I will apply for a CEA card when he's 5 and a MAX card when he's 5 but does anyone know what else we can get for him?

I saved this recently, just in case I need it, hope it helps. Also yes I’ve heard that you need to send a message on your journal stating that you have been awarded DLA, what rates and that you would like a backpayment from the date that you have been awarded from, probably either your scan date or the date you requested the forms if sent back in time. Maybe ask for the date that you have been awarded from while your on the phone If your not sure. Hope that makes sense x

Thank you, I managed to do it. So confusing and I ended up ringing them to make sure I did it correctly and they said yes.

Just called back again, they said our claim would be sent to the DM this week as it’s been 15 weeks and will have a decision within the next 10 days! Relieved, but still nervous!

Same scan date as me was it a new claim? I never sent birth certificate my claim is for teenager though and not been asked for it? maybe it's for younger ones possibly? or maybe that is holding mine up and didn't realise needed to send it 🤦I'm to scared to ring after the one call I did make and got someone so moany wouldn't even check progress for me last week ! Hope you get it sorted and they find the birth certificate you sent in and put on system its definitely a battle isn't it didn't know what I was getting myself into and how nerve wracking it is xx

I didn't send birth certificate, I was never asked! I did however Include his passport number on the form so maybe if you give one you don't need to give the other?

If I call again and I hear that womans voice I'm hanging up, she was pleasant enough but absolutely scatty and in no way reassuring. Second advisor needs a medal for his approach

What’s your scan date please mine is the 30/01, she told me yesterday it could be any day now I get a decision x

Our scan date is the 26/01 and still waiting, got a text a week ago. I called and they said not yet with a decision maker. So just waiting now.

Scanned 06/02, decision was made today and was declined 😭 now need to wait for a statement of reasons to be sent out and hopefully able to evidence an MR. Absolutely gutting after waiting all of this time now have to wait more!

Honestly, these waiting times are just plain crazy! It feels like we're trapped in a third-world country with this kind of delay. It's simply not fair, especially when DLA is meant to help those who truly need it, not add extra stress for parents or caregivers of the child applicant.

forms received 25/01, I called today and they said it’s currently a 20 week wait. I received a letter saying 15 week so said this to them and the said it’s now 20 weeks as there is a backlog 😢

@Summerrp glad they sorted it and received it OK and hope you hear back soon with good outcome 🤞 I will keep eyes peeled on here as same scan date so will wait for others nearer time hearing back and then may brave another call 😅

So my scan date was 01/02, had the 15 week text yesterday saying our claim is still being looked at, phoned today and they’ve said it’s up to 15 week wait & not with a DM as of yet :( even though it’s been 15 weeks, god this is so stressful!

Same scan date, had the 15 week txt yesterday too. I hope we aren’t waiting much longer x

Finally I can share, we got awarded on Friday found out today by phoning on the off chance. Scan date is 13.02.24 so 13 weeks today :)

1 hour 25mins to answer 😫 lady was lovely and said not with a decision maker yet but very close as they are takeing 13-15weeks to have a decision made my scan date 8/2/24 so completely different to the lady last week telling me im no where near 20 weeks so dont call back till june and also MRs ars now takeing 11weeks used to be 4weeks but they have a major backlog to get through

Amazing news! What area are you? Wondering if certain areas get done in less time than others or if it is completely random
