W@Matthews89 did you put the date you was rewarded when you updated your child’s details? I did mine and it said to call within 5 days to explain why I’ve only just reported the change.

Edited

W@Dunwaiting i put it on my journal last week or before I said my son has been awarded DLA from the 15th may and Just got a note back saying it is with a decision maker

Hopefully they change their minds for you 🙂I sent off 19 pages of evidence but I’m not hopeful at all. I sent it recorded delivery this time as someone said they deal with the paid postage quicker not entirely sure how true that is though x

To be honest they already have everything I have. I can't do anything else until 2 reports come through I'm waiting on. But the amount they have I don't think they should have refused him. What were you refused on if you don't mind me asking? X

I personally think so many people are fraudulently claiming that’s why they are refusing so many others. I got refused because apparently my son doesn’t need help with personal care and he can walk unaided x

Moanalot6 · 28/09/2024 20:31

I hate to say it but I agree. I think it's become a fad now, which makes it so much harder for those in genuine need of help and support. The work load seems to be horrific causing huge delays. Mine was knocked back because he is verbal and apparently that means he doesn't mean criteria of severe mental impairment. I've put in for a MR but I'm not expecting them to change their mind.

Ohhh great I’m in for the long haul then 😞

Unfortunately, it seems all the declines has resulted in MR backlogs 😔

Anyone know how long the wait is for a mandatory reconsideration is? X

Fingers crossed for you. Hopefully you get a fair decision maker this time x

For all that got awarded, I was wondering if your could help. My child is 4 so I don’t think we would qualify for personal care, but she does need a lot of support to keep her and others safe. I was on the phone for half an hour last week adding extra information. She has no awareness of danger at all. She does things like eating nappy cream, drinking paint water, can’t be left alone in a room at home incase she does something random. Wakes her baby sister up, hides her dummy, sits on her, throws things at her. Lies down in the road in public, spends a lot of time in the toilet in school, draws on walls etc. Do you think this is enough to quality? TIA x

They compare her age to a normal child of similar age so if she does need more looking after then a typical 4 year old then you would qualify, you wouldn't qualify for mobility unless you get HRC because she's under 5. My son was 2 & 1/2 when we got HRC a few months ago I'm currently going through COC for mobility side so it just depends do you think she needs more looking after then apply and send in as much evidence you can to add to the claim

MrsW12 · 29/09/2024 15:15

Thank you for your reply. I’d say she needs more looking after than a child of the same age. My nieces are a couple of months younger than her and they seem so much more grown up. I’ve sent in as much evidence as I could and told them loads of information on what she does x

StrawberryMarshmallows · 30/09/2024 11:11

Just rang up for an update after getting the text saying we’d been accepted. Confirmed high rate care and low rate mobility until 2028. For anyone worrying about their evidence the only evidence I sent was his diagnosis report and his learning support plan from school. So happy he’s finally getting what he deserves. Just waiting for back pay now.

That’s all I sent too so I’m feeling less anxious about it now 🙂 when was your scan date?
