Yeah I was quite lucky too, i was on the Restart scheme who had zero interests in any type of understanding (they just want to throw you into any type of work and get their bonus!) Luckily they've cancelled that as I'm now voluntary and jobcentre actually allowed time for me to find out DLA results when I should have been work searching ao I've had an understandable work coach thankfully. Hopefully I'll get a letter about it soon as it'll put my mind at ease that it's sorted then🤞🏻

You do get some understanding people, the lady I spoke to was like right that's it, do as much or as little as you like you have no commitment now your child comes first. She updated everything for me aswell which was a relief. Once you get that letter you'll know where you stand without having to explain each time x

When do I inform job centre about getting dla for carers and disability element? Do I have to wait untill I have heard back about my dla claim?

Yeah you need to find out if you're awarded dla first and the rates before you can claim them, you could let them know you're awaiting a decision and they might pause any commitments until you find out but that'll vary tbh

We've been really lucky with our ASD referrals / diagnoses (though we had to wait 3 years for DS to be referred to start with).

DS was referred in April 21 and diagnosed in Feb 22. DD was referred initially in Sept 23, but they emailed in November to say they'd decided not to assess her. She was re-referred in Jan this year and assessed / diagnosed in March.

We've only just started the EHCP process for DS, so can't comment on that.

I'm seeing a lot of you got a text today, my scan date is 20/02 should I be concerned that I didn't get the text?

Their text system is rubbish. Some get 2 texts, some get 1, some get none. Others get a text to say awarded or decision has been made. Luck of the draw with them. So long as you got a letter saying they've received your claim, don't worry.

I'm 14 weeks today and got a text but end of last year when i went through this with another child, I'd received 2 texts by now. Never got a text to say awarded. You're a week ahead of me so judging by others comments, yours should be with or going to a DM soon and in the next 2 / 3 weeks i hope you get backpay through

Wow that’s good timing! Glad your children are getting the help they need. 💜🩵 I called our council Sen department today to ask for an update on the EHCP and my son’s referral isn’t on their system. The lady I spoke to was going to her supervisor and asking them to check it for me and call me tomorrow . Fingers crossed the school have actually sent it! I asked her about the ASD time frame and she advised some cases are taking 3 years. I really hope this isn’t the case as my son will only have 1 year left in school and he is really struggling x

i got the peads report a short questionnaire filled in by the school to say why he cant be left alone at all.
and the peads report regarding his autism assessment detailed why he would need to be supervised 24.7 even outside.
