@paperdove074 I’m so worried there going to contact my daughters school and there not going to back me up, as she shows some signs in school but mostly at home, the school did refer her for ND assessment so really hoping it’s enough x

hi , not posted for a couple weeks but I have an update… Dla responded to our appeal and it wasn’t resolved so now I am waiting for a hearing/tribunal date …. So looks like I have many months longer of waiting and fighting for my son… I don’t know what else I can do at this stage I have sent a few diaries, cover letters , supporting letters from others all outlining the care needs being far greater and giving compassions as well as reports from paeds, salt, eyit and now ref to sleep clinic… I am convinced that it’s purely about them being stubborn about his age as the evidence is clear about higher care needs … congratulations to all of you that was awarded so far and good luck to those still fighting Dla for what is entitled x x

Oh wow MR was handled quickly! Sorry it wasn't what you was hoping for. Fingers crossed you get the result from tribunal xxx

I believe you can refuse on the original forms to contact 3rd parties but I imagine if you refuse and they don't have enough evidence they'd frown on it 🫣 There's so many new staff I'm really worries she won't get through to someone who will help! Such a nerve wracking time isn't it!

SD 13/05. first time posting, just wanted to give others near my scan date a rough idea, though I haven’t had a decision yet. Rang today and it has been allocated a DM.

VP2024 · 12/09/2024 13:52

@AKHJ23 my scan date is 21/5 and I am in a similar situation with extra evidence. Unsure whether it’s too late - if you speak to them could you let me know what they say? Going to try to call today too ☺️

Hi, I've not long spoken to them. They said it's not too late to send it from what they can see, but I asked them to make a note of the additional evidence (now on medication and awaiting sleep clinic) on the system in case a decision is made before it reaches them.

Ah amazing thank you! I’m going to send it off tomorrow hopefully then, no harm I suppose! Hopefully it’s not too long until we hear back.

Just place marking.
2/5 for us, strongly expecting we’ll be refused but we’ll see.

Definitely ring when you get the chance just to check the progress, hopefully they got some good news for you 🤞 someone said they can take upto 2weeks with DM I guess if they need to contact schools/doctor ect waiting for their reply can be time consuming, my child isn't even in the school she was in when I completed the forms as she was Year 6 now gone to high school so I'm hoping if they contact the primary they will still respond.

Scan date 03/05 18+5 weeks, I thought mine was long 😱 have you rang? Is it a new claim or MR?

New claim and I’ve rang a few times .. still no decision yet could really use it now though at the edge of my seat with every text

The wait is horrible isn't it especially when you get this far too, I'm the exact same! Hope you hear soon and it's successful 🙏

MelTom88 · 12/09/2024 21:50

Just looking to see if anyone has any advice. My boy has hrc already, when he turned 3 they sent out the forms for mobility. Originally turned down and requested MR. Accepted on 17/06.
Rang on 2/9 to be told its with a DM. Still heard nothing.
I have a feeling it is because he has been refused again. Consultant sent letter stating "virtually unable to walk due to SMI)
I don't know what more proof I could have sent.
Anyone had this long of a wait with a DM?

Wishing you good luck! It all varies and to be fair I wouldn’t believe I what the call handlers say. If it is really bothering you phone up agian for the update. MR are taking a long time I am currently waiting for my MR decision after turning down COC with tons of evidence. It’s laughable it comes down to the fact that your child is 3. Hopefully you hear soon x

MelTom88 · 13/09/2024 11:20

Thanks @zoeybrooks45
I've rang again this morning, the woman claimed it hadn't been assigned a case worker. When I queried her and said in the previous call it was already with a decision maker, she retracted and said oh, it's an error, it is with a case worker.
I'm not sure what to believe now.
Not feeling all that hopeful and the waiting is unbearable.
Hope others have their answers soon xx

Hey, been a silent reader for a while, our scan date is the beginning of may, can't remember which date exactly I'm at work and the paperwork is at home.

However I called a few weeks back to chase, and was told it was with a DM, I chased yesterday and unfortunately got a very upbrupt man telling me I was wrong and it hasn't been with a DM yet, and to call back on the 19th September if I haven't heard anything. He made me aware that they're waiting for my daughter's SENCO to reply, however I wait weeks for a reply myself, what would happen if she doesn't reply to them? We've put the childminder on the form too, whose known my daughter longer (5 years!) and they haven't contacted her yet? The closer it gets to the 19th the more I believe we're going to be denied.
My daughter has SALT, cleft pallet, dyspraxia, autism, a genetic condition etc, although she doesn't have an EHCP, she has a SEN profile in school, which I've seen all information to DLA about.

I feel like I'm rambling now, I'm just a very tired, anxious mamma 🫣😅
