Morning everyone,
scan date 15/4 long time lurker but you've all been keeping me sane for the past few months.
Just in case anybody else misses a call…I had one from an 0800 number this morning followed by a text asking me to ring back. It was just a question as to why my form was a few days late (made the mistake of not sending it recorded! Should’ve read this forum sooner) the man was lovely and accepted it was free post and said he would get me a decision this morning!

As I was writing this post I just got a text saying my daughters been awarded 🎉🎉🎉 My hands are actually shaking. She is only 14 months but was born with a rare condition and together we have had a really tough year.

Good luck to all of you 💜

Good news!

My scan date was 15/4, new claim. I called today and found out my son has been awarded! Middle rate care, which I was hoping for, and lower rate mobility, which I wasn't even expecting at all Shock It will be up for renewal when he turns 12.

The decision was made yesterday (12/8) so it took 17 weeks exactly. The first person I spoke to told me a letter would be sent within 7-10 working days. I asked if they could give me the decision over the phone and she had to transfer me to someone else who was able to tell me the exact award and the amount of backdated pay I can expect. I know there was someone else who called and was told a decision had been made but not what it was, so might be worth calling again and asking to be transferred?

I just called up to check progress scan date 29/04 they said it’s still being looked at and to call back on 16th sep does this mean that it’s with a decision maker xx

Hi, does anyone know how long renewals are taking? Thanks!

Renewals are taking between 15-20 weeks. If your renewals is due to end earlier you will get a decision just before your award is set to expire.

Hi all

I’ve just looked at the last letter we received about DLA for my DC and it says it was received 2/4/24 but no actual date when it was scanned?

Do I count it from 2/4/24? I keep hearing about scan dates…

TIA

SD 15/4 new claim. Rang up an hour ago and my son has been awarded MRC/LRM on 12/8 till 2027. So happy for him as he can get the things he needs to help him more with his learning now. Congratulations everyone that’s been awarded and good luck to those that are waiting.

That’s great news for you and your DS!

Sorry to hijack your post but on your letter does it say scan date? Mine doesn’t, just says received on…

I can’t remember it was a while ago when I got the letter. Sorry not much help x

I've just phoned 3 times, and each time the phone system redirected me to the wrong department. I pressed options 1512 for an update, but I'm sure there was another way to get through, and I thought I'd saved it, but nope. Does anyone have the other option please?

The date they say they received it should be your scan date.

Try 1523. I have it written on a piece of paper next to a crossed out 1512, so I think that was the option I tried after that worked.

Yep, that option did it. Bit of a wait, but got my update. 🙂
New claim, scan date 16/04. Went to decision maker this morning. He said probably won't be this week, but may hear next week.

SD 16/04. I'm in awe of how people get so much info over the phone 😂 called again and was told no decision and they can't tell me anything else not even if it's with a dm and call back in September 😂

Same scan date as you and I was told the same, too. So frustrating isn’t it just tell us already 😂😫

Saweetiee · 13/08/2024 16:46

Hey guys , congrats on all awards !

scan date 17/04 so 17 weeks
Was feeling the positive energy so I called .. they still don’t have a national insurance number for ds (despite me claiming child benefit ) it’s a “clerical case” and saying it could take up to 25 weeks !! I’m gutted ! I am heavily pregnant and was hoping to be able to get things in order for my toddler before the baby comes so that I am not completely overwhelmed and it can be possible but I guess that’s life huh 😒 . Does anyone have any knowledge about this and how long It’s taken in the past ?

MissBeck · 13/08/2024 17:17

@Billie87 @WhereIsMyPhone When I phoned two weeks ago I was fobbed off then with a date of 3rd September and I wasn't going to call again, but after seeing others round our date being awarded I thought Feck it, just ring. I got the sweetest operator ever. He sounded like an elderly chap, really soft spoken and I just said to him I'd received a letter saying 15 weeks, but it's gone past that and could he tell me if there is a problem with my form. He asked the security questions and told me what I posted above. I rang the 1523 options way.

NameChange30 · 13/08/2024 17:25

Our decision was only made yesterday so I think it's good that I called today - if I'd called yesterday they would probably just have said it was with a decision maker. By today the system showed a decision had been made. It's 17+1 for us today so for anyone who is not quite there yet maybe try again in a couple of days.
