaker · 07/10/2024 19:54

@Anxiouslywaitingmum did you hear back from your MR? xx

Did you send any more evidence in? Did you go in great detail on the form, hopefully you hear very soon for your little one

Thanks so much for replying, went into quite a bit of detail but not loads as I kind of rushed through it a bit if I’m honest. I sent his paediatrician reports which states about the GDD and his delays and his physio reports which states he needs a lot more support because of his delays. I just didn’t write on the form why he is different to a ‘normal’ 2 year old but I’m guessing they will know that anyway won’t they because they’ll be comparing him to that? And the HV questionnaire is based on what he should be doing and he’s not doing any of it. I just hope they can see how much extra support he does need.
thank you

Yeah that sounds good to me, I never compared my son to a normal child of his age but can show his needs. Fingers crossed you hear so soon for your little one, hopefully they finish end of May start of June now

Hi, I have done a new claim for my son, Application said it would be backdated from 01/07/24 and deadline was 12/08/24 to submit. I received a letter to say they received all my information on the 08/08/24, so is the 8th my scan date? I know I am not long into the process, however I was wondering how many weeks everyone started to phone up to get updates? dont want to call too early!

I received a letter from them last week apologising for the time it's taking and that they will keep me updated, but still stated it's currently taking 15 weeks and I do not need to call them.

Very new to this, so sorry for the questions :)

I'm 15 weeks in and I rang end of last week just to see if I had time to send in extra evidence. I'd at least wait till 15+ weeks as its very rate to get anything sooner. Yes the 8th is your scan date. So 15 to 20 weeks from them is the average time to hear back. Sometimes longer it all depends on each applicant.

I feel like my pregnancy went faster than this 😅 I've got another 5 ish weeks to go and I'm on pins

890slp · 07/10/2024 23:01

they lost first lot of forms, they treated it as a new claim, scanned 19/06 xx

Is anyone else dreaming about DLA?! 🤣. I’m 16 weeks in now and just want to know either way.

AnneD96 · 08/10/2024 09:40

Still no update wouldn’t tell me if it was with a dm but said I’m down to have a text with the decision so hopefully I do 🤞🏼🤞🏼 will try again next week 19 weeks on Friday ☺️

I feel ya. I'm 17 weeks in and feels like so much longer than that already!!

Summermightbegreat · 08/10/2024 10:28

I'm 18 weeks now. I think I'll have to change my mindset from expecting it by 20 and just say to myself, it'll be done by Christmas, because the waiting and expecting is just too much, mentally. In the time it's taken for DLA to be processed I've had a LCWAR application approved and a PIP assessment date set for myself, and to be honest I thought the DLA would be all wrapped up with it.

Charliesmama09 · 08/10/2024 10:44

Just seen on the Facebook group someone’s been awarded with the scan date 10/06 if anyone on here is near that date

Dottie86 · 08/10/2024 11:05

Wow, our SD is 04/06 and not heard anything. Which Facebook group is it? Thanks

Mines the 7th I rang up last week they told me I’d hear back by 25th October and the groups called DLA for children: advice and support
