Same scan date for a COC, refused also. Dreadful that have to do MR Now but if we don't fight for our kids, who will x

I gave my reasons over the phone so the scan dates is not more behind. That could be an option for yourself as the new scan date will be when they recieved MR. You can always follow up with reasons and extra evidence etc, my letter took about a week to come. X

It's a week today apparently but no letter yet. How did you know what they have not agreed about? He said I could do mr over phone but I didn't know why they had said no so was told to wait for letter. If it passes on MR is it paid from date of MR or from original COC date please?

Summermightbegreat · 24/09/2024 19:31

What is COC, just to ask?

It’s backdated paid from original scan date of COC, but this means you won’t have to wait long for a decision as the letter could delay. When I asked for MR over phone the lady went through the points one by one explaining each note. To be honest it was much more thorough then the one on the letter that stated “ your child does not show etc”. It was very vague and wasn’t even one sheet of explanation, which emphasises my point on being refused without going through the evidence.

Thank you
This makes sense. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and do it over the phone. Thank you!! Did they tell you how long it would take roughly? I think our claim has landed on a desk of someone who hasn't even bothered to read it. I sent sooo much info. X

So sick of waiting now. Just want to know! Scan date 20/05. Rang and he said to ring back after 20 weeks if not heard back. Getting more and more anxious that I haven’t put enough info or sent enough evidence. Ahhh.

I've just had a letter saying my child has been refused an adhd referral. Do you think this will impact my outcome as it was refused because 'his behaviour is typically normal for a person of his age whos been in a difficult situation'. They don't actually know what our situation was or anything now as the referral was made back in 2013. Not sure what to do now

I don't know have you got any more evidence or was hoping for that, it's about your child's needs and not a diagnosis. If you have gone into detail about your child needs then you should be ok

MumToThreeLittleOnes · 25/09/2024 07:49

I didnt have much evidence told them everything I could even got some evidence from his school that he was at when the application was made because they was really struggling with him. I've just moved so waiting for him to get back into school.

Had anyone had a COC refused please? Very confused by the letter, going to call them but thought I'd reach out on here til then.. did u receive reason In The letter for refusal? Mine says they have changed the decision, which they haven't and then goes on to list what they are giving him (same rates as before). I have no idea which parts they don't agree with. Is this a standard letter or is it supposed to tell me why? X

zoeybrooks45 · 24/09/2024 19:13

They should adjust previous months from scan date in record. Then if the issue the letter that states the exact amount from then 3-5 working days but mine came around 24-48hrs later x

You uploaded on your journal you have awarded DLA and would like to claim from your scan date and also request backdate of careers element aswell. They will already have all the information. Someone should reply back on the journal if it has been more than a week call up and state that you wanted the backpay and updated award and nobody has responded on the journal. The backpay takes a while and to process around a few weeks some faster than others
