Oooh I'll definitely call tomorrow! Is a case manager the same as a decision maker?

Im not sure tbh 🤦‍♀️😂 I presume so?
Let me know what they say to you tomorrow, if you’re awarded, I’ll call again 😂

I had this last week .. they said the exact same to me last Thursday.. it then went to a case manager on the Friday and I was awarded on Tuesday! My scan date is 23/01 .. doubt it’ll take until the end of May.. just think they like to give people the last possible date to stop people calling Back! I’d call again on Monday lovely xx

Edited

Ooooo I hope mines quick like that, I’ll definitely be calling back before the end of May, I can’t help myself 😂😂x

I think she was trying to hint I was calling too early… I was like ‘15 weeks tomorrow’… 😂

When/how often do you think I should call for an update? I'm only 12.5 weeks in so probably still have a fair while to wait but the not knowing is giving me anxiety. Part of me knows that calling more than likely isn't going to help as I called 9 days ago and the person was quite blunt and gave me the standard 'it takes 20 weeks ' statement and nothing else. I really need to hang on in there and be patient really I know.

Keeping everything crossed for you both.. sending hugs x

Well I phoned again, (I know I am making it worse for myself) but the anxiety is driving me insane. I spoke to a call handler named Chloe and she gave me the same script as usual so I asked to speak to someone I can speak to about financial hardship as me and children’s father split on 3rd may so I have to also wait on uc so I am struggling at the moment. I got through to a lovely lady called Jo and she said my daughters claim was assigned to a case manager on 7th may (I was told it was sent over last Monday) she said no definitely on the 7th and she will need time to go through information provided and if she needs anything clarifying she will have to write to those people and wait for a response also. She marked it as financial hardship but she said it doesn’t speed things up as the case manager has to work through everything l. She said upto 6 more weeks so I’m gutted and back to constant checking on phone and bank. I hope we all hear soon. My scan date is 22/1 xx

Lauzyparkzy · 09/05/2024 15:59

My scan date on my letters is 7/2. But when calling for an update today she said 2/2!? She also said average times are currently 15/17 weeks so hopefully not too many more til we hear currently around wk 13/14 depending on what scan date they are going by 😂

Persianpoppy · 09/05/2024 16:06

Not DLA related but, I currently get PIP. Up until now I didn't realise I was eligible for a disability badge!
Does anybody know how I apply for that? Is it all online? Xx

Our application for blue badge was online. Really easy application form, uploaded evidence required and took about 3 weeks for it to be approved

Me too.
I am going to call back next Thursday.
I called again today but don’t know why I bothered. Didn’t tell me anything. I asked if it was still in the queue or with a DM, he said he didn’t know. Just said it could take up to 20 weeks. Honestly, nearly 6 months to look at a claim is beyond a joke!

Hi everyone❤️
been trying to look online but can’t find anything useful as usual lol. Just a couple of questions if anyone knows? So I’ve applied for carers allowance, does anyone know how long that’s taking at the moment? Also, I applied for child disability element and carers element on UC, I know the back pay can take a while but will the 2 elements be there on my next statement which will be next month as get paid every 25th x

Sorry for the questions did they back date it to his bday or when you sent your renewal in? X

Ast969 · 09/05/2024 17:18

Parking scan date 24/1. Rang today to see if had time to send extra evidence as recently saw specialist was told it was with a decision maker and should have a decision any day now so no point sending. I can send it after as a COC or MR depending on the outcome no decision on system could see. The wait is unbearable, have a gut feeling my be declined due to his age but has a lot of care needs due to his genetic condition.

Just to his birthday because he only got low rate mobility he was already on high rate care. If he'd got high rate mobility it would have been to start of the claim
