Honestly starting to wish I never applied with the amount of stress it causes 🙈 I wish it were simpler and dla were easier to communicate with!

Now I'm panicking because when it asks about whether they can hear a whisper and normal voice in a quiet room, I put yes and then changed it to no, my boy is partially deaf and while he can hear voices, he often misheard words. Now I'm thinking I should have kept my answer as no. Its so bloody confusing 😩 now I feel like they will say no based on that and I don't know what to do xx

@Fee89 Wow your 11 month wait for a renewal, my partner did his in February even though his isn't up until October 2024, he suffers from paranoid scziphrenea Anxiety and other issues, so ofcourse him seeing rishi sunak announce the benefit reform coming into place has sent his paranoier wild , hopefully it won't be too long x my scan date for daughter is 6/3, in for the long haul.

BeWarmCat · 23/04/2024 20:57

Parking 27/2. Wonder if I'll get to thread 100 before I get a decision...

Oh my goodness, hopefully not long for you if it’s with the DM! Let’s be buddies whilst we wait news! Mine is on hold until they receive information from school and that was posted last week, so I’ve no idea when it’ll be with the DM. Keep us posted and good luck x

Thank you, I hope yours isn't too long now and they receive the information quickly! Yes let's, I've got my fingers crossed for us to hear soon🤞🏼 Do you plan on calling for an update? Will do and you, good luck too x

Yeah same, I’m shocked in this day that it’s not all moved over to some sort of online only system, would save so much aggro. I’ve spent weeks second guessing every single thing I put on the form, did I put enough, did I put you much, but I’ve decided today what will be will be and I’m going to try and forget about it. I read these threads and can’t believe all the different things each caller gets told regarding wait times etc so im desperately going to try and not call because I won’t be able to take the extra stress. 😩

It really would and I can't get my head around the fact that no one seems to get a straight answer. Half the time, they really do just make it up as they go along. I know what you mean, I'm trying to get to that point but my anxiety is through the roof ATM 😔 xx

6/3, me too, I applied last year for my eldest daughter who is 9 and I was awarded exactly 13 weeks after my scan date so do not know what happened since then as the wait has gotten higher 15/16 weeks.

Honestly pip renewal is so long atm. They had to pause to focus on new claims. People were waiting 18-24months they now have it to a year. And that messes with peoples heads as you get no letter just text every 2 months. My daughter got moved from dla to pip last year and that was done within 8 weeks. I hope your partner doesnt read too much into it 😔 x

Yeah, I have read loads about it being so long, it's unbelievable isn't it, he will be OK with all the reassurance I can hopefully give him, all the wars and changes in benefits, the media dont help but he is obsessed with reading it all, sorry for the info its just feels nice to release it sometimes, like i said to someone else my 9 year old daughter was awarded after 13 weeks exactly in April last year so don't know what has happened with the wait times it's horrible hope you hear something soon xx

We have become like an open family in here. We have all let everything out lol. No one is here to judge 💖. The wait time seems to off gone down. Off course some still waiting longer than others. But hopefully no one is waiting too much longer. Good luck xx

Mumzieof1 · 23/04/2024 22:05

Hi all, don't give up hope. Just to update you, I rang for forms 29/06/23, refused DLA in Nov, sent MR in the received Dec, MR was declined in I think Feb or March, logged a tribunal, days before I logged it my little one received an ASD diagnosis so sent that in too. The DWP had up till this Friday to respond to me, I received a call today from them asking me a couple of questions and offered me low rate mobility and high rate care! I can't believe it, from no award to that. Never give up for what your children deserve! Its been a long stressful process for me, I can't believe it's over finally. Good luck everyone x

Hope tomorrow brings lots of awards for all you lovelies and your babies get what they deserve ❤️

Edited

👋 for another 2023 buddy. Was told today it's with DM and if nothing in following 2 weeks, to call them back. Not getting too exited... 24th week for us already, so there's should be the light at the end of tunel.🤞🏻

I was told the wait time was originally 8 weeks too my son was diagnosed a couple of years ago but did not know about dla so only just doing it now and the wait time seems ridiculous could grow a new human in the time it takes these days! Will watch out for your posts as your date is with mine :)

If you(or anyone) would like help with PIP then please feel free to contact me. PIP is much easier than DLA. I hope you fought that outcome for yourself xx

I gave up, they made me feel so crap for even applying... I even had to have my cousin come with as couldn't leave house alone... different lots of meds and I can o small things but ask me to go busy places or gatherings and I freak!

👋🏼❤️! Ahh fingers crossed you hear something before the end of the week 🤞🏼 I feel for you guys who are still from November, the wait is awful and added unnecessary stress on top of day to day life but you are right there, hopefully not long now for you! I'm tempted to call in the morning but think I may try and hold off until Friday 🙈

Haha litterly, 15 weeks will make us end of june/beginning July, but the wait times are all over the place seems so long, my daughter is 6 who I'm applying for she is in year one, cannot read or write or count and do basic math ect bless her, she is amazing at art, that's her talent, school think she had issues with working memory and ADHD so she has been referred to CAHMS not diagnosed yet, I recieve DLA HRC for my eldest who has been diagnosed with overactive bladder, she is currently going through a autism assessment, she can be so difficult, life's hard but I get through it for them x

Tracy37x · 23/04/2024 22:40

I’ve been looking on the Facebook DLA page and it appears that LOADS of scan dates ranging from 3-5 Jan have been awarded today!

Matilde08 · 23/04/2024 22:41

Fingers crossed for you too 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻👋🏻🌷
I remember I prepared myself for a long wait as one of my friends had her son's award after 16 weeks of wait, but didn't expect half year for mine and still nothing 🤦🏻‍♀️😳
Wish you to hear something before you call them 🙂
