DLA WAITING TIME 2024

Parking here to keep an eye out for when claims later in January start getting processed. Scan date 22/1 so hoping it’ll only be a few weeks. I’m really anxious about it now I’ve just had to give up my main job as it wasn’t feasible with having a child that goes to school part time or gets excluded regularly.

Why would that have an input on his claim? You cant claim disability through that 🤔. Surly that isnt right. I think you need to arrange a meeting with cab and get them involved to help you. Im so sorry 😔. Sending huge hug xxx

It shouldn't as it's nothing about him to be special needs and for me to be his carer. It's about that his dad unfortunately died while he wad 3and half years old and I was left with four dependents myself.

So rang after lunch answered litterally straight away was so shocked. First guy I spoke to said that it's taking 23 weeks so looking at 26th July then got put through to change bank details and asked him for an update and he said coc taking 13-14weeks and my sons is in a holding pile buy should hear by late may early June. Honestly don't think they know what they are saying.

What a difference in timescale they gave you I really think they just use and number that comes into there head I rang today was told it had been flagged Monday and highlighted for DM that I should hear in few days but I will not hold my breath I am going to ring everyday for update annoy them lol @Ncheetham01

I rang today on my break. Scan date is the 20th of feb. She said it’s with a case manager and will be looked at in May . She said 15 weeks average time she was really nice .

Oh hun I’m so sorry 🙁 it’s strange the 2 things have nothing to do with each other?! DLA is completely separate from everything else. It’s not a decline it’s can’t be, they wouldn’t do all this work and chase around and want extra things just to give you a decline. Just like the NI numbers, if it was a decline they wouldn’t bother getting an NI number they would just send a letter with decline.

I haven’t called yet this time but is there a new phone line system? Everyone seems to be getting through straight away but last year it would be 1-2 hours waiting to talk to someone

Thank you 🌷 I really hope they will do those check ups properly and realise it's nothing to do with his special needs and that I need status to be his carer as he needs extra support. Just had a proper breakdown and can't even remember last time would cry so much.. I know I should keep positive and think clearly and just wait........

hi, just wondering, i called today and asked if my form can be prioritised due to certain reasons. I had a call back and bless them they have now put it as urgent. Does anyone know how long it normally is when this happens? I didt ask cause I just felt relieved it will get done quicker. Hope everyones well :)

Thank you for getting back to me :) 12 february. I no iv not waited as long as others. Just circumstances, I thought be worth asking :) glad I did ask. Only prob is I havt been able to send the new, another diagnosis, letter in yet as still waiting for it so dont think that going to help me 😖
