Evening everyone ,
I applied for my daughter back on the 23rd January, it was scanned on the 20th March but I called on Friday and they said If I don’t hear by 7th August to call back up is anyone else waiting since these dates ?

I'm 18/3 so hopefully not long left for us

Crazyhouse4 · 10/06/2024 08:38

For people that was made priority, how did you find out if it had been accepted? And how long did it take to get a decision? I wrote a letter with my latest evidence I sent in, she said it was scanned on Friday but just said some get accepted and some don’t and to call back soon

Mamof2devils · 10/06/2024 08:47

Hi I've been advised to send sons sleep diary in, for those who have done this how did you send it please?. Did you send the diary in or make a copy of some of the pages?. Thank you

ArtfulJoker · 10/06/2024 09:01

emw138 · 10/06/2024 09:44

Parked! Scan date 28/05 so in for a long one 🤣

RachCCE · 10/06/2024 09:46

Good morning, long time reader of posts, first time contributor. Just wanted to add my experience uo to now and of calling this morning.

Jan 2nd - called for forms
End of Feb - forms sent back, I had missed a signature
Mar 6th - Scan date
Mar 13th - acknowledgement letter
Apr 23rd - sorry you're waiting letter

After reading these posts I learned about priority due to financial hardship. Last Monday I had to withdraw my son (combined ADHD, suspected Autism - ADHD diagnosed in Dec 2023. Autism in watch and wait period) from mainstream school due to disproportionate punishments and threats of exclusion. I won't go into it in too much detail but not being allowed to participate in golden time, which is TV and being told to stand with his back to the TV, then punished if he turns around (yes, really). Being threatened with exclusion for putting his head on the desk or standing up out of his chair. The list is endless and quite simply unbelievable.

I am currently pregnant so have taken maternity leave early in order to facilitate the home schooling. As we all know we have a plan for our maternity leave, I work term time so my plan was to work right up, so I got the school hols next year packaged up into my mat leave. I have now had to take mat leave from last week at 32 weeks. I have already changed jobs, stepping down from a managerial role to take a term time job (with a subsequentpay cut of approx 8k per year), then had to remove him from wrap around care and pay someone to do it (at a considerably higher cost). Now I've had to take him out altogether. Which will mean July and August will be stat mat instead of 90% pay, and my mat leave will end much sooner than expected next year.

Anyway I called today to discuss priority and thought i'd share what she told me. She said I'm on week 14 (tomorrow) and that claims are being dealt with between 15 and 20 weeks. She said my claim is with a decision maker but not yet dealt with. She did say that she would push my claim forward - I assume this is making it priority but who knows. She said "without pushing it forward you should expect a decision by 20 weeks which is 23rd July so its not too long away now anyway".

But that's 29 weeks from calling so it feels like an age!

They did around the 12/2-16/2 roughly from people on here last week so I'd like to hope they will get to us this week.
My scan date is the 19/2. Hope you get sorted this week 🤞
16 weeks today, it's been a long 4 months 🙄🤨

I really hope we hear something in the next few days - I'm 19.2 too, but because I'm at work, I can't phone and it's really stressful 😫

Mez2024 · 10/06/2024 10:07

@jillcraighead
I'm sure we will hear something this week. Hang on in there, not long now.
If I haven't heard anything by Friday I will be calling because they don't always text

Tiredmum1223 · 10/06/2024 10:09

Hello everyone, ive been watching these threads for a while and its been really helpful.
I sent off my DD DLA form at the beginning of April and its scan date is 25/4. I called at the beginning of May to make sure they'd received it and they told me then it was with DM but that seems way to soon so I don't believe that. The wait is such a horrible time, good luck to everyone!

Mummyof6love · 10/06/2024 10:16

Scan date 22/02. Currently on hold using the 523 way. Fingers crossed for all this week. I think I’m way hopeful I’ll have an answer today but while I have a spare hour, you never know.

JD2309 · 10/06/2024 10:31

Hi ,

anyone with scan date 16/02 still waiting? I called Thursday and it had gone to dm that lunchtime . I phoned again Friday to update them as my son has just been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder , but as I was upset as I’d just found out I didn’t say that the disorder is more than likely why he struggles with his behaviour and means he’s more susceptible to autism/adhd . I told them all I knew is he needs heart, brain and other organ system investigations but didn’t link it to what was said on my application.
i do have a feeling I didn’t put enough info into his application but I suppose I’ll have more now to help with MR if it comes to that.
I submitted evidence from a family member, a paediatrician report stating he seemed to have neurodevelopmental delay and would need genetic testing and adhd /autism assessments and an outreach report from school that didn’t say much as he masks so much just that he’s shy , doesn’t make eye contact and has emotional and sensory issues.
I'm hoping to hear back soon so I know if I can drop work hours as I know I have a lot of appointments to come following his new diagnosis.

hope lots of people get the awards they deserve this week 🤞🏼
