Have you tried contacting your local MP? Email over a copy of your complaints letter, someone did it last year and it definitely got resolved fast

Not yet.. as hubby said it's better to send the complaint to them first as MP wouldn't do much before I haven't send DLA nothing. Or they would?

I'd send both at the same time and put on the letter that you are contacting your local mp... just to speed things up. You owe them no loyalty, their treatment has been disgusting and they get away with it constantly because they know people are too scared to speak out

Decision makers do. They also call from mobile numbers if they're working remotely and you can't call them back. See if i get a text later or not. Might call next week. i have a new claim in and a change of circumstances with my son turning 5, both 16 weeks Monday

Ohh that's good to know. I didn't realise they worked weekends. I'm hoping for a decision in the next few days myself 🤞

Ladies.. I really need some advice and idea how to finalise my complaint letter. At this point I can't ask them to explain the hold up as they have done it. So can someone advice what to write at the end, please. Will attach the picture of end of my letter.

Thanks in advance

Not dla related but iv just received the letter for my eldests swap over to pip and I'm in shock
She's been on dla middle care for past 7 years I really thought they'd turn her down iv been gearing myself up for a fight for months
And it's the opposite she's been awarded advanced care and standard mobility I'm so happy I could cry iv reread the letter half a dozen times 😁
Been awarded till 2028
Now just waiting for my youngest claim scan date 22nd March
Keeping everything crossed that that one goes smoothly to

I would end it with...
to contact me in the next 10 days to discuss this and come to a solution that will relieve the anguish you have put our family through.

I hope this will make them take action and finally sort it out 🫶

@Shazzle88
SALT report
HV report
ASD assessment referral
OT referral

I think that's it. I did add a lot of extra info to the questions on paper.

Happy for you that it went in your favour but also miffed that my 2.4 mth old son has just been refused and I had HV asd first assessment report, SALT report and a whole lot of me explaining how much harder and non aware of danger he is as well as non verbal and very delayed communication and comprehension, all stated by the HV and SALT too …. I’ve had to put in a MR …. Seems like maybe it’s a bit of pot luck with what DM gets the file

5/3 I haven't rang once it's 15 weeks this week I tried hold off calling as with my other child's claim last year I called alot and I found it made my anxieties worse... Would ya. Maybe hold off another 2 weeks (17weeks) before calling? What are they saying when people are ringing... They told us with my daughters upto 20 weeks she was awarded at 17 week 2 days backdated 24 weeks are they working at this pace or are they faster this year?

I've seen on a Facebook page people being awarded this week from the end of February and a few beginning of march. Some 14 weeks, some 15 and some 17, they talk a lot about tiers aswell as if the forms are prioritised in how quickly they're looked at but I'm not sure on that as I was under the impression unless you ask for priority they go by date

Basically said his needs are same as a regular 2 year old with standard supervision for his age.. either DM did not read anything from anyone properly or he/she was in a “ no “ mood … hopefully the MR gets a different person .

Jobeanz · 16/06/2024 09:49

Getting a bit concerned because apparently my payment was authorised on Wednesday but still nothing in bank or pending and now I’m stressing I put my bank details wrong even though I swear I triple checked them!!! Anyone else who phoned up this week and got good news in the same boat? I’m sure it’s just my perimenopausal anxiety but any reassurance would be great.

Naomie6161 · 16/06/2024 09:50

@Matilde08 Good morning, hope you’re feeling a tad better today. I’ve been following your story for a while now and I’m extremely sorry that all this is happening to you. Truly hope there will be light at the end of the tunnel and your boy is awarded with what he is more than entitled to.
Rooting for your family 💙
Sending hugs and prayers your way xx

ArtfulJoker · 16/06/2024 09:54

@Jobeanz 3 working days Thursday Friday then monday xx

Naomie6161 · 16/06/2024 09:57

Hey all, you can request Subject Access Forms from your GP which will give you access to all details they have regarding your child, including A&E visits also, if it’s been difficult to get ahold of this.

I’ve also found that when dealing with schools it’s best to email them as you are leaving a paper trail of evidence. My DS was referred to Community Paeds as well as Occupational Therapy this way.

Hope this helps x

Hope all your kids are awarded as only we know the difficulties we face each day with our children, they are complete blessings and deserve all the support they’re entitled to which will enhance their quality of life xx
