Ohh wow, your earlier than me! What are they waiting for with your claim?
mine has been slowed down because they’re waiting for NI number.
really hope you hear something this week 💕 xx

More information from the school I think. I’m not convinced they know, because they do have info from school.

from reading on here it seems NI numbers can take some time- hopefully it won’t be too much longer for you. I keep telling myself every week that passes is a week closer to an answer.

@Alilly1991 ah no way 🥺 that's so frustrating!!! Apparently 8- 11 weeks Jade just said, I really hope it gets turned around, if not please don't stop go to tribunal, I'm praying I don't have this long process, I've only put in for the mobility side, I believe he is entitled under the smi rules 🙏 hope you get good results xx

I’m literally praying for a miracle at this rate 😂 that backdate will surely come in handy for our trip to Birmingham for surgery 🥹x

keeping everything crossed for you, you seem to have so much on your plate at the moment. We’ll all be celebrating once you finally do get your award.

Hi Tasha, I’m also applying for mobility. I haven’t heard of the SMI rules (or maybe I have but don’t remember) can you tell me more about them? Thanks

Hi smi rules are serve mental impairment, my little boy has autism, and has significant learning difficulties, he meets the smi rules, if you Google them it'll give you a chart, and aslong as they meet the criteria they should be entitled. Hope that helps x

So frustrating isn't it, I've also had 2 letters, and not rang yet, I may try this week, I fought coc would be quicker than a new claim as they are already on system x

Mommy2boys30 · 06/04/2024 23:12

Scan date 5/02, 2 letters so far 🚗
Feel like I have been on here for so long on these threads already 😂

MsTB101 · 07/04/2024 07:24

Scan date 08/01 . . .

Macramepotholder · 07/04/2024 08:29

So is your scan date when it was received and logged into the system?

I sent ours off at the start of Feb, hadn't heard anything so called a few weeks ago and they said they had it- but didn't think to ask if that was the scan date.

Jadexxx92 · 07/04/2024 08:47

Alilly1991 · 06/04/2024 21:03

Does anyone know how long MR’s are taking? I applied in July last year as a COC. Then declined Jan. MR sent off start of Feb 😂 it seems like such a long process to no doubt be declined and have to go to tribunal 😳

I did MR 6th feb decision was made in the 28th March

@Jadexxx92 Oh the wait is ridiculous isn't it, what does scan date mean?

The wait is crazy! The scan date is the start of the dreaded 16week wait. The day dwp scanned forms onto there system x

So did I but they seem to take longer if anything, also, I keep seeing them declined on here. It’s really annoying because it should be straightforward. My child’s claim was good until 16, we have never had a review and nobody tells you about SMI rules. We would have done this many years ago. Starting secondary school was breaking point and I still didn’t think of claiming, only because his new school staff were so surprised he doesn’t get high rates and doesn’t have a blue badge. We literally can’t go anywhere.

Justkeepsplashing · 07/04/2024 10:17

Morning all, I can’t ask this in real life as my family aren’t supportive and say my child is just spoilt. I’ve just had to go to the shop for packed lunch items for school as she won’t eat what’s in the fridge as she says they’ve been contaminated by the other food items in there. I can’t afford a large fridge so I squash the items and try and separate her things but she won’t eat them if any of my cheese or meat items have touched hers. My question is, I know our DLA application will be rejected - she doesn’t have an official diagnosis and so I didn’t have any letters from professionals to back my claim. Would I be able to appeal the claim as this food issue is new, so I can add it in. It’s expensive meeting her needs. Thank you all.

Have you spoken with her DR? Its not her being spoilt. Look up 'ocd food contamination'. If you are rejected appeal and print off any info you can find and add it to the claim x

our GP isn’t very good - they have a new way of being contacted now, as opposed to calling up, which is through an app. I informed them via the app that she’d been self harming and then again when passing blood as she has hemorrhoids from anxiety - but not heard anything back. Thank you - I’ll read up on the OCD contamination, I didn’t know about that

Self harming, take to childrens a&e either when she has done it or when you notice. She will then be passed to childrens mental health and taken as a priority so will be seen while in hospital. Regarding the passing blood id ask for a diabetes test as that can be linked to diabetes aswell. Also to help with your dla claim, keep a diary for a week. Her school senco can do a referral to camhs if they havnt already? X

It really should be!! And the struggles we face as parents, it's a joke!! Nobody told me about smi rules either I actually read about them on here somewhere, we've no car and no blue badge and struggle as well to get anywhere, we literally rely on family, as public transport is a no go with him. I really hope you get what you deserve xx

Hi it doesn't go off diagnosis, it's the child's needs and whether they are greater than a child of there age, I know the food thing can be very frustrating, my child is ASD and will eat the same thing every single day, to the point he ate only cheese and nothing else for a year! Haha, have you any professional input? And any evidence? School report? You need to be able to prove that what your saying is true x
