@Emma2345 thank you so much, I will let them know tomorrow ❤️

Your welcome hun you can also claim carers element of UC as well this can be back dated and doesn’t affect any of ur Uc money even if you work I think it’s about £168, the carers allowance does so every £1 u earn from carers allowance Uc deducts so I wouldn’t claim that one as the carers element of Uc doesn’t affect any of your payments hope this helps xx

Zoes3d1 · 30/05/2024 16:45

@Emma2345 that's such great info thank you, I will definitely let UC know. Good luck with your claim if you still waiting for outcome 🤞 ❤️ xx

DoctorWhoScarf · 30/05/2024 17:34

Well I have no idea what I’ve been awarded — no letter and no text and I haven’t had the time to call yet — but I’ve definitely been awarded something because rather a large lump sum landed in my bank account this morning! 😮Scan date 7th Feb.

Yup pretty standard to see money first before knowing. It gets backdated to the date you called. Or if you printed at home then its to scan date x congratulations xx

Do any of you lovely knowledgeable people know the answer to this…. I have to migrate over to uc by august. Hopefully the DLA decision is due last week in July/first week in august (15/16wks) do I have to wait for the decision? Would you recommend waiting? If going by everyone else’s time waiting I doubt I will hear back in the timeframe they give but crossing my fingers!

I have been told text message when decision when done by one person, letter by another.. but I have noticed the way how people find out is so different.
Foe me so far nothing.. no text message, no decision on the call, no money, no letter.

Yeah I wouldn't have even known until Tuesday had I not given in and rang, through the wait I had 2 letters and a text but not even a text when awarded, makes no sense😂
It must vary by DMs or something

Aussielover · 30/05/2024 19:47

@mummyto3littlebeautys how long are coc's did you get thru x

mummyto3littlebeautys · 30/05/2024 19:48

@Emma2345 hi so I get UC but I get cares allowance and they take a lump sum of my payment. I’m just wondering would I be better claiming the cares element as I didn’t no about this? Sorry to jump on and hope it’s ok me asking. 🌸 xx

mummyto3littlebeautys · 30/05/2024 19:57

@Aussielover yes I did after 80 mins 🤣 they are taking up to 15 weeks she told me to call back the second week of July. X

I bit the bullet & called
We were awarded HRC yesterday!🥳
Backpay is due on Tuesday!
I'm so happy, I honestly thought we were going to get a decline as I wasn't sure we had sent enough evidence.
Scan date 08/02

Oh I'm so pleased for you! I called today & we have got MRC, I genuinely thought we'd be declined ❣️

I have to move over by Aug aswell. Wait until one week before date given. But remember if you are on uc when you are awarded its tax credits you get backpay from 🤦🏻‍♀️. Date awarded to date moved to uc. Then uc to date you are notified. Just dont get caught out please xx

Hi you can claim carers element regardless of claiming CA, you can claim both even if you are workimg full time, you should definitely be claiming carers element and you can ask for it to be backdated to when the claim started x

@Kla1913 hi thank you for that as I didn’t know and I doubt they will back date now as it’s been a couple of years or is it worth a try? I will give them a call tomorrow and ask about it. I don’t work due to my caring role so would I still be entitled to the cares element ? I get the extra disabled element and I get cares weekly but UC take it back off me 🤦‍♀️ does that not matter thank you x

Yes I would say you would be much better off claiming the carers element rather than the allowance as this doesn’t affect your Uc and u can combine that carers element with working too where as carers allowance is deducted from your Uc hope this helps I will insert some info for you xx

Yes I would ask for it to be backdated see what they say, you can only try, your 100% entitled to it, I'm quite shocked they didn't give it you when you got disability element, yes I used to get carers allowence for my partner but changed to my daughter as I preferred the weekly payments, you can still recieve carers element as well as carers allowence as they are completly different benefits xx

Yeah I thought we would have got declined too, I wasn't going to ring but I just had an urge I couldn't ignore and I'm glad I did.
Congratulations on your award too! I'm so glad you've not got to wait any longer and that stress of waiting has gone! It's such a huge relief isn't it?

Kmcx93 · 30/05/2024 21:50

congrats all on the awards today! And @Matilde08 one more step in the right direction my dear….we all have everything crossed for you to get a positive outcome, as you say it would be cruel if they declined now! You have been such a strength and support to others and you have had to go through the most horrendous journey! I really wish you the best of luck 🍀🤞🏼🥰

It's ridiculous that even when asked they don't text🙈 I know they say some DMs do and some don't text but it'd be nice if they actually said if they would or not, it's a good job you phoned! Congrats on award 😊

It all depends on your council. It took 3 weeks for my eldest to get hers last month x
