DLA wait time thread 42

Thanks so much, I’m hoping something by Monday it’s so frustrating! X

I just spoke to a lovely lady, she said it should be with a decision maker soon, and if awarded I should get a letter and a text. I did get a text saying they are still looking at my sons claim though. Scan date 26/01/24 x

That is so shocking!!! I am so appalled to hear you were treated like that and spoken to in that manner! He obviously has no empathy and should not be in this type of role! So frustrating when feel you cant be heard or complain to somehere that it is actually going to be taken seriously. Ultimately you are just trying to get support for your child and family so stuff him and his petty little ego trip!! Call as much as you want and dont let some T£$% put you off - if anything we should call me to make his life hell!! Sorry ranting. Good luck

Mine was done within one working day. I got put priority friday and monday 9.30am i had text x

Honestly whoever that guy was shouldn't have that job! He didn't know basic alphabet! I'm saying TANGO LIMA and he's putting in F and T. Then he's telling me I've given the wrong details. Ughhhhh, makes me want to throw my phone. Every night it's a struggle to get my son in the bath, he requires a shower. They don't seem to understand my son screams trauma each time he has a bath. I can't get an occupational therapist until he's officially on DLA. He'll scream to the point where he'll have a seizure. Times where he's had a seizure in the bath and I've had to hold him to stop him from drowning. It's mentally exhausting. I've told them all of this and even then, nothing.

Your a strong mumma bear dont forget that. You are doing your best and your best is being amazing 🥰. For now just stand him in the bath and wash him stood up. Or just wash him stood on bathroom floor with a face cloth. Whats abit of water on the floor when it comes to his safety 🥰. Remember no decision is still positive and it just needs a little longer. Dont let people like him get in your head xx

I asked for a text and they did. But i dont think everyone gets texts x

So sorry additionally to what you have to go through you have to 'face' this stress with the calls. Sending hugs and hope your waiting is over soon and you get all that well deserved support to your son 🫂
I'm on hold 📞 at the moment..20 min... not putting too much hopes and ready for: still with case manager, wait another 2 weeks..till the another 6 months pass 🤦🏻‍♀️🙃

he refuses every method I've tried with the bath, but wash cloth way does work sometimes!
At my parents house, he's the happiest little boy in the shower as he loves rain water so he associates the shower to that 🥹 so most days I'm travelling to my parents just so he can get clean.
523 wayyyy now, on hold! I will make sure a manager deals with this now. Priority has been put on the system, only thing that guy managed to do right was check that! 🙄 xx

You've got this 💪 we are all behind you. If they are rude ask to speak to a manager and explain how you have been treated and how it's made you feel hun. It isn't acceptable. Xxkeeping watch on the outcome

Scan date 07/02. Phoned up yesterday and was put as a priority and just been told it is now with a decision maker, I've requested to receive a text once a decision has been made. Has anyone else been marked as a priority and how long did you wait for a decision?

My ds was in receipt of HRC until he turnt 5 and didn't realise it was up for renewal until it had ended so I had to put in a new application, hoping it's a straight forward. 🤞

It really is, it's beyond a joke that they would take so long without the empathy. They don't understand what us parents have to go through on a day to day basis for our little ones x
