Just on hold for an update now even though it’s only been 11 weeks! Scan date 12/07. I’m so impatient lol

Dunwaiting · 27/09/2024 07:23

@mummy2boys30 so it’s best not to ask for carers to be back dated just start it from the day you claim?

It's completely up to you, you don't lose anything because your not better of or worse of if that makes sense so if you get it CA backdated from whenever UC claim it all back same amount, but it depends on your wages if you work and if you need the proof you have been caring for someone for so long if that makes sense

I'm 7/6 but COC not new claim and still nothing hopefully only 2 or so weeks away as seeing middle to end of May coming in now

Moanalot6 · 27/09/2024 11:07

Morning everyone. Can I just ask please, when dms are making decisions on mobility, do they go by the 5 smi rules.. or the more indepth flowchart please?

Just rang them hoping they’d say it was with a decision maker he just said they haven’t made a decision yet and I’d find out by the 25th of October 🫠 then I asked if they’d received my extra evidence he said no but they’ve received a hand written note, that’s my extra evidence 😂

AKHJ23 · 27/09/2024 11:38

Update -

Scan date: 20/05 (though they are saying it is actually 22/05 now)
Decision: 26/09

MRC, LRM.

I could argue that it should be HRM under SMI and perhaps HRC as she needs some night care but in all honestly, I'm just pleased it's not a decline and we can use the money to help DD.

Good luck to all those still waiting!

Motherlysweet · 27/09/2024 11:49

An idea for anyone with a scan date 21/06...

I was having the time and curiousity,so I called dla today. The call went through straight away, a nice guy asked if I was chasing my application,I said yes. After security, told me it's with a decision maker but no decision yet.when I ask how long. He just said he's not sure but latest will be next month ending or beginning of November and added that decision are often made before the latest date.xx
yea, still got some few weeks to wait. Fingers crossed 🤞

There is VUW or SMI rule, the SMI rule is more complicated then VUW,even though there is only 5 reasons to get it I think there check list is a lot longer which is why it's so hard to fight for it and not given as easily

18 weeks today, scan date 23/5 and still patiently but anxiously waiting!!!! I’m feeling apprehensive about it all now, questioning whether I’ve sent enough info. It’s a long time to wait for a decline and will be so deflated for my child.

23/05 for us too, I have a feeling we will be declined as the only evidence I have was her diagnosis report (ASD). Everything else is just my word for it as we get no support - and cannot afford to pay for support (eg private OH) without the DLA money. So it is a catch-22.

I don’t have any evidence at all, going to ask nursery to write a statement. I’m just praying we get accepted based on the fact my daughter has been referred to/is under lots of professionals xx

VP2024 · 27/09/2024 13:38

Just another update from me

I gave them a ring the lady was super nice and put me through to someone to confirm the award.

Confirmed MRC and LRM - back pay will be paid on Tuesday 1st.

xx

Mommyp95x · 27/09/2024 13:54

Scan date 12/06

Called today and got through to a lovely lady who told me it’s not yet with a decision maker and I am looking at another 5 week wait, she also confirmed my extra evidence had been scanned on.

Loulou12321 · 27/09/2024 14:21

Scan date 23/5- 18 weeks 1 day, with a DM today. So it’s a waiting game now.

mamof3darlings · 27/09/2024 16:26

@HangryLimeBeaker I’ve had my 1st letter off UC saying the decision maker accepted the reasons how long after that did you get the 2nd letter saying how much they owe you? Xx

Looking for some advice if anyone can help, my eldest son receives DLA currently but was unaware of this until he was 12yrs and should have been getting this since he was 2 due to his care needs. Long story short I have just applied for my nearly 4yr old who is on the pathway for ASD and I am sure he is ADHD. He has just started nursery and they don’t seam to raise any concerns as yet but he is like a bottle of shook up coke at home and doesn’t sleep at all at night. He has meltdowns over anything, I couldn’t even say why. Not sure if he is entitled to this as he has no diagnosis yet and has no workers (eldest son had portage at 1 and a number of workers). My question is have I don’t the right thing applying, I have done this time round as my eldest lost out of 10years of support. Any advice or opinions are welcome

Dunwaiting · 27/09/2024 19:00

@mumof3darlings I’ve just done the change of circumstances on uc updating my daughter’s disability and the caring for someone part was it right to put the date she was awarded? Also do I need to call them to explain why I’m only reporting it now? X

You can apply without diagnosis I have my son just gets help from school, nothing was picked up from his nursery until he was leaving for reception. Ask the nursery to observe your little one for a few weeks, raise your concerns and always ask for their advice and they should help. I was just refused an adhd assessment for my son who's 5, so you may have to wait a while before you can have an assessment I heard they don't like diagnosing children under 11

It's all about their needs not diagnosis so don't worry about that and if he's needs are more then a child of similar age then you should be fine, isn't there any kind of evidence to help your claim if you got an ASD pathway acceptance then there should be some evidence to send in with it, have you done it yet or sending it in soon? There is long waits at the minute so the faster you get it in the better then you can always add more as you go

Hi
We are up for renewal soon and I wondered if anyone had any experience or can advise.it is our first renewal DD receives hrc she is almost six. Since the last award DD has been diagnosed ASD is still on NHS waiting list for GDD ADHD and help with sleep. Daughter needs alot of support as she is SPD and get very overwhelmed and also is not able to communicate her wants and needs she can say some words but not for functional language.

We are also under the continence team. DD has amazingly started to use the toilet in the day and after alot of support also in school. Needs guidance/reminders help with dressing and wiping. We are still under continence team for night and bowel issues due to restricted diet and pica. DD now has an EHCP.

Is it like award will be lowered now she can use the toilet?

Does your daughter sleep at night or are you awake with her through the night or help and support her for long periods of time?
If you need to help her a lot through day and night then you won't have to worry
