I've just wrote a note in my UC journal about carers element and Disabled child element IF were awarded and they replied that to get either my son would need HRC and HRM, is this correct as im sure someone mentioned MRC and LRM or HRC and LRM and got it? Xx

Not right at all you, Disabled child element for LRC or MRC is £156.11 per month, HRC is £487.58, Carers element is MRC or HRC only and is £198.31 per month 🙂

12/02 scan date. Still with a decision maker. Been there for a week. He’s told me to wait and I will get a text… the wait continues

it's so annoying isn't it! Crazy how some are with a dm 1-2 days and others are with a dm for weeks

Ljstar · 06/06/2024 15:24

Congrats on all the awards today
such a relief for you all ❤️

AutumnalApricity · 06/06/2024 15:35

Thank you all so much for encouraging me to call again. Spoke to a lovely lady who told me a decision has been made and she put me through to the contact centre for the details. My bub has been awarded LRC which I believe is appropriate for her care needs. I will reassess how she's managing once she starts school in September and when her most recent test results are in and pop a COC application in as necessary. I appreciate all your support as not sure how I'd have managed my anxiety levels these last 16 weeks without you lovely lot 💐 xx

I called Monday and they said that last week it went to the DM so it should be soon. I think I’ll call tomorrow or Monday and see if there’s an update. How long does it take to have it all backdated ? Feel like that takes it’s sweet time too 😂

I’m thinking about calling Friday or Monday too, probably more chance there would be more a decision on Monday. Once they’ve awarded us it take 3-5 working days for back payment to go in, they did tell me they would text when I decision has been made but they don’t always keep to there word with that.

Question - my son gets HRC and HRM. As a family we get UC and the carers element is claimed for my son (I don't get carer's allowance as I'm on ESA). We currently have a new claim for my daughter. If she's awarded MRC or higher, can a carers element be added to our UC claim on her behalf too?
So sorry if this is an ignorant/grabby question! 😳

If there is another adult on your uc claim you can have the second carers element on there under there name

Thank you ladies for your positive thoughts 💛💐🫂
Woke up this morning poorly 🫥 no idea if I have catched the same cold my boys has or consequences of anxieties and stress I'm going through as yesterday was breaking point. Anyways, my hubby recommended to put that all 'saga' a bit away for at least one day and do something for myself even if it means to do nothing. Had a little chat with my bestie at school drop this morning, obviously all about DLA saga, and it was enough for me to almost having another panick attack afterwards. So, even talk about it makes me super anxious. And that's not normal 😕

Good luck to everyone 💓 And congrats to everyone who have received good news with backdated payments etc 💐💐💐

I completely agree with hubby though it is easier said than done! It's disgusting that it has reached this point that you are suffering just by talking, I hope when your complaint goes in they can learn from this & make better decisions on the future
As always sending lots of positive energy & thoughts x

Same scan date as me 😆 if they call to ask questions it’s usually the dm calling you because there on your claim, you will probably find that they would have made the decision after that call

Congratulations! I'm so happy that the stress is over for you.
I'm on the call with them now to see if our results got awarded today as well, since we have the same scan date.

All the best! x
