@Mammymummymam my SD is 03/04. I called yesterday and they said it with the DM and I should hear back by the 25th but I’m starting to wonder it they just said that to get me off the phone as i’m seeing on FB they’re currently awarding early march SD’s

I'm 01/04 and was told yesterday they're going to the dms at 15 weeks and if I didn't hear by the end of the month then call back, I don't think they actually know what's going on and just say whatever to get you off the phone. I've seen all dates awarded though some beginning, middle and end of march

Holly3020 · 12/07/2024 11:12

positive news for my little boy today.
SD 15/03.
a decision was made yesterday when I rang but couldn’t tell me because their system hadn’t updated. Called just now. He’s been awarded MRC.
i cried happy tears!

@CyanFawn hopefully we get an answer soon!

MotherAndDSon · 12/07/2024 13:18

Still not with DM 🤦🏼‍♀️ they are taking too long 😕

Matilde08 · 12/07/2024 13:24

Hi, ladies 💐

Congrats to all who have been awarded and good luck to everyone who's still waiting 🎊🎉🤞🏻🤞🏻

I have finally finalised my MR letter and have to send it out today as not much time left. Super nervous.. does address where to sent my letter with evidence is the same on decision letter ? As that address seems odd for claim of 9 year old one. But my boys claim is unusual and decision has not been made accordingly his special needs, but family circumstances. And been treated like he's and adult 🙄

This is the address on my son's decision letter:

Bit of advice please

Got awarded mrc and LM two weeks ago, with no evidence, and didnt think we wrote enough.

Today our daughter has been diagnosed with Autism, (been great, all done within 6 momths of doctor referral) and the full report is being written up in the next few weeks.

The Lady at the meeting, thought she might have got a higher award.

The award is for two years, (18 months left now)

Do you think it is wise to do a MR, or we should just leave it, incase it is reviewed down ?

DLA is based on care needs not diagnosis. Assuming you filled out the form stating that she is awaiting the diagnosis and all the extra care needs you do for her. I don’t think it will change much, it’s up to your own judgement but you risk losing the award you have.

Diagnosis won't make a difference as it's based on care needs and they won't of changed just because you have a diagnosis now. You can do a mr but then risk losing the whole award so it's completely up to you. You can send off the diagnosis confirmation at renewal

DamitJamit · 12/07/2024 14:24

Gave in and rang, SD 28/3 I spoke to Pam who was very nice. She said that I was still in the queue, that they go to decision maker at 15 weeks and that it could still be 2 weeks for a decision but she put a note to send me a text when decision was made so I could ring and get the rates. So the same thing other people have been told. I'll probably ring again next Friday as its my last child free moment until September.

Gardenschmarden99 · 12/07/2024 14:45

Scan date 10/04

BusyMamma4 · 12/07/2024 14:54

SD 28/03 so 15+1 weeks still not with a DM
connor said he’ll put it to priority 1 as it’s gone over 15 weeks any idea how long I’m still expected to wait?
panicking incase they contact the school because they breaking up next week
seems as if I’ve waited a lifetime already 🤣

CyanFawn · 12/07/2024 15:46

@KB1994SD we can only hope. It's madness how long it takes and how so many people are told totally different things. I've seen all sorts of dates awarded, even a June date today! Then how it goes over 15 weeks for some and are made priority but others are 17/18 weeks and don't.

Yep, find it really stressful to be honest. Also I'm pretty sure we will be declined and I'll have to fight it, so the sooner I hear a no I can start the next stage lol!

NimbleQuail · 12/07/2024 16:04

Exactly. I think they just say that tbh. Mine went to DM at 16 weeks 5 days and I had already called once at 15 weeks and was just told it was still waiting - nothing about priority etc. I don’t believe a word any of them say!

Murphy47 · 12/07/2024 16:04

I was told it was being looked at last week then this week I was told it could be up beginning of august it’s put me off ring again now , if I’ve not herd anything by 18 weeks I’ll ring again then x sd 20/3 x

Same - I’ll be 18 weeks Thursday and that’s when I’m going to ring. Will have been with DM ten days then…

I'm really sorry if this has been asked, I'm just a bit confused. My son is 5 in December and my SD is 02/04. For the mobility side of things, do they take that into consideration when they make the decision? or would that have to be sorted out after an award has been made? x

If your son is turning 5, he would have been entitled to be assessed for HRM from 3 years old so they would consider it if you filled in the section. If his birthday is so close there is a chance they can award from 5th birthday LRM as others have mentioned previously in the thread in his current outcome.

My sisters son was only ever on mrc and lm he has autism and adhd been in a specialist school since 10 he's now 18 and on pip
As others have said it's based on care need not a diognosis I'd leave it

Brittany95 · 12/07/2024 18:06
