DLA WAITING TIME 2024

i saw that too and honestly it gave me the vibe of maybe they were nagging so the person on the phone marked it or said it was marked as priority. Hoping all of ours come soon but honestly the whole DLA process is in shambles 🙄

@SAM2409 @UmElise thank you both, I’m hoping to get her into a mainstream school, it’s connected to her nursery and my other children go there so I know they will be good with her, I’m just hoping that she is able to start school with the support she needs and being diagnosed, but I’m wondering if I’m being to hopeful because we only have a year and 4 months before she would start primary school, loads of people keep telling me that the paediatrician won’t diagnose her and I will have to wait til she’s 5 to be referred to camhs and that’s a 4 year wait, but nursery has told me to keep pushing with the paediatric appointment because she really needs to be seen and that she needs the help sooner rather than later

Sorry, just seeing that really pushed my buttons. I get so annoyed when call handlers bullshit everyone. And some have to take action to get things done for our kids. But we wait like everyone else. Sorry i'm struggling to explain what i mean. Just to say im happy for any child getting what they deserve and its aimed at dla that im angry with not that person x

Yeah and the post right below that is someone waiting 27 weeks and sent more evidence 😔. Where is their priority x

@Bossofthehouse . Tbh I had to wait just over a year for my son to even begin the process and that’s after my sons senco contacted them to try and prioritise the assessment.
so it’s another long wait unfortunately:(.

the good thing is you don’t need the diagnosis for an EHCP, so if you think she’s needs one defo get the ball rolling on that, if you haven’t already.

I've been holding off calling I sent I coc scan date 16/02 . So If she Said 10 weeks for coc tempted to call see what they say. X

Sorry everyone for ranting. Iv calmed down now. Just hate the fact the system is so broken. Think lack of sleep has actually caught up with me. Thank you all for being supportive and not judging while i had that rant 😔💖 xx

@UmElise Do you mind me asking what award you got - our boy is 3 and a half and we've got all the things in place that you have mentioned (except we got a private consultant report whichi identified possible ADHD, FASD, neuro development delay - we were awarded LRC and we put in a MR (19/02) so waiting to hear back.
