DLA wait time thread 42

I know this has been asked loads but I’ve never paid attention as honestly didn’t think we’d be awarded.
but what do I do now in terms of informing uc. I know I go on to the children and change of circumstances or some thing. But then do I need to write in my journal? And what date do I give them? Currently on hold to try and find out rates etc, but then what date do I give uc? The date I sent my forms or scan date? And then I need to ask for a back date don’t I?
I’m hoping some one nice answers and gives me the details because yesterday clearly a decision had be made when I rang but she said no update was available so 🙄

Same scan date as me was it a new claim? I never sent birth certificate my claim is for teenager though and not been asked for it? maybe it's for younger ones possibly? or maybe that is holding mine up and didn't realise needed to send it 🤦I'm to scared to ring after the one call I did make and got someone so moany wouldn't even check progress for me last week ! Hope you get it sorted and they find the birth certificate you sent in and put on system its definitely a battle isn't it didn't know what I was getting myself into and how nerve wracking it is xx

Yes new claim for my 3 year old so yes maybe for the younger ones. They asked me with the first letter I received which now feels a long time ago. Thank god I have cleared it up I definitely don't need added stress like that haha

Definitely worth giving a call with hope you get someone like the second guy I spoke to. He was so lovely and reassuring

@Summerrp 😂😂 honestly I did the same not long ago. Then had to wait another 40 mins on the right line!😂

So my scan date was 01/02, had the 15 week text yesterday saying our claim is still being looked at, phoned today and they’ve said it’s up to 15 week wait & not with a DM as of yet :( even though it’s been 15 weeks, god this is so stressful!

The worst part is my little boy gets overwhelmed and doesn't like when I make calls and I can't leave him so even calling is mission impossible. Just want it to be over soon please god 🙏

I feel your pain very similar dates and situation to me. I'm getting really fed up and struggling so much. Parking alone for his one hour nursery day is £20 a week. I tried walking and by time we reached the door sensory overload meltdowns from the 101 gardeners we passed 😪

@Summerrp its so hard isn’t it! I really do feel for you both. My DD is the same, meltdowns at any given moment, just wish the process was somewhat quicker for us all!

I feel really took back too. I took the text message yesterday as a positive sign we were getting close but clearly I was wrong! 😫

Unless you are in it you just don't understand 😞 take my hat off to you because it really isn't easy. Just so sad the system is like this, everything is a battle.

@Summerrp definitely, it’s hard enough dealing with everything else going on in the background without the stress of this too, DD’s initial appointment for her autism assessment is in a couple of weeks too so feel so on edge!
I’m going to phone back and see if I can get through to someone else, hopefully get a bit more info!

I’ve been patiently reading everyone’s posts for weeks now… Scan date 07/02.

I just called the helpline and was told that it’s 15 weeks wait and I will have a decision by 22/05. Has anyone else been given a date that they will receive a decision by and if so, has it actually happened?!

Also, my son is 13 years old and I had no evidence to send it apart from the details of someone who has been working with us. Has anyone been awarded a claim with so little evidence? We are waiting for CAHMS but it will be years. He doesn’t sleep, has me up most of the night, doesn’t go to school (isn’t even registered at a school as waiting for a, being hopeful here, Ehcp).

I saved this recently, just in case I need it, hope it helps. Also yes I’ve heard that you need to send a message on your journal stating that you have been awarded DLA, what rates and that you would like a backpayment from the date that you have been awarded from, probably either your scan date or the date you requested the forms if sent back in time. Maybe ask for the date that you have been awarded from while your on the phone If your not sure. Hope that makes sense x

Good afternoon, I was wondering if anyone has applied for carers allowance recently and how long it took to hear back? When I first applied on the 9th April it said up to 6 weeks and it's been 5 weeks today
Any prior dealings/ knowing anyone who has done this would help, thankyou

Im actually quite mad at myself for calling again today the last 2 times I've called iv been told its definitely with a d.m and expect a decision within the next 2 weeks today however he reckons I'm 14 weeks not 15 even tho he stated scan date as 30/1 and its not with a d.m it's in a holding cue. Honestly don't know who to believe. This whole system is absolute dogs bollocks

I’m still here 10/01! Desperately trying not to call as she told me I would definitely hear by 16th. Trying to hold out until Monday. I’m not sure the saying no news is good news 🤷🏽‍♀️

Different people telling you different things, same as me. We just want facts is that so hard to ask 😭

Hey guys , I called and was a nice girl named Lydia , she said my scan date is 04/03 and that it takes around 20 weeks for COC too. I asked her if it was in a holding pile or with the decision maker . She said its with DM so could be anytime between 22nd July and today , and that if I don't get it by then I should call. I tried to tell her about my sons scentre visits but she said she can't make me a priority until I'm 20 weeks .

It was our return deadline for the new claim today, but I actually sent it back 3 weeks ago. As we had renewed my son's passport in the interim I just gave them a ring to update that info and check that they had actually received the completed forms - current situation is that we have a scan date of 24/4 and was told that the current expectation is 15 weeks before it first gets passed to a decision maker for consideration.
