DLA WAIT TIMES THREAD 51

Have received a letter from DWP this morning. It says my son has been awarded DLA and lists my key responsibilities as an appointed person.
Letter is dated 24th September. No other information regards length of award or amounts. I've had no texts or phone calls. Scan date 21/05.
Has anyone else had one of these letters?

He has just turned 8 x

Positive News,

Printed forms and received 23/05, backdate payment pending in the bank. I called and spoke to a really helpful person. HRC & LRM awarded until 2031. My son is 5 and I did send quite a lot of evidence. Good luck to everyone else waiting 🙂

My daughter is only 2 which is what worries me, I heard it’s really hard to get dla when they’re younger. She’s under
so many professionals though so I’m hoping that will go in her favour :(

I just called for a update.
Lady on the phone said a decision was made today but she couldn't tell me what it was.
I asked did I could be out through to someone who could.

Omg I could cry, we've been awarded.
I was only expecting LRC but we got HRC and LRM.
I'm sorry but what the actual f**k.
I cried on the phone.
I feel like I'm in a dream.
I've finally been listened to!!!!
MR scan date 10/5 backdated to 20/12/23

@Momofboyosx4 i had the same letter come through with my daughters award letter, it must be a new thing there doing to make sure you understand that the extra money is for them congrats on your award x

Seeing the same scan dates as you being awarded and still waiting is making me feel like we have been turned down! Rang today and still with DM. SD 23/5. Man on phone said I would hear by October 11th at latest. Not sure my nerves will hold out til then….

That is amazing, congratulations! 😃 OMG, my heart sunk for a moment when I read they couldn't tell you, but seriously that is amazing and to have higher than expected aswell, it has made the wait so worth it in the end & I don't blame you for crying, I would be bawling me eyes out 😄 Oh I'm so nervous now, I'm 20 weeks MR now, but I've suddenly become to scared to call 🤣

Does anyone know how long it takes to get payment once you receive the text. I received my text on Saturday 28/09 to say my child qualifies. Thank you

Normally 3-5 days I would say between tomorrow and Friday it’ll go in

Scan date 28/05

Rang just now and was told a decision has been made but couldn’t tell me anymore, plan to ring again later to try and get someone to tell me. Expect a decline very heavily because he is 3 and epileptic and not read positive things about awards for this age or his needs.

But good indication for others of the same date! 😊

Stay optimistic. Remember every decision maker is different and that this goes on the additional care and support your child needs against that of children their age. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, but appeal in a mandatory reconsideration if needs be.

It's been a week already and it's only Tuesday, so I'm not expecting anything positive to stop the streak of destruction, haha 🙃

Has anyone been granted dla but not received a text? I just phoned and been told a decision was made on he 27th but I have to wait for the letter to arrive

Ours was 20 weeks and 3 days x

I had this yesterday and I asked to be out through to someone who could tell me. I was out through to a DM and she was lovely. Call them again. The not knowing is awful x

Just a vent. I refuse to ring this week, although the urge is crippling. MR with scan date 12/06. Been told twice it was with a decision maker, to then be told it wasn't.
It's such a shame that it all depends on the call handler as to the empathy you get in the situation we are in fighting for the rights of our kids.
I've had a few very polite and few that speak to me as though I inconvenience their day.
The struggle in the wait game is real!
