DLA WAITING TIME 2024

i can’t believe it im in shock feel almost sick. saw a pending payment into my acc from DLA😮😮 I think I stared at it for an hour to make sure I wasn’t seeing things 😢 I really thought they were never going to process my application honestly.
it looks like MRC which I’m content with even though I believe it should be HRC. I have zero fight in me 😂 I really hope it’s more than a year award 🤞🤞

@Matilde08 I really think you need to speak to a manager and push things. I think for me they processed my claim on Monday after I spoke to the manager and really pushed for it.

This might sound really random but does everyone have an idea in their head of the award they are hoping for?
I’m hoping for HRC and LRM but thinking it’s more likely to get MRC and LRM (if anything that is as we all know what they’re like 😂).
The more the dates are moving on the more I’m stressing and it’s literally taking over my life 😂.

Also I’m just catching up from the last few days. Congratulations on all of the awards - amazing news and I’m so happy that your children have all got what they deserved.

It must feel amazing to know that you have been heard and someone has actually listened to what you have said and not just shrugged it off. Us parents of children with additional needs already get that enough day in day out as it is.

@Fee89 i was so sad by your post and to hear what you had to go through. You’re such a kind and supportive person on here and we are all here to give you the same in return ❤️ x

We’re also in the jacket potato club, he has jacket potato and beans every single day. He doesn’t even like either of those things, school says he eats it but I’m not sure. And if I send packed lunch he just eats his crisps and nothing else.
i tried to speak to our school and they said he chooses it. He doesn’t speak at school due to selective mutism so I think he just points to what he wants every day 🙄

I'm hoping she gets awarded atleast mrc and lrm. I do think she should get high as im up 5/7 nights a week with her either treating a hypo or hyper. Some nights she wont go to sleep until 3am. If shes had a day of constant hypos she cant physically move.

Girls I am hounding them now ringing everyday. Man on phone today said it was flagged Monday and yesterday it has been highlighted for DM and they are now hoping for decision in few days scan dates 15/19 Jan and i will be ringing everyday until dm has made decision lol

I have phoned today to check if my new evidence had been scanned on only to find out my son had been awarded yesterday! So grateful
he got awarded MRC until 2026.

just wanted to wish you all luck and thank you for the last couple of months! Wouldn’t have got through this wait without you

Also - just in case some of you may want to know (as I always wonder what others may be diagnosed with or why others applied) - my son was born with sever cleft lip and palate, has mild hearing loss, and also poor sight. He is having speech and language therapy and is otherwise a very bright child.

I’m going to stop calling them now, I’m making myself ill with worry and have been calling most days, as I know it’ll be a decline and then it’s another fight which means another six months to a year. My M/H is already bad from caring for daughter on my own. Her dad and my family say she’s just naughty. I’ve had a breakdown last month and now off work sick. Scan date 19th December but on hold waiting for info from school. Still not been received or scanned by their system despite being posted by school last week.

I’m really happy for everyone’s awards and crossing everything for good news for everyone else. I will post here as soon as I hear something xxx

So I cracked and called again this morning! Scan date 4/1.

Are they just making it up as they go along? It's so stressful!

Friday they told me it's with a decision maker and it might take another 1-2 weeks for a decision.

Monday they said that claims are taking 20 weeks and not to bother calling for updates.

Tuesday they said that it had gone to a decision maker on Monday and I should hear within a week.

Today (Thursday) they said it's not with a decision maker and it's taking around 18 weeks to go to decision makers so not to bother calling for another few weeks.

I'm sorry but what is going on?? I just want to know what the status is. They clearly aren't using the same system or on the same page, it appears that all the call handlers are just making things up as they go along! It's so stressful!

What is their excuse for the delay? Id ring and request a manager. Remember we are here to support you. No such thing as a 'naughty child' and id punch anyone that says that. How old is your daughter? I went through hell with my eldest. She was that violent we had to call the police. An amazing officer turned up (it was his first solo job) and honestly without him our lifes wouldnt off changed for the better. Please remember to look after you aswell 💖 xx

He was nice but said unfortunately is very likely now that it will be 20 weeks... he couldn't tell me if was with dm or anything :-/
So im done calling them, I'm gonna rush my housework now as have to go 2 the leisure centre as my ds has swimming with school and I have to go to help him change b4 and dry and change after... :-/

Iv found not alot of call handlers go deep into your file. They just look if decision has been made and if not yet they make up any bull. If you get told different again ask to speak to manager as you want to complain xx

Thanks, I will do that. That makes sense, that some are actually looking at the file and some are seeing no decision and just making things up. It's infuriating because I just want to know! I should stop ringing really because it just stresses me out.

What makes it more annoying is seeing loads others with your scan date being awarded but then your being told different things. Some treat/talk to us like we are stupid xx
