@Maydeanna94 I had it when i made the change 2 days before the end my assessment period. I called UC and told them i made the change within the period so should be on my statement. Call them, tell them it’s within the period. If they try to fob you off ask them to write to the case manager to let you know as soon as it’s verified. Then you can ask for back pay. If they dont ask them (youll see a note on your journal with a time frame if they have) then just request they let you know when verification is complete yourself on the journal. Otherwise its going to take 2-3 month from change of circumstance when it doesnt need to.

Spoke to the case manager about my sons coc to add low rate mobility. Oh my god she was horrible. She's disregarded all evidence, told me it isn't good enough, doesn’t matter that he was awarded hrc in December with the evidence, she wants to cancel his entire award because it isn't good enough. She's given me 2 weeks to submit more supporting evidence . Now the only thing that will appease her is an official autism diagnosis because everything else i can submit isn't going to be good enough. Any recommendations for a private autism assessment please? Need to sort one asap

I’m sorry to hear this. I am also waiting for a COC. I can’t believe she said you don’t have enough evidence. What is the point she is trying to make? Everybody knows of the autism waiting list. Plus a private diagnosis they don’t seem to acknowledge as they ignored all private assessment I gave in before. I would get confirmation of referral and get a teacher/nursery to fill out a letter for you. She is just trying to make you panic. They make it so difficult to claim then overturn at MR. Is there any point to this madness

Hi all, scan date 16/05. This was for a late renewal. I didn't get sent the renewal pack and then rang to get a pack which didn't turn up! After ringing for the third time the pack arrived. I rang them last week to be told the forms got to the DM but was on the system as late renewal they said the forms had to go back to the holding pile as it could be treated as a new claim. All very vague. I've just rang today to be told the form is being treated as renewal but it will be taking 12 weeks. Sorry for the waffle !!

Mammalee5 · 18/06/2024 16:34

Aussielover · 18/06/2024 15:44

@Mammalee5 may I ask what evidence did you have with the original claim x and what additional evidence did you have to support the coc? Xx

My son's home educated, sent in support letter from different clubs, early help assessment, gp referrals
I didn't even care about doing a coc, they sent the forms out for the mobility part because he just turned 5. In December (when new claim was awarded)they told me to fill it in for lrm when it comes as they couldn't award it with the new claim. She said with the clubs "no offence but they're not professional so can be disregarded". She kept saying she was closing it down unless i sent new evidence then saying she had targetss so didn't have time to wait for evidence. Oh and that because my son can speak to us, his parents then it's voluntary mutism not non verbal autism - even though he's non verbal with practically everyone and us most days. She was just rude and very condescending

That is fucking awful and I would be making a complaint about her! How dare she!!

I'll hold off on the complaint until I've sorted out further evidence. Don't want to push her into closing it down for being a petty git.

True, I hadn't thought of that. It doesn't take much for me to snap, and that would have done it 😡

Aussielover · 18/06/2024 16:52

@Mammalee5 unfortunately they do rely heavily on professional input because friends, family or clubs could be influenced on what to say xx the best advice would be, discuss with gp, explain about your son being in receipt of dla and that you need supporting evidence xx
His medical records would count for evidence xx

I called her out every step of the way (probably didn't help) repeated back that she was being condescending, changing her mind and she kept saying, let me explain again so you can understand. Fecking wanted to slap her.

Has your son been looked at for selective mutism at all?
how dare people question you over your own child and his needs! Grrrrrr😡

Gp and early help put him down as non verbal autism after multiple attempts at discussions with him. All sent in. But apparently because it's just referrals for autism tests it doesn't count. Told her medical records will say the same thing, she said it wasn't enough. So then i said an official autism diagnosis is the only thing then, she said it would help but that she wasn't waiting around for that. She's given me 2 weeks

Regardless of new evidence it doesn’t look like in 2 weeks your going to get an autism diagnosis put that complaint in and ask for a different dm / cm to review your claim an Explain you no all calls are logged and recorded and you feel the way she was and has handled your case is extremely unprofessional and she was very condescending,,, how is she trying to disregard professionals in put from GP and early help ? Is beyond me DM/cm are not even educated in anything tbh ,,, I got awarded for my son without a diagnosis and never heard of a DM or CM be so unprofessional the way she spoke to you and the way she was was disgusting the tribunal would definitely award this and bollock the way that cm handled your case take it all the way if you have to hun I would honestly 200000% ring up and complain and say u want a different cm to review your claim xx

@Mammalee5 how old is your son ? Xx

5, he turned 5 2 weeks ago. New claim for hrc awarded December 23, they sent mobility forms in February in preparation for his 5th birthday, put those in and she's decided to investigate the entire claim and wants to close it down completely

Aussielover · 18/06/2024 18:39

@Mammalee5 you would absolutely argue that a typical 5 year old would be speaking full sentences and if delayed at least words.
Non verbal means just that and a gp would confirm that for you along with poor communication xx from me to you I would suggest making an appointment tomorrow x say its urgent to discuss your sons development and ask the gp to confirm that your thoughts are correct and he isn't a typical 5 Yr old xx the gp's job is to hear your concerns x you can ask for that appointment discussion in a report x then send it x if clubs etc aren't enough a gp's opinion certainly will be xx

God I hope we don't get her as we don't have an ASD assessment yet and my son is selective mute 🫣 we wouldn't stand a chance, because he's clearly 'choosing' who to not speak to.. honestly it's mind boggling how these people are so heartless and thoughtless! I'd try and speak with someone else in there and make a complaint regarding her attitude, totally unnecessary!

She's messed with the wrong mamma. Sorted a private autism assessment, inital call in the morning, takes 4 weeks. So I'll be calling for an extension in 2 weeks for evidence sending in. Got letters coming from 3 child development professionals that know my son, they'll be posted this week and in the morning I'm requesting his medical records even though she said it won't have the information that she wants and is pointless. I'm sending everything in for MR as i don't think theres anything that she'll accept.

Aussielover · 18/06/2024 20:19

Hang fire @Mammalee5 going private - you are ENTITLED to NHS services so why should you pay the fees for private?! The costs are crippling and express how do they expect you to pay anyway when they are threatening to remove the benefit money you receive for him.
Benefit dla money isn't issued for private healthcare, that's totally optional, but please fight this before you part with thousands. You could use that for your child for no end of things :-(

I would ring first thing in morning with a complaint then say you want someone higher to contact you regarding her attitude and the way she belittled you.. tell them you no the phone calls are recorded but you also recorded the call and are taking it further.. you applied for help not to be made out to be worthless.. tell them you have enough to deal with on a daily basis without someone making you feel unworthy.. she abused her power of a dm to belittle you and it's affected your mental health.. you were awarded with the evidence and she's used threating behaviour to remove this award if not sent evidence within a unrealistic time frame.. the phone call was for a coc not for a new claim to what as already been awarded and accepted with the evidence she's now refusing to take, state she even said she's to busy to talk she's got targets to meet.. hopefully you get her the sack spineless cow.

Scan date 16/02 still waiting was so hoping this was my last part but clearly not ! Real fed up now. Would just like a decision one way or another. 😭
Anyone similar dates still waiting or is it just me?
Feels like it's going forever and I will just never find out 😂
