I just called scan date 31/5 no update or decision has been made yet and guy told me to wait up to 20 weeks before calling again

Chenanceau · 02/10/2024 09:52

I have received my payment today. Scan date 23/5, approval date 28/9. We got HRC, LRM (for my ASD daughter who does not sleep). Can't believe it. It finally feels like someone has listened.

Hesxboon · 02/10/2024 11:17

Does anyone know how long the backdated payment of child disability element is taking? I’ve been paid this month and they e added one payment on but not backdated it. Have phoned and asked for it to be backdated last week and they e said it’ll go to a decision maker now.

Congratulations, that must be such a nice feeling for you. I'm really hoping for something of the same in the next few days or week.

My son's COC claim is at top of pile to be allocated to a DM scan date 7/06 should hear in a few weeks but I will be calling every other day 😆

MrsW12 · 02/10/2024 13:53

It’s been so quiet on awards this week. I wonder if there’s a gap between scan dates and they are working on June now

Sarahlou15 · 02/10/2024 14:29

I really hope so. 15 weeks on Friday and the anxiety is really kicking in. I get dla for my 11 year old based on personal care needs, but I’m worried my 4 year olds age will go against me. I’ve given some evidence and told them loads of information but you just don’t know do you x

I worry alot too u know,.even when I tell myself am not going too.
I have never been so worry and anxious like this before. Not even when I was younger and waiting for my GCSE or my driving licence so many years ago.
It's really weird to feel this way even when I know I still have another chance (MR) If I was declined.
It's just so hard to think of something else when am alone 😅
So I feel what u mean lovely xx

Can someone help me, my scan date is 25/06 currently at 14 weeks. My son is non verbal autistic he's 2 years 6 months. He's just had an assessment to see exactly how delayed he is and what age he's currently at. Out of the 8 different skill areas he got assessed on he's a year to a year and a half behind. I have a sheet documenting this and I'm just wondering is this useful to dla. The only evidence I had was his asd diagnosis report so shall I send this in as extra evidence is it worth it? Also would it get there on time before my claim is assessed. As of yesterday we hadn't been allocated a dm yet. Thank you for any help

19 weeks tomorrow and still waiting! This is so hard

StrawberryMarshmallows · 03/10/2024 02:18

Sorry if this has been asked already but does anyone know what you write on your universal credit journal to let them know your child now receives DLA? Do you have to wait for the letter? And do you have to specify you want payments backdated or will they automatically do it? Also what’s the difference between carers element and carers allowance? Confused by it all!

Hi, first you do a change of circumstances on who lives with you on that child. One of the questions is do they recieve DLA. Put down the date it has been backdated to.
It will state "why didn't you notify within that assessment period" (or something along those lines)
Pop a message in your journal to state "for the reference of backdated payments owed to me for the disabled child element, the reason I didn't declare within the assessment period when they were first eligible, is due to the dwp only just notifying and back paying me this month"
As for carers element vs carers allowance, the element is an additional payment on your UC, carers allowance is a separate payment made which is taken pound for pound from your UC payment total. You can claim the element without the carers allowance, you just need to do a change of circumstance that you now care for someone for 30 hours or more.
Long winded as I'm not the best at explaining but I hope this helps x

Has anyone who's scan date is in June been awarded yet?

Hey everyone. Does anyone know how long renewals are taking to be processed these days? My son’s DLA claim is due to end at the beginning of next year, so is it about the right time now for me to start getting a claim form and sending it off?
