DLA WAITING TIME 2024

Rang up just now and been told it’s going to a decision maker this week and I should know by the end of next week if he’s been awarded or not 🙏 🥳- Scan date 06.01

Justkeepsplashing · 22/04/2024 10:50

I called this morning and spoke to a lovely man called Philip (i think he had a Wigan accent), he was so kind as I’m worried I don’t have an official diagnosis or enough evidence. He said many of their applications are for children still awaiting official diagnoses. They’ve received my updates but not the teacher’s. School confirmed their information was sent last week.

Philip advised that I call two weeks to tomorrow as that’ll be my 20 week point. I know me - I’ll be calling Wednesday

Aww that's new to me as I haven't sent any evidence to start off but I haven't received a letter requesting it.

They also requested my daughters birth certificate to

Anxiouslywaitingmum · 22/04/2024 10:51

A man answered. Took my son's name and ref number then put me back on hold 😔
He sounded grumpy too

Kaz87 · 22/04/2024 10:39

Yes definitely let them know. Can I ask how long was your son awarded for? I'm only asking as it might make it easier when renewing as they might ask you if you've had his diagnosis yet? Just guessing tho 🤔

It runs out June this year. Had his forms to do his renewal makes me sick having to fill them out all over again! Since his diagnosis I feel like had no help and support at all! He masks in school so lashes out soon as he gets home. But because they refused his adhd still in the process of appealing this.. it’s just like once diagnosed there done with you xxx

Anxiouslywaitingmum · 22/04/2024 10:57

So apparently only gone to a DM today. They are being done on date order.
If I'm awarded I'll get a text and a letter, if I'm not then it will just a be a letter.
Still none the wiser

MsTB101 · 22/04/2024 11:07

Spoke to Ash, it's been registered apparently, could be another 2 weeks he thinks. ... sounded like he was making it up as he went to be honest and I'm none the wiser

RayahB · 22/04/2024 11:12

Good luck with your call 📞 hopefully some clarity. I will wait for couple of days and then call. But it's upsetting that they can't even tell anything.

Just called up DLA as my daughters claim ends next month. Wanted to see how far along the renewal is. She said it's still in a pile and that if the renewal date passes, I'll still receive payments as I sent the forms back before renewal date. That's not true is it?? Does anyone know how long renewals are taking at the moment please? I hope you all get some answers soon.

@Fee89 Thank you for that. I didn't know (I thought I was being fobbed off) That's a bit of a relief then. After DLA 'losing' all my daughters paperwork and evidence for the first claim, I'm so untrusting of them. x

Yes. Last week on Thursday. Went through straight away as I did choose option more than 20 weeks of waiting. First lady toke all the details, security questions, bank details.. she could see straight away that we have waited already more than 20 weeks. She then put me on hold to do some checks, I got a bit excited. And then she forwarded me to another lady who just simply said it can take longer than expected. No update, no approx time. Very general.. it sounded like she have said that many times to many that day. So ended my call with no clue what's going on at all. Was hoping maybe after this call some movements.. so far nothing..no texts no letter..

Call today if you can if no proper update then ask to speak to a manager or for manager call back. At 20 weeks they are meant to mark you as urgent x
