hmmm sounds odd! Completely different info! I think they’ve been told to try and give the same information so it’s a blanket 17 weeks wait. Makes me wonder if they do even bother checking or if they have different systems.

I first rang up for my forms in December. But then getting everything from school couldn’t post till January. I have only had one letter I rang up 3 week after I sent in they said a letter had been sent to say they had recieved the claim… this letter never come then in March a recieved a letter saying they are sorry they haven’t given me a decision yet it could take up to 15weeks.. so I am wondering what happened to my first letter. When I first started calling at end of March.. on the beginning of the phone call it was saying you will receive a letter about your payments by end of April. But now it doesn’t say that. So that confuses me even more

Sam250 · 23/04/2024 11:01

I had to chase them as never receved letter that they had my claim, but it is a good sign you got the 15 week letter, so your contact details correct and in the system. The automated message about payments end of April I believe everyone heard who called the DLA line. Hope that helps@Kee3k

Xxbecsmumoffourxx · 23/04/2024 11:03

Just called as I sent off more evidence and wanted to know if it was on the system. He was really nice said it can take up to 3 weeks but said call back in 2 and they will hurry it up. I asked if our claim was being looked at and he said its close to being looked at so I'm guessing the holding pile but his put a note to say there is extra evidence waiting to be scanned. Scan date 16/1.

This is the same for me although I printed mine off! I never received the first letter! Just the holding letter dated 6.03.24 saying would be 15 weeks. Also heard the same message when calling decision will be made before end of April. I’ve never had a text or any other letters from them. Frustrating!

Thanks dear for your kind words and advice.
💐 well, I guess thanks to you I just gave a go and called them. Choosed option "wait more than 20 weeks".. was connected by the voice I remember with the same call holder person. This time was more straight forward mentioning scan date and waiting for too long with no update. Found out they have not received copy of my marriage certificate, but she will pass me to the services who can look on our claim and the progress of it. I was connected with young man this time, who wasn't too chatty, a bit slow with talk, but said it with the decision maker at the moment. Recommended give it another two weeks if nothing, call them back. I don't know if I have given up or just can't see the light at the end of tunnel. But I would really like to believe him and it's a good sign. But what I have read here and by your experience, I have no clue what to believe..

if it was going to be a decline you would have heard back by now for sure. They need all relevant detail to process your claim and send out the award so I guess that’s a positive. Try to push it to the back of your mind for a week don’t let this consume you. From my experience I wouldn’t believe a word they say and call back in a week. There is definitely light at the end of the tunnel hun, it’s just a very very very long tunnel for us special need mommas 💕

Jkiss · 23/04/2024 11:19

When ringing for an update what options are you choosing? I want to ring to check they received my extra evidence but I seem to choose the wrong options x

Tracy37x · 23/04/2024 11:20

I just called again to see if my extra evidence I sent on 8th April had been received yet. No. Not yet apparently. She’s not sure if there’s a delay when sending via Freepost but to call back Friday and check and if not then resend.
I asked if there was an update yet. She said a decision hasn’t been made yet (obvs) but it’s taking 20 weeks now 🤷‍♀️

@Matilde08, you are not opening up to much, it’s absolutely logical and valid to feel overwhelmed when demands on us out way the resources available to us. What you achieve on a day to day basis by be consistently available to your boys is amazing. 24 weeks without an end sight is a long time, I sincerely hope that your wait is over in the next few days xxx

Thank you ✨️ for your positive message and kind words 💐

I think I will try to see like a positive update then if it's true. And that's a good advice to try to push it to the back on my mind and just keep waiting. Thanks again for encouragement at least to call them today again. Compare to update last week (not update at all) this one is something 🤭

Jkiss · 23/04/2024 11:34

So I rang and someone answered straight away, I was shocked I expected to have a wait. No new evidence on the system yet but not with anyone yet. Scan date 10/01. I was told it could be 20 weeks x

Kee3k · 23/04/2024 11:36

Why are we all getting told different time scales when we’re all ringing the same day. It doesn’t make sense I would rather them tell me the truth of how long it is actually taking then been lied to. And the whole April message. I think it’s wrong how they did that for everyone should be down for your number it gives people false hope

Persianpoppy · 23/04/2024 11:42

Little me (I'm 4ft9 at my big 29 age 😂) called up to change the number on the claim as I've been getting nuisance calls from horrible family members. Lovely lad on the phone, I had said can I be cheeky and as for an update 😊
Scan Date: 04/01
going to tag you here @Kaz87 as I've forgotten the others with same scan date as me!
The guy had said on Friday it had gone to the decision maker and I would hear by Friday this week with a decision. He also said, just keep an eye on your bank as they do take longer to send out the confirmation letter and not always do they send a text to say you have been awarded.
Fingers crossed! 🤞🏼 these few days just going to drag aren't they? 😭😂

@Kaz87 i hope you hear by Friday too! Don't want to say you will definitely as I've seen people with our scan date get awarded before us but I'm guessing this week they're dealing with 04/01 claims! 🤞🏼❤️

WorriedMother96 · 23/04/2024 12:18

Scan date 05/01, just called again this morning to check for an update and have been told it's now with a decision maker and I should have a decision within a week.

Suddenly feeling so nervous I'm gonna get a decline even though I was confident before 😫

Makes you feel sick doesn't it, knowing they could be looking at it any minute.
I've convince myself ours will be a decline just because of the battle we've had getting any help for my son!
All weekend my partner kept asking if I was ok, the closer it's got the the end the more I'm stressing.
Some days I wake up positive, others I'm just stressed and overthinking.

Thankyou @Persianpoppy we shall see as when I called yesterday she didn't mention anything about it being with DM so I hope the person you spoke to didn't lie and hopefully we hear hy the end of the week ❤️

Waiting1901 · 23/04/2024 12:40

My scan date is 03/03 , everyone else was in January, glad to have someone else that's recently sent theres! I think mine will be August and yours will probably be September. But could be earlier, lets update each other x

Anxiouslywaitingmum · 23/04/2024 13:29

Called at 1pm got through in 9 minutes!!!!
Confirmed definitely with a DM and if I haven't heard in a week to call as should have a decision by then.
In my head I laughed and thought I'm calling back tomorrow 🤣🤣

HangryLimeBeaker · 23/04/2024 13:34

Just thought I’d drop a comment - Not even got scan date yet but I am enjoying reading everyone’s progress with DLA - for those who are still waiting for results, good luck and fingers crossed for you all! Xxx

bingoringo4 · 23/04/2024 13:52

@HangryLimeBeaker hey, when did you send your forms? I don't have a scan date either

Ooo probably about a week ago. I have heard they take around a month to scan x

I’ve been waiting since the 5th of April. I have called and left multiple messages. I only received one response so far, saying it’s been passed to a decision maker that’s it xx and whenever I call they tell me to wait to heir back via the journal

Aww no mine hasn’t even gone to a decision maker yet I’m still waiting for them to verify my son gets dla for the element x

Mummyto5beautys · 23/04/2024 14:21

katiewil · 23/04/2024 07:01

I informed them of the changes on the 10th.. my next statement won't be showing until 06/05 so thinking it should show by then?
I asked them how long back pay will take and they also told me no time frame.. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Same date as my statement mine hasn’t even gone to a decision maker for the back date as they still waiting for the dla element to be verified x

BestZebbie · 23/04/2024 14:42

OOI - If we got the appropriate level of DLA award to then allow an application for Carers Allowance on the strength of it - does that then take a further 20 weeks starting from the DLA award date (plus whatever time it takes the applicant to turn the forms around)?
