just spoke with a lovely lady, I didn’t get her name. But she’s left a note to say I’m now in receipt of child benefit. So 🤞 it won’t be too long now. But she said it could still take quite a bit of time. I hope not too much more time 😄

Also to anyone without a National insurance number, mine just got awarded and we didn’t have one when we applied (scan date 19/12), so there’s hope

we don’t have a NIno either, scan date 17/11. But just got child benefit sorted so hoping that will get things moving again now 🤞

Had a missed call yesterday so phoned today to ask why. Spoke to a lovely lady that transferred me through to someone else to tell me we’ve been awarded, told me rates and when back pay will be paid 🎉 scan date 10/12

Yeh I think it was a couple of days I found out Friday she had a nino and she was awarded Monday xx

@Fee89 we never got given a ref number. As we’d never claimed child benefit no NI number had been generated

Sorry i misread it as you didnt have NI number to put on the claim when you applied x

@Leeuk1 when I done it for my daughter last year it only took 5days haha xx and thank you xx

Ah i understand @Fee89! It’s such a silly system. If the numbers were just generated when a birth was registered that would solve the whole issue

I was so chilled out when I posted my forms. I told myself it’ll be 20 weeks and I just won’t think about it until June.
Here I am though only 10 and a half weeks in obsessively checking this thread and Facebook to see the scan dates of people being awarded 😂.

What I have noticed on Facebook though is that lots of people claims are for young children (under 5) and the ones being declined are for really young children too. I’m not sure if this is because young children still need so much care anyway and therefore it’s harder to explain what they need on top of that?
My DD is nearly 9 so I’m hoping because of her ages it’s more evident that the care she needs is not normal for a ‘normal’ child of her age. This is what I’m telling myself anyway 😂. This process is too much for my overthinking brain to deal with 🙈

@Nickij2024 😂😂 made me LOL your about same as me, although I'm a COC, told me it will be done in the next 4-5weeks.

I don't think ages is a factor my little boy has ASD non verbal and I put his first claim in at age 3 and he was awarded.

Overthinking is norm here 😂 we are all the SAME

We have to laugh otherwise we would cry at this point 😂

Have just called long way only half hour wait spoke to a lovely lady think her name was Natalie? She just told me it’s just gone to a dm! They’ve been telling me it’s been with a dm since the 22/03 🤦🏻‍♀️ she said I should hear within 2 weeks now and she’s put a note on the system to send a text when a decision is made 🤞

I got so anxious waiting for her to look at it 🫠 it’s really driving me mad now! x

One of the issues with having DD at home all the time is it’s hard to be on the phone for ages. She also hates me being on the phone for some reason 🤷🏻‍♀️. Anyway glad to see some other have been awarded & good luck to everyone else!

Heya. I’ve just done the child benefit application again now, didn’t have to send anything off thankfully. Also got a text from hmrc saying they’ve received the application, which I didn’t get the first time. Hopeful 🤞
how many days has it been since you did the application again till today xx
i will call DLA after child benefit has been approved 😅 don’t think there would be any point xx

Congratulations to all who have been awarded.
I have downloaded the form for a Mandatory review, hopefully will be posting tomorrow. Have added on more diary entries, hopefully this time they will actually read what I have written. Fingers crossed for everyone waiting to hear x
