Hi all. Has anyone been successfully awarded without anyone filling out the ‘person who knows the child’ part? Daughter, 12. ASD traits-runs in the family. Waiting for assessment. Mainstream school but not supportive. So didn’t want their non existent input and not any evidence except a letter saying she will be put forward to the next stage of an ASD assessment. I feel I wrote it out very good, explaining her but no evidence or input from anyone, I’m not feeling too hopeful she will get awarded.

Do you have a family member that can fill it in for you or a close friend x

Mummyof6love · 17/05/2024 17:33

@Fee89 I already sent it off. We don’t have anyone-live in our own little bubble and no one who sees her enough to understand her traits if you know what I mean. Xxx

100% know what you mean. I love my little bubble 😂. Iv seen alot of people not have anyone fill that part in and still be awarded. Will keep my fingers crossed for you xx

@Matilde08 Glad to read you are sorting out the complaint. They have had more than enough time. Good luck.

Yeah it's hard not knowing everything about it, we got a leaflet on it and what children with it can have, we did see a genetics team and they signed her off but we can go back if she gets worse, because she's not severe with it they didn't need to see her anymore, she just told us they used to test the parents to see if it came from a parent or not but they don't do that anymore she couldn't really tell us anything definite as they're still learning about it themselves constantly so it didn't really help tbh, but this could be different for you of course! My daughters temper is through the roof and she's on a wait list to be seen by the asd team, luckily we have had an amazing team around her and her nursery ate amazing and know what to do to keep her from having meltdowns etc, I'm dreading when she starts reception but she has another year in her nursery yet and the paediatrician she sees has sent them a letter through to make a plan on what they can do to support her. I've applied for DLA and on my 14th week of waiting so haven't heard anything yet but I did send a copy of the letter with diagnosis of her genetic condition in with some other stuff. It's so hard though to get other people to understand it when we barely understand it ourselves 😬

We're on week 15, almost 16. So worried that it'll be a decline due to no knowledge about it. I'm not holding my breath on the genetics team, I've just had to send off family history so they can build a family tree ready for June. They sent a questionnaire asking about any questions I may have when we see them. I've got absolutely loads of them so pleased they asked as I'm sure I'll have brain freeze when I'm face to face 😂
We've just had the riot in the doctor so I'm frazzled this evening.....roll on bedtime so I can have a couple of hours free before he wakes up constantly 😵‍💫

Yes I didn’t fill that part in for all 3 of my children and also all 3 are not diagnosed and all I sent in was proof that they are awaiting asd and adhd assessment through cyps . 2 are in mainstream school and no support off them . I have been awarded for all 3 . I never thought I would get accepted for 1 let alone all 3 . Hope this helps

Hi 👋 my daughter has been awarded without anyone filling out the " who knows the child" part but I have had a formal diagnosis of anorexia. There was plenty of mums on here before with that particular part not filled out. Good luck and I hope your daughter gets what she deserves 💗

Awe 😊 I am hoping for some good news for us soon. I’ve been told 20 weeks originally. Then 15 weeks. So god knows 🤷🏼‍♀️

Declined… reason she does not have a formal diagnosis of autism and attends a main stream school absolutely fuming. I give up 16 weeks wait

Definitely do MR. I will be if this happens to us. It’s so frustrating isn’t that we wait all this time and then this. So sorry but please do an MR.
my daughter is in mainstream, doesn’t have diagnosis as yet but is on the pathway waiting list. It’s not about a diagnosis, it’s about her needs. Good luck x

I’m still waiting but I didn’t fill that part in either as I stated no one else knows her well enough. She is Situationally Mute. However, her school IS supportive. I did send her CAMHS referral, CAMHS acceptance letter, SALT acceptance letter and her IEP from school.
Time will tell if it’s enough

Chezza277 · 17/05/2024 18:56

Scan date 31/1
Called up this afternoon to check progress women was lovely it was passed to DM yesterday and awarded today mrc and lrm I had no evidence that I sent only a referral letter from the continence clinic and a cahms referral letter, the waiting has been hard and second guessing everything I had put on the form. I didn't fill it out, but did have a letter from the school anyway so included it in evidence x

Summerrp · 17/05/2024 19:56

I'm abit concerned that the original evidence I sent I didn't put all the extra information on the top of each page. Like address, dob etc. I did with additional information I sent later but not with evidence I sent with the application form. Getting near time now so overthinking everything, I hope was all scanned on ok

Aw I only saw a few posts on here after I had already sent the application that this should be done. I just hope and pray was all recieved and scanned as obviously all in same envelope. Just second guessing everything now. This wait is a nightmare

I know it can be hard but please dont over think. It will drive you mad 😬 x

bloom1927 · 17/05/2024 20:17

Honestly the closer it gets the more I feel like it’s going to be a decline, mine is with DM and I’m bricking it, don’t even feel prepared what so ever if it is a decline, just trying to think positive 😩

Aussielover · 17/05/2024 20:25

@Waiting1901 nothing yet, if I'm declined I will mr and I'd like to go to tribunal because the panel consists of a doctor, judge and disability expert , I will show videos of my child, photos of injury, evidence stacked and also explain face to face in depth x I have a strong possibility of decline because my son is beginning to accept his nursery as routine and if they contact nursery and they confirm he's doing ok, I will need to argue facts and show evidence which they wrote about him, hes only there 2hrs and its not enough to vouch for his additional needs when we have the other 22 hours of the day where he is bad behavioural emotional and cognitively x

Mummyof6love · 17/05/2024 20:40

Thanks for all your replies. ❤️. Just have to wait and see I guess. Not even sure when my scan date is as when I called to check the form was received she gave me the date 22/02-correct when they received it as I send it special delivery by 1pm next day and then they sent a letter out with a different date in April. Need to call really but can’t find the time xxx

Totally understand my wee girl goes 3 hours so I personally don't think they can vouch for her either so I'll deffo fight there decision* * if they decline it as I know she should get hrm. It's the waiting that's annoying me
