@Mommy2boys30 yeh this is why it is thought she may be ADHD she switches on the lights goes down stairs climbs everywhere and jumps around. She also smears but that isn't as often as it used to be. The school report says she is tired and EHCP briefly mentions sleep difficulties

I can't see why they would change her award do you have HRC and LRM

Mummytodo · 28/09/2024 06:40

@Mommy2boys30 yes we do. She is in a mainstream school ATM and the school can't meet her needs so we are also going to tribunal for a Sen school. I thought we may get vuw or smi on renewal as her behaviour has gotten abit worse she gets physical now when having a meltdown where as she use to just drop to the floor or run

@Mommy2boys30 @MumToThreeLittleOnes thank you both for your reply. I have spoken to the nursery prior to him starting and when I have asked about him they have said haven’t said anything of any concern yet apart from he is very active and does push the boundaries abit. He has only been there 2 weeks. He has had these behavioural and night needs since he was 9months old and I have sent it the reports from the paediatrician, his home assessment report for asd and his face to face assessment report for asd. We are waiting for a ADOS assessment now but I think I’m worried as I have sent this off now and it turns out he isn’t ASD, I can always withdraw my claim can’t I? I may be overthinking this now

I'm sure you would be able to withdraw your application. I have been refused the assessment for adhd and I'm still making the claim for dla as my son still requires extra support although there is no diagnosis. I'm still waiting to hear about a decision so not sure if my claim will be refused because he has been refused the assessment. So I'm not too sure how it would all work.

012345k · 28/09/2024 07:12

@MumToThreeLittleOnes have you been refused due to the child’s age or their needs?

The letter said his some of his behaviour was typical for a child in his situation as when I made the application we were going through difficult times. So I will be waiting a while to make another adhd referral. His care needs and behaviour hasn't changed. The referral was made back in Oct 2023 and they have only just got back to me

I'm back again..does anyone know about mandatory reconsideration..I've been given a reason for refusal ( for smi high rate mobility)and I've sent more reasoning and evidence for that point... have all other points been looked at or will they try to find more reasons?

I'm in the waiting game for MR for Mobility under SMI rules.
I'm apprehensive on the outcome as all I have sent in is the supporting letter from his consultant stating he is virtually unable to walk as he has a severe mental impairment.
Everything I put on the original form that was refused remained the same. I'm now overthinking that I should have broken down the flow they use and explained it that way.
They didn't give me much explanation when they refused.

Been silently following this post. I've received a text this morning saying my child qualifies for DLA.
Scan date was 05/08. I'm unsure why it was so quick. He had DLA previously that ran out on the 17th June and they lost my renewal so I had to start a whole new claim so I'm unsure if this is why it was faster. Just thought I'd let you guys know :)
Unsure what he's been awarded but I'm ho happy. Hope you all get the decison soon x

That's my concern.. i don't know if they have to go through all and send u reasons..or if they stop at first reason,.then find more when you request reconsideration. This letter I've done is 7 pages long to cover all points but I'm worried it's too long and they won't read it all x

Mine is also to prove severe mental impairment. But my brain is telling me just to challenge that, but if they haven't completed the flow chart last time, will they find more reasons? .. I don't know how it works 😕 🤷

Matthews89 · 28/09/2024 11:23

How long does it take to hear back from the decision maker and Did you get it on your journal

Matthews89 · 28/09/2024 11:45

How long does it take for universal credit to respond and pay for disability element I put a note on my journal now it's with a decision maker

Billie87 · 28/09/2024 11:55

@Matthews89 we are coming up to 6 weeks. It went to a DM and apparently there is no timescale

Caramelbear1985 · 28/09/2024 13:47

Anyone know how long the wait is for a mandatory reconsideration is? X

I don’t have any evidence at all, going to ask nursery to write a statement. I’m just praying we get accepted based on the fact my daughter has been referred to/is under lots of professionals xx

I have just received a text saying that my daughter qualifies. No idea of what rates or anything. Scan date 23/05. All I sent was ASD diagnosis report and used the cerebra guide to fill in the form. I didn’t get anyone else to complete the witness part. So loads of evidence definitely not required (for anyone else worrying).

I had a chat with them on Thursday and they said 15 weeks...I have a feeling it's much longer though.

Yeah I have that feeling too! Did you send off any additional information or just done it over the phone?

A letter and 1 more piece of evidence x

Dunwaiting · 28/09/2024 15:30

W@Matthews89 did you put the date you was rewarded when you updated your child’s details? I did mine and it said to call within 5 days to explain why I’ve only just reported the change.

Hopefully they change their minds for you 🙂I sent off 19 pages of evidence but I’m not hopeful at all. I sent it recorded delivery this time as someone said they deal with the paid postage quicker not entirely sure how true that is though x
