Does anyone know how to start a Mr off I want to see why my son didn’t get hrc I’ve sent lots of evidence off from his autism , adhd reports , salt , education psychology , therapy assessment and all school report his iq assessment stating he’s at 57 IQ , ehcp he’s ten but ep said he’s more younger for his age more 5/6 years and that’s where his education is too working at year 1/2 work , he be leaving primary next year too a special school do you think I should go go a Mr ? I didn’t send in night diary and I should of done as he’s awake a lot thu night and was said on his notes he’s in school late or tired most days from being awake at nights and he still needs me to wipe him and wash him and do his teeth every day .

I think you can do a MR on the phone from what I have read

It can take a long time to be considered so it would be a good idea to start the process as soon as you can

Hi does anyone know how long UC is taking at approving disabled child element back pay?
I’ve been waiting 2 months and they said it’s still with a decision maker

Newtothisnow · 31/05/2024 10:28

Oh no really?!!! I told them on Weds last week and have called and left a note on my journal. Are you at least receiving the disabled child element to your UC claim? x

Aussielover · 31/05/2024 10:31

@Kita86 from what you have wrote, mrc is correct award, if you didn't send in night notes the dla will assume no night care needs
Be very careful now saying there is night needs my friend did this and they had their entire award took away
I'm sure she got investigated for fraud

I know they are clamping down on fraud claims that's why evidence from professionals is so important xx

Oh my gosh thats horrible 😔. I hope she wasnt actually doing fraud lol. The Dla form is so scary for some people that they freeze and forget half off what they want to get across 😬 x

Aussielover · 31/05/2024 10:48

@Fee89 yes!! Serves her right doesnt it. Completely agree with you, the forms are a horrible xx
@Kita86 Fee is your person for Mr, I don't want to scare you at all x I don't want you losing what you deserve for your child xx

Just thought i'd update on what they're saying at the minute..

My scan date is 15/02, I called on Tuesday to make sure they had received my extra evidence and the lady said they had and my claim was with a case manager and to call back today to see if a decision had been made.

I have just called and the lady said no decision has been made and to not call again until July! She said most cases are taking up to 20 weeks.

Starting to think it's going to be rejected / i haven't sent enough info

I've sent ASD diagnosis reports, epilepsy diagnosis, paediatrian reports over the last 5 years, individual health plan for school, provision map for school, MRI notes, Speech & language notes, OT notes, ADHD referral notes, melatonin & keppra prescription details but I didn't fill in a sleep diary which i'm reading most people send in. I did explain his struggles with sleep and the paediatrician notes confirm this too.

Does anyone think I need to send further evidence? This process is giving me such anxiety 😫

Your scan date is the day before me, I don’t think you will have time to send in extra evidence because we should hear in the next week, some call handlers just say 20 weeks to stop us calling again, but mine is with DM too so we should hear pretty soon, I find calling in the morning they will only tell you a decision if it’s been made the day before, if you called later in the day there is a longer wait on the phone but it gives them time to look at it that day, good luck, keep me posted if you hear anything 🤞

I wonder if they’ve just done it and not all the information is on there system yet?

Yeah I thought we would have got declined too, I wasn't going to ring but I just had an urge I couldn't ignore and I'm glad I did.
Congratulations on your award too! I'm so glad you've not got to wait any longer and that stress of waiting has gone! It's such a huge relief isn't it?

Yes 100% serves her right. Wish it would happen more often 😤. It then has a neg effect on children that actually need it xx

Kita86 · 31/05/2024 10:54

@Fee89 @OneTiredMumma84 @Kla1913 I guess I will have to get that courage and call them later today again 🤞🏻Have called them every Thursday since middle of April. Do I have to choose same '523' when calling?

Aussielover · 31/05/2024 11:00

Mr. Start by phone call. Then write a detailed example of a night you have and the effects it has. I would suggest doing it now as they will ignore again on next review. Think of the worst of the worst and write that down, then an okay night so they can see a varied night for you both. Example me last night. I woke to go toilet noticed Freya bloods were dropping at 12.50am. I stayed awake and kept checking for 10mins. At 1am i then came down and grabbed an orange juice and straw. I then went and woke Freya but she was so tired i had to 'dream feed' her. This was sitting her up with my hand supports behing her head. I then popped straw to her mouth and gave instruction to drink. It took Freya 15 mins to drink half the orange juice. This then took me to 1.20am. I laid Freya down and sat next to her to monitor her bloods. Her blood levels were 3.7. It took 45 mins for her bloods to rise to 5.5. During the 45 mins i have to stay awake and every 15 mins check her blood levels and ask if she is okay which means waking her every 15 mins. At 2.05am i went back to bed and waited 15 mins to check she was stable then at 2.20am i then started to settle back in bed. Hope that makes sense xx

Oh no thats scary! Just to jump on, ive just done an mr highlighting my sons night needs and also some other day time needs i think they missed.

I did provide my sons feeding plan from the dietician that shows him being tube fed at 11pm but explained that as he cant cope with the volume of feed i have to split it in 2 and feed him at 1am also... but the plan only states 11pm as the latest. Got me worrying now 😫

Kita86 · 31/05/2024 11:09

Thank you for your help 😊

Rachfrank · 31/05/2024 11:11
