@Fee89 to be honest I'm too scared to ask, in my head if its another decline (which I think it might be) I feel it will be even harder to claim PIP for her. She is under CAMHS for emotional and wellbeing / anxiety support and her therapist is leading the referral for ASD/ADHD assessment I've been trying for 3 years to get her on the pathway but school have basically told everyone that she is a normal child who receives no other support apart from extra time in her exams, and that is the reason that DLA was declines in the first place, she is doing ok (masking well) in school and is not a trouble maker so she's not even on their radar and what is more annoying is the person who DLA spoke to has not even had a conversation with my child during this whole school year, not once. My niece has the same issues had receives DLA HRC and has been extended til she's 17 while she applies for PIP, this process is soul destroying!

Rang back today, was told a decision has been made but they can't discuss it with me & all the information will be enclosed in the paperwork which will take up to 2 weeks

Pip is so much easier than dla. My eldest went from middle care and low mobility to high on both from pip. When applying or sending extra info send a asd fact sheet on masking in girls if you can find one. It just then reminds them that masking is a true thing. Both my girls masked it then became too hard for them.

@Fee89 my daughter was declined the MR was for them to re look not convinced they actually looked at any off the evidence that was sent in going by the letter off reasons 🤦‍♀️

Mummy2AuDHDson · 10/05/2024 13:48

Parking!!!!

SD 27.02

Hopefully a few weeks but gonna guess it won't be till July 🤦🏻‍♀️

sjm100 · 10/05/2024 13:51

@Fee89 With my MR I wrote a letter saying that my daughter basically wouldn't get through the day if I didn't do the things I did for her, I mean in the past I've handed her medication and a drink for her to take and when next dose was due she hadn't even taken the earlier dose, and that its well documented that girls mask in social settings, the problem is that most people who answer the phone are less than useless and I don't think they'd be able to help me, and now they've changed the PIP process, can't just ring up for the forms now have to go through a telephone assessment and I don't think she'd be able to do that, my niece had to do this and when my SIL was helping her with answers the caller was telling my SIL that my niece had to do this by herself. I can't see her doing that, and the thought of her struggling stresses me out so at the moment I've just put it to the back of my mind until I hear about the DLA. xx

Congratulations what a relief for you and your daughter. Can I ask how they told you so quickly? Did you get a text or DM call you up? Thanks

Purplepinapple3 · 10/05/2024 14:52

I don’t know if anyone will know this answer but my scan date is the 22/1 and I have recently separated from partner on 3/5 so I am wondering if she gets awarded will they back pay until scan date as it’s now a single claim? Everything is stressing me out x

Zoes3d1 · 10/05/2024 14:57

Following.. I have just made an account on here as have been looking at updates on these threads and everyone is so supportive. My scan date is 6th Feb. Good luck everyone still waiting! it is certainly a anxious time all this waiting. I called today and was surprised to get straight through! But then the man at the other end of the phone wouldn't even take my references number and said call back in 3/4 weeks!

TeaPleaseX · 10/05/2024 14:58

With my eldest I was sent a letter asking if I wanted to be her appointee obviously it's different as she was already on dla but maybe you can call and ask for the form
I'm waiting on a dla claim for my youngest at the moment recently diognosed with adha and swapping my eldest to pip only on week 7 for dla and send my daughters form of a week ago for pip I'm dreading it as she's no longer on meds for her adhd as she refuses to take them so doesn't see any health care professionals
She has pica as well which costs us a fortune to cover the things she eats constantly

sjm100 · 10/05/2024 15:29

@Crystalsangel08 my SIL was appointee for my niece and my niece still had to answer all the questions, with the changes to PIP in March this year I can't even download the forms, my daughter has to ring up answer the questions and then they decide from that if she can apply for PIP, but she can't do that until next sat after she's turned 16 xx

I was allowed to answer for my daughter they never even spoke to her 🤔 seems they make up the rules as they go
she turned 16 on 27th of March this year
The having to wait to 16 is a ball ache and the forms takes forever to come plus you only get a month to get them back
I had to call up after 2 weeks to ask for them again to which they granted me an extension of 2 more weeks like it was my fault I didn't return them
