Congratulations 👏 👏 👏.
You can divide de amount by the weeks you wait and you will get a rough Idea what rate is on.

Thank you, I’ve tried to do that but not sure I’ve done it right because of the rates going up. I worked it out at mrc and lrm but that’s on the current rates, where as some of it would have been the old rates. Sorry if that doesn’t make sense. I’ll just wait for my letter I think. I hate calling. We get told to be nice and polite, yet some handlers are awful and rude. X

Hi there,

Long time stalker, first time poster!

Mum to a 8 year old with tourettes, suspected ASD. Scan date 25/01, recieved our award text last night at 6pm. I cried so hard. The validation I felt was overwhelming. No idea on which rate yet but even the lowest rate will be such a support for us! Just over the moon.

I'm not brave enough to call for rates. Does anyone know how long the letter takes to arrive? And it terms of Universal Credit, do I just update them that we have been awarded or shall I wait for the dla letter first? Do I have to request the backdatement from them? Thanks in advance for any assistance!!! ❤

Sleeplessi · 14/05/2024 10:12

@Dani2612 really empathise with everything you’ve said. It’s an horrendous process. We have anEHCP battle going on concurrently for DS11 who is currently not able to attend his primary school but is due to go to a MS secondary in Sept

The gaslighting and the ridiculous processes that make no sense are so draining

Hope it all works out for you

(29/01)I hope to hear from them this week as well. I sent and not a lot of evidence, just OT report, waiting lists for assessment ASD and DCD, Elsa weekly letter . I hope it's enough... What do you think?

Hi all,

I hope you don't mind me joining, I started the DLA process in March. The application was scanned on 25/4, I called this morning and they said the application was processed on 9/5 and is with DM. I know decisions can take up to 20 weeks but I didnt expect it to be with the DM so quickly. How long can it stay with the DM for? The wait feels so long!

Fee89 · 13/05/2024 16:56

Will be a witch hunt if they do 😬😂. We are all too invested.

@Matilde08 What day are you calling?

Hi ✨️ If nothing..then this Thursday again. I'm away for a holidays for couple of days to clear my mind and just simply taking advantage while my parents are around to look after my boys. It helps a bit to not be too focus on it, but still at the back of my mind.

Matilde08 · 14/05/2024 11:03

Persianpoppy · 13/05/2024 17:12

@Tracy37x @Fee89

So.. gave them a call, the DM needs to call me tomorrow to finalise our AWARD!! 😭 she couldn't tell me what we have been awarded however, there's an error made by my son's GP who had completely written my sons name WRONG hence why there hasn't been any updates. But, my sons consultant sent the same report but with his extra parts and my sons name written properly and they figured the GP letter was for my son too.
I'm having heart palpitations!! I want to cry! 😭 xx

So glad to read this 💝💐✨️🫂🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊 Congratulations 🎉 🎊 👏🏻 💐 🥳

Matilde08 · 14/05/2024 11:07

@Kaz87 @Lauzyparkzy @Kmcx93 Thank you, ladies 🫂✨️💝 hopefully I don't need to call them on Thursday as they are coming back to me before with their decision finally.

That’s really quick don’t know how the system works it’s just like random dates getting awarded

How do you get it marked urgent? My scan date is 28/2

Dani2612 · 14/05/2024 12:05

@Sleeplessi
Thank you, it’s awful isn’t it! Hope it works out for you too! Really hope you manage to get an EHCP sorted for your son in time for high school too, must be so stressful for you. I know the feeling, I was hoping to at least have my daughters diagnosis in place before high school, referral was made in yr4 but then Covid happened and delayed things further 🤦‍♀️ I ended up completing an EHA and having a support worker as was so worried about the transition.

I am about to begin the EHCP process too, having to apply myself with the help of our support worker. School won’t support it as she masks and is fully capable academically despite them seeing her struggle in so many other ways 😔If only they could see her once she gets home!

Dani2612 · 14/05/2024 12:07

Btw, I meant to say congratulations in my other post to those that have recently been awarded, so so pleased for you all 🥳🎉 I know @Fee89 @Persianpoppy and @MrsRawl were a few of them! Really sorry if I’ve missed anyone out, tired brain 😅

Can I ask those of you that have been awarded that are still here, did any of you receive the text to say that you had been awarded? My brain is driving me crazy after yesterdays phone call thinking the longer I don’t receive a text, the more likely it is that it’s a decline 😔 wish I hadn’t called 😂

Hey, yeah i recieved a text stating she was awarded, but not everyone does get a text. Most people either find out by calling or see payment in their bank xx

Tiredmum1223 · 14/05/2024 12:31

@Dolly2014 I know, I didnt realise that it went straight to the DM. How long have people waited for the decision to be made?

Summerrp · 14/05/2024 12:33

06.02 Just rang for the first time, still in a holding pile and isn't yet with decision maker. So disheartened. I explained struggles and she said she'd leave a note for decision maker to eventually call when they recieve it.

She also said I need to send his birth certificate which was sent and returned at the very beginning. God that call has made me feel so disheartened. I thought I might have some news this week however looking very unlikely

Summerrp · 14/05/2024 12:42

I'm just so confused she said while your on the phone with me can you send his birth certificate? When I said it had been sent and returned a long time ago she said someone hasn't done their job. I'm still unclear if it's been scanned on or not. Think I'm going have to call back and speak to someone else

She did say tho that it doesn’t mean it will be looked at . Was yours marked as urgent

bloom1927 · 14/05/2024 12:49

@Summerrp hi, I had the same issue with birth certificate, it took a good few weeks but they did process it on the system eventually!

I didn’t receive any text messages, I just had one generic letter around the 8 week mark to say they was still looking at my claim. X

@Fee89 ive missed a call from DWP but, I can't even call them back until after I've got the kids. My kitchens being renovated by the council and there's tooo much noise to even make that call 😭 xx

Summerrp · 14/05/2024 12:58

I just called back and explained the situation spoke to a lovely gentleman who was so helpful. He confirmed they absolutely have the birth certificate on the system. It is being worked on and not in a holding pile. My goodness I'm sure some of these people want to stress you more.Thank god I called back
