I have heard it can take weeks / months but just to keep on their case about it
I think it can be just as challenging / nearly as long as the wait for DLA 😕

@Ljstar it is relieving to finally know it’s over and hopefully people around me scan date know it’s coming soon x

@KLA1993 it has to be verified and added onto your statement first. Then once thats happened request for it to be to DM, ensure to tell them you couldnt inform the earlier because youve only just found out (this will save time) otherwise the DM may come back
and ask. Once it’s with the DM it can take a couple weeks. From coc it’s usually between 4 and 6 weeks. Youll get first letter confirming they accept the reason for late notification under special circumstances. The second is them telling you how much is owed in back pay. Hope that helps

@Ljstar honestly the whole DWP is a joke, we have to wait for a decision off DLA then we have to go through a process of UC confirming it all 😩 thankyou for you replyxx

Second this, been waiting for an update, hope all is OK, scares me @Fee89 makes you think can they take anyone's claim off them after all the evidence/everything we have to go through with our children after we have been awarded 😫 xx

@KLA1993 UC were aware I applied for DLA and asked for an update when/if she was awarded, I've asked for the carers element and disabled child element to be backdated from January and the child element has gone on my statement this month (but hasn't been backdated) I updated and told them straight away so hope they are going to backdate it! I got told the case manager deals with backpayments as a priority so we shall see..
Also @Matilde08 I'm so annoyed for you! They gave you a date and you're still waiting.. here's hoping today is the day🤞🏻🤞🏻

It was playing on my mind yesterday. I really hope the letter was sent in error 😬. Iv got a daughter that has previously self harmed and to have the double stress for mum is soul destroying 😔 xx

I get the back pay of the care element tomorrow but the disabled child element has to be verified by DWP so takes a bit longer.....I reported the change last Friday & a decision was made for CE by Tuesday.....hope this helps x

My care element is backdated & is in my account tomorrow. Will be added to next month's statement as well x

Thank you 💗✨️ Will call them today again. Just put the list down with dates of my calls and what I have been told and promised. Since 18.04 I have had ten calls and have been pretty much promised it will be marked like a priority and any time soon..

Is anyone with a scan date of 12-16 Feb calling today?

mines is 16/02 and I called yesterday and was told very latest July the 5th but it’s already with the dam and has been for about a week so should hear back within the next week or two 🫶🏻
