Well.. After 40 min hold I was connected with lady who took all the details and said she can see an update that exactly yesterday someone have looked at it for decision to be done, but needed some extra advice. When advice is back, decision will be made straight away, so from now on not too long. I then asked do I have to call or I will get text. She said a letter will be sent out and she said it's marked that I will get text message as soon as decision is made. So... on positive note, this time as much as I understood its with decision maker not case manager. And this time they didn't asked me to call back in two weeks if nothing so far. On negative note and here's my overthinking kicks in, if she said straight away the letter will be sent out, do I have to start to prepare myself It's decline!?..😔🫣 as I have not heard that someone who have been declined got a text message, it's always if a good news. But then again, she then said we will send you a text message as well so no more waiting. I do mention that this long waiting for 24 weeks makes me super anxious and mentally affects me not in good way. Then suddenly call was cut off not being even chance to say thank you 📞🙃

I want to cry!! The woman I spoke to was soo sympathetic, I don't know what happened I burst into tears on the call to her. She put me on hold, said she has spoken to the DM and they will pull up my sons claim today. They said that I should hear by Monday with a decision but she doesn't see a decline in her opinion. Also, she has put a text alert for the decision but told me to call the same way (523) if I don't hear anything by 3pm on Monday.
Blubbered about my son's bath time issues, she was so lovely! 😭

No no I'm praying it is all good news for you! I can't seem to believe they'd make you wait this long and then, decline! Surely they're not so cruel! I reckon we'll both have good news at the same time my love! ❤️

That would be super cruel not only the reason - why (pension because his dad died) but half year of waiting to be declined 🤦🏻‍♀️
So... hopefully both of us will get a good news soon ..you for sure 👏🏻 I actually wanted to let her know my anxieties about been declined and see what she would say about it, but that call was cut off suddenly

Fee89 · 09/05/2024 11:49

@Matilde08 yes people get text even if its declined. It sounds like they got given a kick up the ass and finally your on last stages. Give them a call tuesday if you dont get a text.
@Persianpoppy See not all off them are horrible 🥰 id say ring tomorrow after 1ish. You could have an update

In my case......My daughter is type 1 diabetic. I have to buy all her hypo treatments for at home & school. 'Free' snacks where she doesnt need insulin is meat which has put my food shop cost right up. As she is diabetic she can bed wet which means my electric cost has risen. Barrier cream and spray to remove her plasters are £40 a month. She was diagnosed october but had to wait 3 months before i could even apply for her then it was 12 week wait. So i explained i cant keep up with the cost off it all and dla is meant to help cover the extra costs xx

doingmybest23 · 09/05/2024 12:31

@Fee89 ahhh thank you xx

I'm really nervous too! I'll be calling as soon as get home from the school run. Oh yeah me too, I'm really starting to doubt myself with what I put on the form. I'm pretty sure I stated everything I possibly could, I have so much evidence too! I'm sure it'll be find. I should have scanned the forms so I have a copy 🤦🏼‍♀️

Question for everyone as I want to be prepared - what sort of security questions do they ask you? And can I be reminded of the options I need to get to the right department when calling please? 😊

Xchels · 09/05/2024 12:56

Mine went to a dm on Tuesday and was apparantly marked as urgent, no idea as to why…. Hoping I hear a decision soon. The closer it gets the more anxious I get!

LoisDaniellex · 09/05/2024 13:07

ive just rang and mine is with a decison maker by the sounds of things she said should here in the next two weeks!

Vic747 · 09/05/2024 13:46

My sons was a renewal, they are taking 13 weeks, I just called he has had LRM added and is staying on HRC I am so relieved!!

I have found that if you agree to fo the survey you get connected much quicker, 15 mins instead of 45 today!

3boysand2girls · 09/05/2024 13:48

Afternoon ladies iv not posted for a long while. Scan date 31/01 just rang and been told its with a decision maker and I should hear something anytime soon if not give them a call back next week.

i dont know what exactly takes so long if im totally honest with you!! im pretty sure ill be declined aswell my son has hearing aids for mild to moderate hearing loss was also born with a cleft palate and has SALT every 2 weeks as his speech is affected, he also has a teacher of the deaf who helped me

im hoping we both hear back soon xx

Tracy37x · 09/05/2024 14:26

I caved… and I called 🤦‍♀️😂

Scan date 26/1

Lady I spoke to said it’s in a holding pile to go to a case manager by 15 weeks she then tried calculating this, I told her it’s 15 weeks tomorrow. She said latest should be 11th May, then can take a few weeks. So if I’ve not heard by end of May, call back and they will chase it up for me…

My son also has moderate hearing loss, using a hearing aid and is under SALT and slowly getting up the list to the various courses they've referred him for. I meet his teacher of the deaf on Monday but I applied on my own back in January for DLA, I was so frustrated that he had been known to have hearing loss for over a year and nothing had been done to help him. His first failed hearing test was January 23 and he was given a hearing aid in April 24. Worried were going to be turned down for DLA, it seems to be hit and miss with hearing loss. I know it's about the care needs though so tried to focus on that.

Oooh I'll definitely call tomorrow! Is a case manager the same as a decision maker?

I had this last week .. they said the exact same to me last Thursday.. it then went to a case manager on the Friday and I was awarded on Tuesday! My scan date is 23/01 .. doubt it’ll take until the end of May.. just think they like to give people the last possible date to stop people calling Back! I’d call again on Monday lovely xx
