Has anyone been granted dla but not received a text? I just phoned and been told a decision was made on he 27th but I have to wait for the letter to arrive

I was awarded yesterday but I didn't get a text x

Update: was a decline, listed extensive reasons why and basically whoever they spoke to at nursery said he was fine which is gutting as isn’t true, but really hopeful for everyone here and will put in MR when I have the headspace x

Oh I am so so sorry. Definitely put in an MR. On your form, did you state that he needed extra help with personal care or to avoid causing danger to himself or others? This seems to be the criteria for some reason.

Yes nursery basically said he doesn’t need any extra care which is incredibly frustrating as there’s a care plan in place and the man on the phone said it was stated there’s none. He has just gone to a new room with new keyworker so my assumption is it’s been given to her to fill in and not the one who he’s been with through the care plan. If awarded I planned to drop my hours at work to be with him and reduce his nursery hours and I’m so gutted and deflated I can’t x

That’s so frustrating for you. Did someone fill in the part where someone else knows your child? I honestly don’t get why some DMs contact school/nursery and some don’t. Don’t give up.

@emw138 we're in the same boat as you I think our dd is epileptic she's 21 months old had a few big fits and has daily absences, 1st bog was so scary the hospital had to breath for her,she was only 9 months at that time but it is so scary, you should appeal have to be on the look out every day sending you big hugs and loads of luck

Nicholeamelia98 · 01/10/2024 10:28

Scan date 25/06 rang today just to see where we were at and have not been allocated a dm yet. Wasn't expecting much just had hoped 🤣 my little one is 2 and a half we've got a diagnosis of asd. He's at this stage non verbal and delayed in almost every aspect. Just worried as the only evidence I had was his diagnostic report.

Momofboyosx4 · 01/10/2024 10:35

S/D 21/05
Back payment received in bank today.
No award letter as of yet.
My son is 10 years old and on the ASD pathway for diagnosis. He is home educated since February this year as a result of his extreme anxiety.
The only evidence I had to send was his paediatrician letter from our initial face to face appointment to start the process of diagnosis.
Keep the faith everyone 🤞

Oh dear 🤦🏻‍♀️ try again Friday! You are only 4 or 5 days behind.
I feel like Friday is your day!
Ours was 20 weeks and 3 days x

I will try again, they will love me 🫣 but at least today I wasn't asked when did I last ring them for an update 🤣
Deep down I feel another decline, just for the really random unreal reason before, but at least I will know to go on to the next step 😀

Spat77 · 01/10/2024 11:59

Hi guys, I’m just wondering the DLA forms have all been done by my partner so when I rang to see if they’d recieved them they wouldn’t let me answer the security questions it had to be him, I did say I was the child’s mother but apparently still couldn’t. Anyway can he ring and basically ask them to put on their system to give me permission to talk about it aswell just so I don’t have to give him the phone to answer the security questions before I talk to them🙈 Thankyou😌😌

AmberScroller · 01/10/2024 13:40

I’ve just called to see if they have recieved my evidence. ASD diagnosis, global developmental delay diagnosis, mri scan and eeg of the brain scan. Scan date 13/06 she said my application was due to go to a dm at the end of the month. Just for those wondering with later dates than me.

Opthjt · 01/10/2024 13:50

SD 18/06- I just rang to ask if they’d received my additional evidence (adhd report and official diagnosis) and she said yes all OK. We never got a letter to confirm receipt so she’s sending it back out to me so I have the ref numbers. I hope it all goes well as the clinician just backed up my additional care needs for him in the report so fingers crossed xx

Mommyp95x · 01/10/2024 16:46

Scan date 12/6

i didn’t think much about it at first but as we’re getting closer to 20 weeks it’s all I can think about lol 🙈

I don't think so or we was told that that wasn't possible. Dh dealt with 2 of our children's claims and he was the only one that could call up.
This time Im dealing with it.

Hey everyone :) I’m feeling so nervous!! Sent back my daughters forms 28/09/24, can I ask how long it took for everyone to get their scan date? They needed to be sent back by 03/10/2024, and I have proof of postage. Just really worried they will think they are “late” if they are scanned after 03/10? Royal Mail tracking isn’t updating, I called RM and they said because DWP is bulk delivery it might not update.

Ticketyboo74 · 01/10/2024 18:24

Hi lovely people , I’ve been following this thread for quite a while but it’s my first time posting ,my scan date was the 13/05 and I phoned last Friday to be told my forms aren’t with a DM yet, my daughters 14 and been diagnosed with depression and severe anxiety as well as autism , she’s on quite a bit of medication because she was self harming to the point she was needing stitches and hospital stays, she’s also not sleeping at night so has medication to help but it makes her so fatigued the next day she struggles at school , she’s currently at main stream but has a sens teacher come in most days to help her , she’s what they call a high functioning autistic child as she excels at maths and science to the point she knows more than her tutors, she has to be watched 24/7 in case she harms herself and others , I have carers sometimes stay to help if I’m ill and can’t manage, (recently had a stroke) and I have severe crohns and arthritis x4 types that’s very active at the moment , I’m having to pay for taxis to and from school if I can’t take her , her school is 4.6 miles away and isn’t cheap via taxi, im desperately running out of money to get her to school and back and she refuses public transportation due to her anxiety and not being left alone . Does anyone know how much longer I will have to await a decision? I did try asking but just got told it’s in a queue😔

Often decision makers are the ones that decide if they will go with ur scan date or the date u first call but in my case, I had to Send my proof of postage (royal mail) with my ds birth certificate.
I have asked the decision maker ,a week earlier, when she first called to request my son's birth certificate. She said to me that, as long as I have proof of postage before the supposed date,it's fine.
If am awarded, it will count from the date I first called.
I sent my form 2 days before the due date

Thank you so much! I’ll just have to wait and see I guess :) I’ve kept my proof of postage safe just in case x

That sounds really rough, have you spoken to your local authority about help with taxis? Hopefully you should hear soon as been reading on here mostly second and third week of May getting theirs approved recently.

I have mlovely but I have no chance as Birmingham city council are cutting down all costs , my only option is to keep her home on the days I can’t take her etc 🙄😔. I don’t want that to happen either as she needs structure and normality and doesn’t cope well with change .

I sent mine 11/9/24 and tracked on Royal Mail and they arrived and was signed for at 6:10am 12/9/24 and then I received a letter 18/9/24 dated the 12th, was all scanned in same day. I would ring them and ask if it’s all scanned in yet

It was sent 24 hour tracked. I called today and he said it hasn’t been scanned yet but said it can take up to 10 days. I’ll be absolutely heartbroken if Royal Mail have lost it and I need to start again :(

Has it been delivered though, and you have proof of it you should be ok,I always pay for special delivery it's a lot more money each time but I don't have trouble then something to think about if you need to send more info on future
