@NoWordForFluffy yeah I have, have you? Xx

Nope! When did you get it?

mamof3darlings · 15/05/2024 19:30

@NoWordForFluffy last week xx

Loubyloufootball · 15/05/2024 19:31

Well I called again today! 😂This time choosing different options (I can’t remember exactly but I usually choose the more than 20 weeks option but didn’t today)
he told me we were top of the queue and to expect a decision within the next 2 weeks. Finally someone who gave me a bit more information than the standard “it’s taking 20 weeks”

SD 31/01

i will call again on Friday

Jodess · 15/05/2024 19:35

Hi lovelies, did ask earlier but there was a lot going on on the last thread😂 carers allowance - lady told me this morning it went to DM on Monday, how long am I likely to be waiting? @Fee89 did you get CA after you was awarded DLA?x

Loubyloufootball · 15/05/2024 19:35

@MrsRawl how old is your child please?
The situation sounds very similar to my daughter but we don’t have a decision yet

Hi I'm currently waiting for CA since 2nd May I changed it over from my partner to my daughter, I think I waited a week last time, but with all current wait times it can be up to 12 weeks apparently 😅

Yeah I’ve heard different things, some people are getting awarded after a week and some are still waiting from weeks ago🙃😂

@Notyouraveragemum0 Aww love that! Do you enjoy it?

I was a Benefit assessment officer for 8 years but have been a manager with my own team of 10 assessment officers for 3 years now. Hard work but so rewarding xx

@Notyouraveragemum0 Hi, I was a senior recovery officer for c/tax and nndr!😅
@Nickij2024 Well done it is hard work, I was a benefit visiting officer and loved it, as you say so rewarding😀

Struggling to keep up with the threads 😅congrats to those who got good news over the last few days, so happy your wait is finally over. Good luck to anyone who is having to do an MR 🍀

Had extremely bad few days with DDs meltdowns etc. I know she can’t help it, but the triggers are usually so minor and I’m so fed up of her terrifying poor DS3 and DS1. Also triggers more meltdowns with DS3 who is already hard to handle.

Feeling utterly defeated at the moment. Lack of sleep probably doesn’t help as been a sleepless zombie for the past 2.5 years 😂

Seen so many awards this week around 22-25 jan, making me pull my hair out now!! I know there’s a few of you around my scan date 24/1, how are you all coping??

He’s 5, will be 6 in August. Good luck for your decision, we got mrc and lrm. I was convinced we’d get a decline as I thought most of his needs would just be put down to his age but in the letter I got today it says the reports I included helped them to make the decision they did. And I just sent two separate reports in that the SALT did, they was very detailed though about all aspects of his life x

Ohhh you poor thing!
it can get really exhausted! I only have two children and my son (who the claim is for) has very challenging and unpredictable behaviour. It's hard seeing it has an affect on the other children too. Just know you are doing the best you can and that is ENOUGH ❤️ xx

That feeling of walking on egg shells just incase it sets her off. Even a wrong look omg. Then the tag team (if you have a partner). One has to be good cop so the other can have a mini breakdown while attenting to the other kids, that will be screaming/crying in fear which you cant help but almost lose the plot. Something that happened at 5pm is now 11pm and your begging 'just go to bed'. Knowing that come next morning she will have no memory off what happened the night before 🤦🏻‍♀️. How old is she? It does get better, you work out a way of saying things in routine so it doesnt set something off. Ours was as soon as in from school. 'what did you have for lunch today' 'did your day go okay?' 'See any good teachers?' Then the biggest question 'who did you hang around with' 9/10 her meltdowns were due to friends at school. Shes now doing a nursery apprentice and as soon as she is home now she has to come and tell me about her day, if she doesnt all hell breaks out!! Xx

Dani2612 · 15/05/2024 20:32

We are struggling SO much financially at the moment due to extra costs with DD12 have barely been getting by for a while now and my other children are suffering because of it. She is extremely careless and destructive, nothing lasts long. She also has ongoing continence issues and is constantly having accidents and smearing etc mostly in her bedroom 😔

Feel it is somehow linked to her ASD but no idea, neither does the school nurse. Means I am constantly washing and replacing clothes, bedding, mattresses, carpet and much more. Also having to buy overpriced large pull ups for nighttime as she refuses to get up during the night to change when she has accidents.

I was tempted to call and ask for financial priority after seeing a few others had done so but I know there are people with all sorts of reasons far more worthy than mine such as medication etc. As I know DWP are working around and past my scan date now (24/1) I’m hoping it won’t be long before a decision is made anyway so will have to sit tight. Hope we get a text if awarded, honestly don’t think I’ve got it in me to call them again 😔

Thank you so much, it means a lot to hear that. It really is exhausting and just mentally draining always having to think before you act/speak in case it causes anything. It’s so nice just to speak to people that are in similar situations, I don’t have many people that understand what I’m going through and their dad just can’t cope with their behaviour.

Wishing you all the best for you and your children 💗💗

We got told by our adhd consultant to try half a cup of milky coffee to calm her down. I first refused as what sort of mother would i be giving my 10yr old at the time a coffee 😮. My kids barley get fizzy never mind a coffee. One night thought screw it. Made the coffee told her it was for her and left a biscuit next to it. She drank some, within 45 mins shes going to bed.....little shit picked up on how it made her feel so she would refuse to drink it 😂

My son (ADHD) swears by the power of coffee to help manage his adhd traits. He can't take ADHD meds because of a medical issue so he's tried everything!
