Ah ok thank you, I didn't realise it can take up to 2 weeks I thought they were pretty quick from what I've read, i did request a text when a decision is made but iknow they don't always text even when requested

No they ve just said the same to me we will get a text but I didn't with my older daughter

Staria88 · 11/09/2024 10:44

I had an email today saying my daughter's EHCP application has been accepted. This is a process that has taken many years so I'm over the moon.
I decided to call DLA this morning to inform them and asked if I should send a copy once I get it. SD 09/05 and it's with a decision maker so the guy on the phone said he'll make a note of it but there's no point me sending it in unless the DM needs to see it and she may call me if she needs any information.
When I called last week it wasn't even assigned to anyone so fingers crossed I hear soon! 🤞

I spoke to dla today S/D 17/05 and the woman I spoke to told me it’s 25 weeks minimum for new claims can anyone confirm this please? Xxx

25 weeks minimum? That's news to me. It seems most people are awarded between 17-20 weeks. It all depends on which decision makers pile your claim lands on. Some are faster than others.
I was told 20 weeks at the latest for a new claim.

That’s what I’ve been told up to today and I said is that for new claims she said yes call back middle of November if you haven’t heard from us xxx

That sounds far too long!!! I understand they have a backlog but you're only a week behind me and mine is with a DM. I'd personally take it with a pinch of salt and hopefully you'll have a decision before the end of September!
I'll update when I hear something to give you an idea but I expect to hear by the end of next week. x

Just seen on FB a MR date of 5th sept was awarded today 🙄🙄 that's a week!!! A week!!! I'm coming up to week 18 and it just frustrates been. This whole process has been ongoing since 8th January 🥺

I had a dream last night I woke up to a back payment in my account. Needless to say the dream did not come true 🤣

Some decision makers work faster then others, some might be coming back off holiday or some might be on holiday, don't lose faith, just give a ring ever few days for update as it takes 3-5 days for payment and about a week for letter

Oh wow a week I am in the process of gathering new evidence for my MR. I thought I had 25 weeks haha. Will move a bit faster now as I don’t want to risk making decision with my points on the phone call. When is your MR date? Hopefully you hear soon x

My MR scan date is 10/5, I called today for an update but still not been looked at x

Busymumofthreexo · 11/09/2024 14:33

@Mommy2boys30 Thank you, I'm just about holding up you try to put it to the back of your mind but every text you think is this them, it's the not knowing the outcome and all the overthinking of have I explained enough have I given enough evidence and so on, I have half prepared myself for an MR and trying to understand how do this ect. This page has been a great help whilst waiting, wishing everyone the luck for a successful outcome 🙏

Hi,
We still got like 2 weeks more wait before they will move into June.
They are still on the middle of May applications at the moment.
It's coming fast now isn't it xx

rosei140 · 27/09/2024 15:13

Hello,

I'm trying to send me some extra evidence to dvla but I'm not sure what I need to do. Do I have to add a letter to say it's extra evidence.

Hi all been watching for a while my sd not until 3rd July but I was wondering on peoples experience with applying for an older child my daughter is 13 has tourettes hypamobility and suspected adhd she has more care needs then average 3 year old due to leg freezes multiple shoulder dislocations every day her tourettes affect the dislocations as she hits out ect have to have someone with her during tic attacks I just don't see many people applying and getting awarded around this age just wondering I it harder I have sent in a statement of care needs diagnosis letter and school are going to provide a letter with the support she needs in school to help her thank you

I’ve just applied for my 13 yo. It’s mainly because I never knew what dla was! Didn’t even know he could be entitled to it. He’s had extra care needs all his life. His cousin is 4 months older, and his mum (my auntie) dossnt need to do half of the stuff I do xx

Just put your child's name date of birth and the reference number on every piece that you are sending that's it

C1502 · 18/10/2024 10:39

My 12 month old currently gets middle rate I’m about to send off the change of circumstances form as she’s just been registered as severely sight impaired (blind) will this go to higher rate?

Sent for MR - SD;17/10/2024
Called to check received, been informed 25 week wait so 10th April 2025.
Absolutely shocking how can they be so behind. Makes me wanna do their job for them.

Didn't require extra support as any other 4 year old and because he is 4 and not 5 they will not provide mobility and does not meet HRM requirements.
I'm fighting it, it was my first application and didn't have has much evidence. Now I've got a bombload sent off and and ehcp decision coming by the 25th October so fingers crossed that is a yes then dla can swivel 💩 😀

This is what worried me. My child is 4 too. Can I ask what needs your child has?
