Aree... loads doesn't even know.
We didn't even know anything about ARFID..till ended up in hospital. That was traumatic for him and me as well. One of the ambulance guy being really strict forced him to eat a toast what he never eats.. loads of crying.. bless him, he tried as he was told otherwise we have to go to hospital. He couldn't recover from stomach bug and stopped to eat even those limited foods, was drastically loosing weight. Sent back from emergency twice, I was scared what's going on. We ended up in hospital and everyone was in shock he's 7 years old as he looked like 5. I explained my fears just to make sure they take it seriously and do all the tests. He's dad died from very aggressive bowel cancer few years prior. It triggered me so much as I thought the worse. He's a spit of my late husband and see him loosing all that weight gave loads of flashbacks. Anyways I'm glad they toke it seriously and we ended up with really nice pediatrician whos actually speeded up all the processes with his autism assessment as well. She showed me all the blood tests results to put my mind at piece that he's OK, but he just has that ARFID and with kids like him the worse thing to do is to force him eat. We can courage to try, but never force as it will make the opposite effect. At this point we already used to and we just accept it how it is. But if honest financially it takes more as sometimes I need to do extra travels to certain shops to by that certain food, certain brand.
